October 31, 20159 yr Now I wonder how Umarak's weapon can be stored on Umarak's back. I doubt there will be concrete storage as Umarak has the Piece of Unification, which needs to stay open for if he catches any Creatures. There's always the possibility that you will be able to stick the bow on the same pin though, which I will probably do if they don't come up with a proper solution. I don't know if it has been mentioned, but Umarak's description says explicitly that you can take his shoulderpads off to make another Shadow Trap, so I am betting that is an official feature. That chain hanging off of one pad might be used as a leash of sorts when combined with the chain on his sword.

Also please tell me that somebody recorded the panel, I would absolutely love to watch it!

Recording isn't allowed during designer panels, and we weren't even allowed to take pictures of the 2016 content.

What sort of stuff did they talk about at the panel? That's pretty great that they allowed info about the 2016 sets, and something I was certainly not expecting.

I'm really interested in the design process for Lego sets, Bionicle in particular. It really kinda sucks that people who can't attend events like these don't get to see it. It really kinda sucks that people who can't attend events like these don't get to see it. We were allowed to take pictures of a lot of concept art and models for this year's sets, if that's what you're interested in! BZP has uploaded most of them to its Instagram and Facebook. As for the 2016 content, the designer (Christian Vonsild) was not even planning to show it until he learned that Tahu and Umarak had already been shown in the Lego Magazine. We only really got to see Kopaka, Melum, and the development process for Kopaka's mask.
October 31, 20159 yr I wonder why LEGO's becoming increasingly secretive with themes coming out in round two months...or have they always been like this? (I don't remember it being like this for themes that aren't officially licensed)

But it would have been really interesting to hear what Christian had to say about them. Oh well, I hope they release the development process of Kopaka's new mask sometime next year. I hope to one day work at Lego as a parts designer (I can dream alright?), so I'm a total sucker for behind the scenes stuff like this.
October 31, 20159 yr I wonder why LEGO's becoming increasingly secretive with themes coming out in round two months...or have they always been like this? (I don't remember it being like this for themes that aren't officially licensed) Yes, Lego has always been like this. They pretty much don't officially acknowledge stuff until the day it comes out save for website updates and previews in the Lego Club magazines or the catalog. As I've said numerous times, the early preview of Bionicle last year was the exception to the rule and not something to be expected on a yearly basis.

October 31, 20159 yr Are Kopaka's sword hilts gold or silver? And are his lower arms really dark blue? Lower arms are dark blue. I don't remember what color the swords are blended with, but the actual brick-built hilt is gunmetal, I think. The horns seem to attach to the same piece used for the cross-guard on Kylo Ren's light saber, as far as I could tell.
October 31, 20159 yr Did you felt more confident with the new armor piece now? You mean the leg armor? Did I like it more? Sure, it was a better angle for the final product shot. And it looks great on Melum's torso. But I'm still skeptical of its use as leg armor, especially without supplementing it with other parts. I might get another look at it tomorrow, and I'll try to pay more attention to detail. Edited October 31, 20159 yr by Lyichir

(I don't remember it being like this for themes that aren't officially licensed) I think that TLC is now be careful with the information of the 2016 sets. TLC don't want too many information about the 2016 sets to spread wildly on the Internet and affect the sales of the 2016 sets when they released officially. Same reason like why TLC quickly request many website to remove the leaked set images of the Star Wars TFA sets before officially released.
November 1, 20159 yr I kind of want the 2017 Toa to be called the Phantoms, referencing the Phantoka. Maybe having a slightly darker color scheme similarly to their 2008 counterparts, but with less silver.

Maybe having a slightly darker color scheme similarly to their 2008 counterparts, but with less silver. I don't know how great that name would be, considering "phantom" has more nefarious connotations than "Master" or "Uniter". Though if you wanted something else along those lines, "Mystic of Fire/Water/etc." would be a good name, evoking the Mistika rather than the Phantoka.

I don't think anyone would want to be reminded of the Mistika :P Jokes aside though, I actually think that would be a pretty cool name.

As in Metru blue, a la the colour of the Skull Spider that comes with Lewa? Unlike some others, I was actually okay with his lower arms being black. If they're going to be dark blue, though, that's incredible. I've been waiting for a long time for a Metru blue CCBS shell! Hopefully this means we'll get a wave using darker colours. The novelty of trans-pieces and gold is wearing off for me. I'd like to see more Metru red, Metru blue/green, and perhaps brown! We'll be getting more brown CCBS pieces with next year's Star Wars Constraction sets. Hopefully these colours are more prevalent in 2016 if/when (hopefully) we get a new Toa team. November 1, 20159 yr If we're getting dark blue, I'm going to start making MOCs with Ninjago's ghosts' color scheme in CCBS. It's too good a color scheme to waste.

Dark Blue, Metru Blue, Earth Blue, whatever you want to call it. Apart from the Skull Spiders, this will indeed be its CCBS debut. Also, while we haven't had any finalized pics, the leaks sure made it look like Pohatu would be using both Reddish Brown and Dark Brown. Both exist in CCBS (thanks, Chima!), but a wider variety of parts will certainly be nice.

November 1, 20159 yr Hmm... wonder if they are going to give individual colors to their weapons, aside of Tahu. I could definetly see Gali and Kopaka using the same one as well as Pohatu and Lewa sharing theirs and even their crystal add-on. They did change Kopaka's sword from gold to silver so it's not out of the question.
November 1, 20159 yr Thanks for the info Lyichir. Yup, dark blue shells is something I...long...longed for. So far, trans dark blue shells have been a replacement for them, at least in my mind- but the real thing is obviously better, as nice as trans dark blue looks. And I hope the silver hilts for Kopaka's blades stick, since Gali's crystal blade is likely going to be silver/tr. dark blue like her crystal add-ons, or 100% silver. I really don't care for gold weapons to be honest, they're too specific, while silver and titanium metallic (to a slightly lesser extent) work for just about everything.

Okay, so after seeing Christian's presentation again, the hilts on Kopaka's sword elements are silver. Kopaka's basic mask is blended with silver, and his gold mask was blended with Trans. Light Blue.
