Shakar Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Since the first list we got didn't have names for the Creatures, maybe the Beasts have names in their final version? Or maybe the set names we found are finalized since they were up on thr S@H database (and got removed). I don't know, it seems weird for small sets to have proper names written on their packaging while larger ones don't get anything. Quote

TheBrickPal Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 (edited) Lol still no pics of the 2016 sets.......... It's not surprising. We still have no pics of any other theme yet. And this isn't 2014. ;) That was unprecedented. Edited September 14, 2015 by Puffle Pal26 Quote

I doubt the catalogs have individual codes on every possible page or something stupid as that, are they simply too afraid to bother with taking pictures because of people getting fired last year? Scarilian Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 As of right now we have no evidence the unique watermark thing is true. Why dont we just ask someone who had seen the catalogue to verify if it seemingly has a new watermark? - e.g. Hulk_Smash Lol still no pics of the 2016 sets.......... We'll get pics, it just may take longer than we expected. Chances are we wont get leaks until the end of the month. Quote

Fulcrumfan91 Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Posting this won't make them come any faster though. Yeah, I know. I'm a tad impatient haha...............(pfft a tad?) Also, anybody think that LEGO will have the new figures featured at NYCC Oct 8-11? Quote
Scarilian Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Also, anybody think that LEGO will have the new figures featured at NYCC Oct 8-11? I'd guess that they would, probably release official images slightly before that though judging from last years reveal. Quote
Bigger Fish Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Here are my ideas for the creatures. Tahu: Some type of lizard, dinosaur, or dragon. Kopaka: A tiger, penguin, or wolf could work. Onua: A little robot drone buddy, a crab, or a mole. Pohatu: An ostrich. armadillo, or a kangaroo Lewa: A bird or a monkey. Gali: A dolphin, shark, octopus, turtle, or a crocodile are all good ideas. Kalhiki Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 (edited) I'd guess that they would, probably release official images slightly before that though judging from last years reveal. Last year was also the reveal of the first wave for a returning popular theme. Not saying it couldn't happen, but this year it's just... Another wave of sets. Plus, with the new big bang theme Nexo Knights and Star Wars VII (yeah, we've seen the sets, but Lego could still promote it) coming soon, I'm not sure how high Bionicle would be on the priority list for NYCC. Lyichir Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 (edited) Part of me is hoping that the Kopaka/Melum combo pack, like Mask Maker vs. Skull Grinder, will allow for the smaller figure (Melum) to be slightly larger than your typical $10 figure and for the larger figure (Kopaka) to be slightly smaller than a typical $20 figure. My reasoning is that possibly the coolest type of creature for Kopaka to have would be a bear, but that even a small bear might need to be slightly bigger/burlier than the other creatures to really get the point across. Should probably have explained that we got a variety of official images before NYCC last year, including Bionicle as previously mentioned along with Ninjago, City, Elves and probably a few more lines - so official images seem more likely to be revealed before Octobert 8-11 (NYCC) Even if not a large presence i'd still expect some presence of Bionicle, atleast the sets on display or something. Fulcrumfan91 Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Also, I finally read the Bionicle book and Tahu wakes up with a NEW golden mask....I dunno, but does that necessarily mean that the new toa will just have golden masks on their person? I'm hoping those are extra and that their usual colours are still used...it'd be a little odd for them all to just be wearing golden masks Quote
dviddy Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Leaks of official sets definitely happened early last year, but the NYCC event was originally planned to be the reveal of the entire new line. Not just as in "here are the new sets," but as in "BIONICLE is coming back and you didn't know until now!!" But all the leaks and all the URL guessing and the early community reveals led them to just straight up admit it was coming back early. But the NYCC event was too far planned to backpedal and plan for more of another theme as well, so it went ahead as a full BIONICLE booth. While they might have the next wave on display, considering, again, the release of Star Wars this December, don't be surprised if the booth is all Star Wars all the time. Quote

Kalhiki Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 What does Lego usually do at NYCC? Do they have multiple set reveals or is it mainly focused on just one theme? I guess I was just too Bionicle-focused last year to pay attention to if they had anything else on display. Quote

I guess I was just too Bionicle-focused last year to pay attention to if they had anything else on display. It's hard to say what they "usually" do because their presence there in recent years has been kind of erratic. Last year their booth there was entirely devoted to Bionicle. The year before, they didn't even attend because they had blown that part of their marketing budget on the life-size X-Wing display in Times Square earlier in the year. In 2012, their booth was not strictly devoted to any one brand, as you can see here, but new set reveals and exclusive minifigures included Super Heroes and TMNT. In 2011, they did not have a booth but distributed Super Heroes themed exclusives and revealed the Batcave set at the DC Comics booth. I do not know whether there was any official LEGO presence at NYCC prior to 2011. Quote
The Outsider Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 (edited) Keep an eye on this russian website, it belongs to a toy shop and they listed on the day before yesterday all the 2016 winter sets for BIONICLE. It should be a matter of very few days before they put on the images too. (jeez, does Mother Russia really like that much BIONICLE? I knew about HF, but it'd be great if they continued the trend ) Man, watching those old sets in the end makes me feel nostalgic... Speaking of nostalgia, there's one thing from the old series that I'd like to see come back: integrating the package into the story. One of the things I loved about G1 (or at least the 2000-2004 years) is how the canisters weren't just canisters; they were part of the story, either as transportation (the Toa Canisters, the Matoran Spheres) or as scenery (the Suva, the Bohrok Hives, the Rahkshi columns, the Vahki Towers). It really showed that nothing went to chance and every detail of the series was thought out, and helped us flesh out the world our characters lived in. It's also one of the few things I enjoyed about Hero Factory: that it brought back that sense of thoughtfullness and creativity (at least for an year and a half ). Don't get me wrong; I'm not saying I want plastic canisters again. I understand they needed a cheaper alternative, and I love how eco-friendly the new cardboard canisters are and that I don't need to ruin the front art to open them (and the fact they're not bags! ). I just wanted to see that aspect re-integrated into the packaging; maybe using them all together to build a temple or building of Okoto, if we don't get playsets. This probably won't happen, though; I just needed to say it. Also, I finally read the Bionicle book and Tahu wakes up with a NEW golden mask....I dunno, but does that necessarily mean that the new toa will just have golden masks on their person? Lyichir Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 You mean book 2? I'm pretty sure they mean the first book. The Toa's masks are destroyed in the battle with Skull Grinder, and after the battle Ekimu forges them new ones. I don't think that necessarily indicates anything about the masks for next year's sets—the only reason the Toa really get new golden masks is to replace the ones that were destroyed. Quote

Scarilian Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 (edited) You mean book 2? For the record book 2 isnt out until December 29th. If we're lucky we may see preview pages similar to the first chapter book. Our next best bet for infromation revealed via the books will be the activity book and graphic novel in November (24th and 26th respectively) Yeah. They'll probably be upgraded to the 2016 sets in ROTSS Theory; I'd guess the masks at the end of Book 1 are going to be our teaser in animated form for the 2016 sets, rather than seeing the creatures, umarak or the full uniter forms we just see the Toa wearing newer masks. My reasoning is that it would seem odd and fairly redundant to have the Toa gain new/repaired masks and then instantly ditch those for another upgrade in ROTSS Edited September 15, 2015 by Scarilian Quote
TwistLaw Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 The thirst for leaks is so strong in me I'd be willing to create false descriptions of the 2016 sets at the price of being banned. Anyway I think we won't see anything new at the end of the webisodes, the masks at the end of the books are just the old ones remade, just really, come on Quote
