Okay, I have compiled a list of new recolors and what colors new parts appear in based on the prelims. Those marked with a question mark are ones I am unsure upon. If you need clarification on any parts or want to correct/validate my observations feel free to say so.

If the torsos have a function like Rahkshi/Vahki they most likely are built from two new different parts, also notice there's a new tooth gear mold with an axle molded in it on Ikir's and Ketar's back.

The dark tan bone pieces are components of Umarak's horns...the vorox dark tan armour piece is on Ketar's tail, on the bottom.

Pohatu comes with his own golden mask...it's on the right side of him

I meant that it looks like his mask was only piece in his normal brown color (rest is lime, dark tan?(I'm nor sure how better call it), and silver), and in 2015 he already have 6 pieces only in brown, so for me his Toa Nuva version is worse then 2015 form.

Now, the legs while gappy have a very G1 look, and objectively, loss had very VERY little posability and an underwhelming function. Umarak has a lot mor articulation and from what we have seen a better function. As for the colors, he seems to be using a camo look, the red, green and brown would fit perfectly on a jungle environment.

While I am not fond of them all having the same heads, they feel more unique to the protectors (the protector all shared the same mask anyway) and definately have a better combiner function to them than the protectors offered (looking at you korgot) and from what we have seen, all of them have a special mechanisim. For example uxar has a flapping motion while terak (might) have a gear function like

Ekimu.

I don't remember any G1 set with so gappy legs without any good armor on it, I think that legs could be better. Green and brown yes, but that red somehow for me don't look too good.

Protector masks were a little better then that beast masks, since they all have other colors, and beast masks are all silver/gold with just color hairs, so if they had masks in colors, they would be better.

I don't know about you, but I clearly see 3 "normal brown", as you call it, pieces on Pohatu. Plus he has some accents of this color on his chestplate

Yup, had forgotten about that new gear. I will add that to the list because I can see it for sure. On the torso functions, though, I am going to leave those pieces off for now because it is mostly a mystery.

Yup. Dark Tan Vorox Armor at the base of Ketar's tail, and Umarak includes both the large and small varieties of the 'bone spikes' in Dark Tan. Honestly, I wish that Ketar and Pohatu did not have a large mix of browns and stayed with Dark Orange, but I am sure it will look good in set form.

I don't think the Vorox Armor on Ketar is Dark Tan. It's too dark to be said colour, I think it's the same brown as Pohatu's torso/upperlegs. The reason why it looks lighter than on Pohatu's picture is because of the bright sun behind Uxar. ;)

I agree, there's no dark tan aside from Umarak's horns. Shame, I would've liked to see it on the Stone sets. I used 4 dark tan shells from Vardy on Pohatu, and he looks great with them.

Has anyone else noticed Umarak's "mask" is assymetrical? Judging by the pattern on his forehead that is repeated with the skullgang I'd say he doesn't wear mask at all but it's his head that roots and bark have covered up.

There's also bark on his chestprint.

I think I get why I dislike some parts of his design. Umarak surely has drawn inspiration from many differen't sources, too many I'd say. He's a zombie with a physique of an anthromorphic deer that has been fused with a burnt-down tree, wields a hunting bow and grew red spikes.

Rather than focusing on one or two of these aspects they just threw them all in the same pile.

I'm likely not going to buy all of these, honestly. 2015 offered so many new things, that buying the entirety of both lines was, for me, justifiable. With 2016 however, the new parts don't nearly appeal to me as much. I'm more excited to see recolours of the Vorox armour than anything else.

Also, learning from 2015, I've found that buying the entirety of a wave just for new pieces can prove to be problematic - I doubt that I'll ever use all 14 of the Skull Creature addons I own, and I most certainly don't need two collections of the drained Golden Masks. I don't want to make the same mistake again.

All this said however, I'm definitely very interested to see what this apparent new mechanism is, so I'll likely pick up at least one of the larger figures. Lewa, Kopaka and Melum and Umarak are currently on my shopping list, and Onua and Terak are also of consideration. The rest, however, don't really appeal to me at all.

Nice shopping list ^_^ but I agree with you about getting all the sets. It's the same reason I'm only getting a couple of them rather than getting more of them. Probably also going for Melum/Kopaka, Umarak...either Lewa or Pohatu, not sure yet.

I think that I will get all of the sets, but just over time. This year I rushed out to get the Winter 2015 sets as soon as possible (thanks to the buildup of hype for them), but next year I will more likely space out my purchases. 'Day One' purchases for me are definitely Onua, Terak, Tahu, Ikir, and Umarak though.

I think I will focus more on the creatures next year. They look fun and I think they represent something different.

I will probably also get Umarak, since I'm a sucker for big figures and I want the Mask of Control.

As for the Toa, I think Kopaka and Melum will be my first choice. I want to see more of Gali, but I'll probably get her. Maybe Tahu.

As for the rest, I'll have a clearer look before deciding.

As for the sets I'm might be getting... Well, I'm gonna buy them all, as with first wave of 2015, but I think day one purchases will be Umarak, Tahu and Gali. I know Tahu's getting a lot of hate because of his "overuse" of gold, but I don't really mind it, and the whole figure looks way too good for me to pass - same thing with Umarak. And Gali just because she's one of my fav characters in G2. I may also get one of the Creatures to see how the whole "Uniting" gimmick will work irl, but overall I'm not really impressed with them - I hope the Beasts will be better.

It is the Bionicle 2016 set discussion. That tie is an element in the set of ties shown in Bionicle 2016 leaks.

Back on topic, I'm probably only getting Onua and Terak, and Onua only for his tr. purple and the fact that I want to see that combiner.

I want all the Creatures as well (and don't care much for the Toa), but I'd need a Toa to try out that combining function. Kopaka's my favourite design of the 2016 Toa, so just as well!

I'll hold off getting Umarak till we see his Destroyer form. Honestly, the only reason for me to get his set is the Mask of Control; if it comes with the Destroyer as well (and if the Destroyer is the better set), I'll get that.

I'll probably only get onua and the creature of earth for there trans purple. Maybe lewa as well and probably kopaka and melum unity set. The others don't interest me so far. Maybe when offical pictures are released i'll change my mind.
