Katana-like swords. It's the same piece Gali uses for her spear.

I find it funny Gali/Lewa and Tahu/Kopaka shared weapon pieces in 2015 and it's the same thing again in 2016.

Well whatever his weapons are I love that new blade piece. Also is it used on Gali's spear? I take it that it is also employed on Tahu's swords. Mmm, so many recolors. I guess they figured 2015 'would' rake in enough sales to warrant a budget raise.

It's not a spinner, it's a propeller—the same kind Gali Nuva had, at that. So if anything, it's a throwback to that.

Also, curious whether those bear traps come with the Toa also. If so does that mean Kopaka and Melum have two in their set? And what significance do these Creatures have to Umarak that he'd want to 'trap' them. Maybe they each contain a piece of a key needed to access the MoCo? Or the traps are just Skull Spiders essentially and corrupt the Creatures, which I personally wouldn't mind as Ikar looks like he/she could be a formidable opponent to Tahu if the sizes in that combiner picture are accurate, unlike the Narmoto/Tahu size ratio...

I like Lewa's tonfas and his mask. Gali's mask is certainly reminiscent of Nokama's. The spear is fitting and the single orange shoulder pad is interesting. I really like the new torso armor and elemental flame piece. It's really cool that they are bringing back the 2008 armor piece and it looks really great as shoulder armor on Lew and Pohatu. I'm glad Gali has the darker trans blue and I'm glad Lewa has ditched the Keetorange. I like the bear traps and how they each are a little different to fit the elements. Iam very much looking forward to seeing Onua but the sketch that I've seen looks good. It appears he will have a drill hammer that uses the power miners drill. It also appears he has Skull Basher rib cages for shoulder armor which would look pretty cool. I just hope he still retains his beefiness as the brute on the team.

100% agree with you...it looks more like Kongu's inika mask if anything

Tahu looks a little bit more like a combo between Vakama's metru/hordika forms....Onua looks pretty cool!

I think we could also see Gali a bit better, along with the creatures of Water, Jungle, Stone, and Ice. It seems that time will tell though, as long as 4chan doesn't pressure the leaker into not posting Bionicle pics.

Oh my Onua, that hammer is huge. Overall looks bulkier then we might have expected.

And Tahu, that mask is nice, very nice. A lot of gold but Tahu will always be my boy <3.

Onua looks awesome. As a large fan of the 2015 one, I'll be getting this one. The creature of earth to me looks like a bear, not a mole, because of the bulkiness and the new add-on used on the paws, along with the head.

Onua looks incredible! The creatures look great as well, the mole especially. I'm curious to see if Onua actually looks bulkier than the rest of the Toa, I hope so. I look forward to seeing the rest of the sets! Also Tahu looks good but his swords(?) are constructed oddly. I can only assume there is a function involved.

Eh... not a fan of Onua's continued bling-bling and lack of resemblance to Master Onua in shape and mask. Tahu has way too much gold. Not a fan of walking bear traps for enemies, and Umarak looks like something out of a cult. At this point I'll buy Lewa and maybe Gali, and I'll wait to see the Creatures and Kopaka fully before I give them judgement. Not a huge fan of this wave.

So I've noticed a pattern and it seems likely they are going to stay on it.

2015 was pretty much Ninjago and 2016 seems to use ideas from Chima a lot.

So something akin to Nexo Knights for 2017?

I'm not sure to be saddened by the fact that Terak appears to use recolored chima claws for claws, which don't seem large enough for proper mole claws, at least not when using the Savage Planet paw, or gladdened by the new recolor. Also, the ribcage pieces on Onua seem strangely solid. Another possible recolor? The creature of fire (is its name Ikir?) seems to use the pieces Tahu and Lewa use as weapons as wings. And Tahu has just a little too much gold for my tastes.

EDIT: Also, 4m limb bones in tr. purple in the Creature of Earth set!

...ugh. Either I'm seeing things or all of the toa have the same weapon mold and Onua and Pohatu don't have new ones to begin with, this is really just what I didn't ask for.

So far it looks like:

-9 masks (toa, all creatures share the same, Umarak's and MoCo)

-Creatures hopefully have a new head mold underneath

-The toa (and possibly Umarak) have a seperate hair looking piece under the mask

-One new add-on that is like mixture of the ifB cocoon and 2.0 fire armor that is colored with silver/gold and dualinjected with elemental color which I can only describe as weird.

-I am unsure if there are two torso shells or just one.

-One new weapon that is dualinjected across many of the toa with their element color and silver.

-Traps have one new mold that is repeated by making it non asymmetric

-Onua's hammer could have new a mold but it could have been made for Nexo-Knights/Technic.

-depends if the vorox/skrall armor can be counted

It's less than what we had in the launch wave which was around 15, and given that we can't be sure about those hairpieces it could be even less, I doubt the rest of the creatures have unique molds.

Gali has a different weapon mold than Lewa and Tahu. She has a huge broadsword. Meanwhile, Pohatu has a mace and Onua has a hammer with a drill on one side and a minigun on the other, both of which seem creative enough. Those hair things are more like crystals or feathers, kind of like some of the early concept art we've seen. The reason the creature have the same head mold is to allow the heads to function as additional armor caps in the combined forms. The new armor add-on is simply a dual-color version of the Skull Villain armor, by the looks of it.
