So, almost seems like the Toa masks of Tahu and Kopaka have a resemblance to this year's concept art with the elemental theme(flames and icicles I presume). Neat. As well as the small set enemies, which seem unique. And Umarak has custom legs<3, and the MoCo. :D

Who posts links anymore?

http://board.ttvpodcast.com/t/bionicle-2016-discussion-topic/13467

The only post worth reading is the first one, which has all the information that was revealed. The rest of the topic is pretty much questions and memes. Lots of memes.

Thanks a lot :)

Wow Pohatu sounds seeeexy!!!! I can't wait to see official pics of him

Ok seems that CM4Sci did first. If someone has more questions, please ask.

I have only one question that seems to have gone unanswered. 2015 Gali, Pohatu, and Lewa featured Dark Azure, Dark Orange, and Bright Green colors respectively. Do you know which have returned and which have been replaced on said Toa?

Thanks.

Well, Melum seems strange. But it's amusing how they chose a creature for Jungle that we hadn't even thought of yet is probably the first thing you'll notice if you're ever in a jungle: a mosquito. And the new creatures seem awesome. A legged venus fly trap like creature? Cool. I'm a little confused by the pseudo-Mask of Control, but Umarak has a great color scheme, at least for my MOCcing purposes. But I've got to ask, what do you mean by the SW constraction torso? The piece used on Luke?

He means this piece

I hope that the guy that saw the pictures got the chest wrong. I really don't want the Toa to use such a big and single use part.

Yeah, I thought so. I'm not really sure how they'd make that fit the sort of aesthetic the Toa seem to be going for judging by the descriptions, a kind of mix between that of 2015 and a more tribal and feathery aesthetic. It confuses me a little that people at TTV are complaining about Gali's build not being "feminine". Come on guys, there's more than one female build in real life. Also, I hope Terak's new claw pieces are like the spine-like claws of real moles. And hopefully they won't just be the Chima claws on exo-force arms, or at least non-rubbery versions. They lose their friction so fast.

ONUA: Pearl gold armor with dark purple details, some dark purple, some pearl gold, some black (face is black) he is AIR

TAHU: Orange and pearl gold, he is FIRE

GALI: Blue, orange and flat silver. He is WATER

LEWA: Green, lime and flat silver. He is JUNGLE

KETAR: Red, Yellow and pearl gray. He is ROCK

71311 = KOPAKA + MELUM, trans blue, pearl gold and flat silver.

71310 UMARAK the hunter, black green and red, he has a big bow.

So apparently someone labeled Onua wrong. Also, by the way, Gali is female. More importantly, your information contradicts CM4Sci's regarding Terak's colors, unless you confused yellow with gold and red with purple.

He seems clearly dark red/yellow to me. Possibly trans yellow.

Eh... I'm getting mixed vibes from the descriptions. And not over any dispute I have with their legitimacy (you DID say you wanted to fake leaks the other day, Twistlaw , but just what they sound like. Star Wars torso on all of them sounds eh, reuse of the Skull armor on good guys sounds eh, and the masks sound stupid (ESPECIALLY Kopaka's). An abundance of trans-blends sounds awesome, but on the contrary I hope they're not going to kill MOCing with them like the Protector's masks do. I don't understand why LEGO's designers think slapping copious and arbitrary amounts of gold and trans pieces somehow magically makes a set look better, the humble color schemes of the Toa Mata are a testament to this. Gold and transparent pieces should be reserved for stuff that's meant to look important (eg, Ekimu's armor, MoCr and MoCo, the golden masks, etc).

Creatures sound cool, though I'm a bit sad to hear that they probably won't have unique functions as hard as that would be to implement. Still, these are probably prelims so I'm not worried about most of this.

ooh looking forward to Onua's warhammer and Pohatu's mace and chain:D

and holy cow does the mask of Control look sly and regal. not so much like a crown like the mask of creation does but something an elected official would wear. or an old timey Lord.

wonder if the toa's masks will have new powers.

Oh gosh, really exciting stuff! Not happy about the prospect of the Star Wars torso shell being used though, nor the thought that there's no gearboxes. I'm hoping those are misinterpretations. But, beartrap monsters? The Mask of Control? Antlers on Umarak? I'M SOLD.

Well, Melum seems strange.

Indeed. I wonder what Creature he is...

And apparently Melum and Kopaka combine, so I guess the other Toa and Creatures will too.

But it's amusing how they chose a creature for Jungle that we hadn't even thought of yet is probably the first thing you'll notice if you're ever in a jungle: a mosquito.

I think some people suggested a small Nui-Rama-expy a while back (which was actually a mosquito/dragonfly hybrid with no legs and two arms, but it's close enough).

And the new creatures seem awesome. A legged venus fly trap like creature?

Assuming they are under Umarak the Hunter's control, and given they look more mechanical to me, I think they're meant to be mobile bear traps.

I really like the Mask of Control's design (and it has symbols like the MoCR!). A bit disappointed with the SW torso as well, but maybe they'll pull something interesting out of it.

I wonder what the new Golden Masks' powers will be...

What's surprising me is that the Mask of Control is releasing in the winter wave. I mean, you'd think it'd be a shoe-in for the summer. It begs the question what they will be doing with the summer story, but I guess that would for the, uh, story thread.

Either way the mask is looking cool. Obviously it's been through some design revision since the version that its cartoon appearance was based on, so I wonder if the 2016 episodes will just wordlessly update the mask's appearance, or what.

Also really interesting that the overall motif is now green. The Mask of Control was associated with purple this year, so I would've expected that.

Wait, what? No gearboxes!? If this is true, it's because of the Star Wars torso becoming commonplace. I swear, if the Star Wars build becomes the new Inika build I'm never touching constraction again.

Swiveling arms are hardly the be all and end all of constraction, are they?

No, but they certainly made Bionicle G2 sets unique and more interesting to build, and... well, quintessentially Bionicle.

It's not definite that they're not there though, it's just that the guys who've seen the images couldn't make out gearboxes on the models (as above), much like we kinda couldn't when we all first saw the 2015 Toa. That, or there's some new form of function on the figures.

It just doesn't make a lot of sense to have this big focus on functionality with newly developed pieces and building techniques one year, and then throw all of that out the window the next. If these new figures do indeed have no functions, I for one will be supremely disappointed.
