Okay, so after seeing Christian's presentation again, the hilts on Kopaka's sword elements are silver. Kopaka's basic mask is blended with silver, and his gold mask was blended with Trans. Light Blue.

Has there been any word on when we might see the sets? I mean official images, not sets being released now or anything like that. Perhaps tomorrow with the contest winner announcement? I did ask a LEGO employee recently, they said likely the images would be revealed in a few days. I wouldn't take that as absolute certainty, but...it's definitely possible.

Thanks for the info Lyichir. Yup, dark blue shells is something I...long...longed for. So far, trans dark blue shells have been a replacement for them, at least in my mind- but the real thing is obviously something else, as nice as trans dark blue is.

And I hope the silver hilts for Kopaka's blades stick, since Gali's crystal blade is likely going to be silver/tr. dark blue like her crystal add-ons or 100% silver. I really don't care for gold weapons to be honest, they're too specific, while silver and titanium metallic (to a slightly lesser extent) work for just about everything.

EDIT: Ah. Silver it is then, gooood. Guess that confirms Onua's black torso too.

That's awesome to see that they are in silver, as mentioned by Shakar; it's awesome also to see that Onua's torso is pretty much confirmed to be black. Honestly, I am ambivalent on the Dark Blue shells, which sucks because there are only two pieces of it on the whole set but is awesome because we finally get the color. I'll wait for in-hand impressions on that.

As I have expressed before, I am extremely happy to see that Gali's translucent color is Trans-Dark-Blue, as I have been actively separating the colors on her and Kopaka (to Trans-Dark-Blue and Trans-Light-Blue respectively). I'm also happy to see that the masks are confirmed to be blended, as I think showing some of the elemental color in will work even better given that these are supposed to be Toa even more in tune with their elemental abilities. My only concern about this is that kids who saw the blended masks in the 2H2015 wave will think the Masks of Unity are corrupted in some sense.

Now that we know Kopaka's hilt has been changed to silver, won't the only gold parts on him be the blended crystal pieces on his shins? I understand that Melum has them on his arms as well, but they're going to look odd as the only gold parts of the set.

Maybe if Kopaka asks nicely Tahu will lend him some of his gold.

I'm actually hoping that the crystal pieces on Kopaka's shins are blended with silver instead of gold! It'd fit in with his overall colour scheme better.

While I wish this where a thing, I bet the crystal pieces will be made of gold. This at least somewhat preserves the 'bigger Toa get gold' that Lego seems to have been going for, and will help match Melum's creature mask and Kopaka's golden Mask of Unity in the end. One thing you could do is transplant some of the gold from Tahu onto Kopaka if you want more.

They're blended with gold. I don't recall whether Kopaka had any other gold, but his gold mask and the gold on Melum will help to balance him out.

Shame. Not that I was expecting them to be silver, but it would have been nice for Non-Unity Kopaka be a little more consistent in his colors.

Can you recall any other information? I'm particularly interested in the turntable parts (although I imagine they were obscured by the chest).

I don't remember many other specifics. The turntable parts were hardly any more visible in the pics than they were in the magazine pics. Torso was white printed with dark blue and looked good. Upper arms still look slightly dubious as far as articulation is concerned. The leaked catalog pic, as expected, was mirrored. Melum is still pretty much identical to Terak (which almost makes me wonder if there'll be a figure which combines with multiple creatures—the need for symmetry would be one of the best excuses I can think of).

I'm still worried about that. There's definitely another way to do it depending on how you build the torso, since Onua, Tahu and Gali have full length arms. But the other 3 still look weird, and I can't tell if it's a budget decision or something else, since Gali's spear is more complex than Lewa's swords. It's also curious that the three Toa with shorter arms are the ones who share the "Vorox armour as shoulder pads" design.

My idea to add some red parts to Tahu, to make him less gold.

Red mask with gold creature mask, red armor on arm and red feet.

It's a pretty easy fix. Just replace the golden shells with red, keep his red mask on for the unity form. I would keep the golden feet though. I like those. With that said, I honestly don't see much wrong with how golden he is. Golden boy Tahu. He is pure gold. A treasure to behold. ....December....please come soon.....

...the most offputting thing on these is the gold and silver on their masks. On smaller toa when united there is no gold expect for their mask and it will clash awfully. On larger toa Onua and Tahu will suffer from the silver because both of them have only a fraction of it. Kopaka's going to work pretty fine due to having only two golden pieces.

The red mask comes with the figure (blended with silver rather than Trans. Orange). The armor is not currently feasible—4M shells don't exist in red. You could change out the feet and hands, if you wanted.

So I use 5M armor, of it will be too big, I use trans orange 4M, and I have red feet.

That's why I think that gold creatures heads will be good to cover their silver hairs.

I see, thanks. That's a shame, which means I'll have to display Kopaka with Melum if I want to balance out the gold on him.

Which is why I keep saying the smaller Toa should've had silver masks instead. Tahu+Ikir looks great because it looks like one whole mask, but that effect is going to be lost on the silver armored Toa and Creatures. My only hope is that those gold masks end up like Onua's torso and Kopaka's blades, but I'm not sure.

While I'm all for silver masks, I fear it will imply the smaller Toa are "weaker" even more.

*Unrealistic dream alert!

Chrome masks anyone? In the future I mean.

I don't see how that would fix the issue of masks "clashing", since chrome clashes with pretty much EVERYTHING (it's one of the main reasons I prefer "pearl" colors, with the other being chrome's propensity for scratches and other wear).

Personally, I don't have a problem with the gold masks. I don't see why they have to match the rest of the Toa's color schemes now any more than they did in 2001.

Yeah, I prefer all the Toa have golden masks so that they have a bit of unity (pun intended) as a solid team. I think the better option would have been for all the creatures to have golden heads, even if they clashed with the color schemes of some. And I will probably swap out some gold on Tahu for red once I get him as well in order to have more of his color represented.

I'm a bit tired of the use of metallic colors. ._. We need more solid up in here. Another thing on my mind, what's with the lack of recolors these days? Like hands and feet, they all seem to be silver, black, gold, or white, as well as trans. And things like this year's(2015) armor add-ons that only have 3 colors for one and one for the other. Is it that costly to produce coherent colors(looking at Tahu 2015 silver)? Not that it bothers me a lot, just nitpicking because I thought CCBS was cheaper to produce. Although I will say after trying to MoC with my ridiculous amount of red bones I'm glad that we haven't gotten too many bones in colors other then black and bley(?).

I really don't like the gold on Tahu Kopaka or Onua it makes there Gold mask seems less special compare to Gali Lewa and Pohatu. And with Tahu being more gold than red in his Unity set it makes his gold mask even more underwhelming. At least Kopaka and Onua are cutting back on the gold accents.

When the Toa Mata got there gold masks they stood out a lot but had an important reason to. If the Toa are to have sets in 2017 I'd really like it if the gold was only for there masks and nothing else.

They look like they have less armor on their hands and feet. This is really the only thing I find that would explain it. I really just want a gunmetal hand piece already.
