Tahu's still a cluttered mess, and Umarak is still glorious. I'm very curious to see how the torsos are built!

EDIT: On closer inspection, it seems their upper torsos are based around the new Technic addon. That's pretty interesting.

Yep, I thought it was just Umarak but it looks to be both. I am even more sure that piece is the 'Piece of Unification' mentioned in the French bios, as we can see that it is used to construct the upper torso from the ground up and is an integral part of all the sets. I have a feeling this might mean the torsos are completely custom outside of that and the hip piece, which hopefully is not a detriment to stability.

The neck piece is also new. It's not a Glatorian neck, since it has 2 O holes. What if that piece is much longer than it seems? Maybe it's like this:

-silver hips with balljoints

-black gear+liftarm+neck balljoints

-dark bley Technic connector (for the shoulders area?)

While the rest of the stuff around those 3 new pieces is all custom Technic genius.

It was thinking that it might be a CCBS bone

So, yeah. I'm super stoked for the creatures. Gear functions on small sets? Count me in.

Heck, after looking at the picture for a while, Tahu and Umarak are looking really good and makes me excited to see official images of the rest of the figures.

Really curious to see how the torso is constructed, especially the gear function and waist assembly.

Wonder what the gear functions are on the other creatures, especially Terak. Was not expecting flapping wings on the Fire Creature!

Nah, the Glatorian neck doesn't have holes in the balljoint and its axle part is different from what is shown in the image.

Well, guess you are right, it's either a new piece or that bone you posted.

if It is that bone however it would make their torsos very tall cosidering the bone is length of a regular torso and it has to include the hip piece.

Since Uniter Tahu's legs are the same length as Master Tahu's, the only height difference would come from the torso; that height difference is actually 2 cm, not that much (only a couple modules or so).

I'm worried about something, looking at the picture we got to see. Is it just me, or are the eyes molded shut ? This would be a real shame, without proper eyes these creature heads look really weird to me...

I noticed that, they didn't have any eyes, haha

Maybe it's just a rendering problem. I think they'll be printed. We'll have to see.

Unless they're printed on the actual sets (which I honestly don't see happening), no, the creatures do not apparently have eyeholes. Doesn't bug me, personally, but I can see how it could be an issue for others.

Speaking of the Creature masks, I really hope the they clip onto the Toa's masks. The whole front end of the Creature mask is an empty cavity, so I just hope there's a peg or a clip to hook the two masks together.

Not to mention, Ikir at least has a double jointed neck which would facilitate neck movement on the Toa. It would be a pain if you had to move the two heads separately when posing...

All the 2015 toa apart from Pohatu have torsos that are too short for the legs and arms, so if anything it would make the 2016 sets more proportionally accurate.

They could possibly clip onto the nuva symbols.

They all look pretty great, but I've noticed something. Umarak had a Skull Warrior-esque bow in the prelims and no Skull Villain blade, but here all he has is a Skull Villain blade, and no bow. Does Umarak not have a bow anymore? Or is it possible it's just been omitted from this picture? I'm glad to see that the one-piece torso shell has some piston detailing too.

The only thing I don't really like here is Tahu's weapons. Too much Technic and a bit oddly designed if you ask me... :look:

His description says he has a bow, so I guess they just decided not to show it here for whatever reason. Umarak actually had the blade in the prelims though, it was attached to one of his legs.

From the picture, it seems that Umarak has both a sword and a massive bow. So I think that Umarak's weapon can be stored on Umarak's back, similar to Skull Warrior.

Umarak's pose is pretty problematic on that pic. But then again the most horrible poses have been always in the club magazine.

Umarak had in the prelims no Skull Villain blade [...]

It's on the left thigh.

The shooter in Kopaka's left hand connects to his hand with a 1.5M axle connector (http://brickset.com/parts/design-6553). It looks like the connector goes all the way into his hand. The 2015 hand part is 2M thick but only 1M can go in from either side because of a block in the middle. So Kopaka has a new hand piece, I guess.

No, I just bet it's a rendering error. It looks about right, they just show it being inside all the the hand, which would require both to be new parts. I doubt the hands are changing anytime soon.

Oh yeah, how on earth did I miss that blade!? I even have high quality prelims on my computer, showing the blade clear as day :look: Remind me not to make comments at 2:40am while struggling to stay awake

Good to know about the bow though. I thought they might have showed the bow mounted to the back of Umarak, but obviously not.
