aefferen Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 Before I posted about possibility to introduce 11x5 panels trans-clear. This triggered me to make this panel to give the engine compartment a bit more credit. This is definitely a nice to have mod. Just replace from step 414 the first panel with this mod. This one into this one . New version building instructions available under same link from former post. Quote
arshiaIQ Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 Isnt it possible to implant Xerion's 3-mode steering module here and use some gearing to decrease movement of rear wheels compared to front? Quote
porsche911bestcarever Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 Hi! Thank you all for the mods, I have used lots of them and work on my Porsche to make it ultimate! I´ve seen many mods for the gearbox and steering, but not much for the looks. I´ve made some small things at the outside and closed some holes, but the orange parts are off, so I have to buy new. If I have the time, I will post Images in a few minutes. Quote
porsche911bestcarever Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 Can anyone please help me how to put pictures here in? I´m not god with computers... Quote
porsche911bestcarever Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 I hope you can see something on the photos: 1. my gearbox [/img] 3. I hope you can see it, the line made with the flex elements is in my model more realistic ) to close holes in the front and at other parts of the model, there are more than 10 of them [/img] 6. Tere are even more Bionicle elements in the site and a orange pin [/img] 8. Roof with switched flex elements and color changed 9M beam [/img] 10.The same [/img] 12.I put the GT3 RS sticker in the middle of the bowled paneel, where it sits on the real car too [/img] I hope you could use it! Jay Psi Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 (edited) Those mods look really good, but you might want to fix those links... It looks like you've selected "photo for forum" when you uploaded the images, but "thumbnail for forum" is the better (working) option, as so: This also keeps the pictures under the 1024 x 768 pixel limit on Eurobricks while maintaining the link to the larger version on Fotos-Hochladen (the option you chose looks to me as if it would have exceeded this limit). I hope you don't mind me uploading one of your pictures as an example, I will remove it on request. Alternatively, you could use Flickr which automatically resizes the images to forum-friendly limits. It's not my personal recommendation, but someone is going to suggest it anyway Edited August 25, 2016 by Jay Psi Quote
porsche911bestcarever Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 Now it works: 1. My gearbox 2. More realistic paddles and PDK DNR-leaver 3. I hope you can see it, the line made with flex elrments looks better if you make sure the orange pin is horizotal 4. I used Bionicle elements (Ihope they are called so ) to close holes in the front and at other points, there are more than 10 of them 5. I made the front hood bigger, the black stipe lets air in (real car ) 6. There are even more Bionicle elements and a orange pin in the side 7. At this picture you can see it better 8. Roof with swithed flex elements and color changed 9M beam 9. Hole at the rear closed 10.The same 11.Another hole closed and another Bionicle element used 12.I put the GT3 RS sticker in the middle of the bouwled paneel, where it sits at the real car 13.Another Bionicle element used to close a hole Now I have to buy new Bionicle elements (are they called so??? I hope you know which I mean... ) Quote
Didumos69 Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 (edited) ... Nice cosmetic MODs and your gearbox looks just perfect! Edited August 26, 2016 by Didumos69 Quote
porsche911bestcarever Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 (edited) Here is a Idea for the Mirrors: I am working on Interieur and try to place the Porsche cupholders over the glove bag. Making sunblendes and inside mirror should be very easy. @Didumos69 Yes, I used your mods Edited August 28, 2016 by porsche911bestcarever Quote
porsche911bestcarever Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 Alternative paddle versions: I think the last is the best, because if you make the paddle too long to the bottom, it can scratch over the beam and block. Quote
Didumos69 Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 (edited) Just added a post about a redesigned paddle shifter unit in my ultimately playable thread: Edited August 26, 2016 by Didumos69 Quote
porsche911bestcarever Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 Can you please give me a file of the complete Porsche in LDD? Quote
Didumos69 Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 (edited) Can you please give me a file of the complete Porsche in LDD? The best I have is the LXF-file for my 'ultimately playable version'. It contains the model upto Box 2, both the original (left, drivers view) and my modded version (right, drivers view). It does not yet contain my paddle shifter unit mod. Furthermore I know efferman shared a file with the whole model (with substitutes for missing parts) in this thread a few month ago, so that means navigating through all the 20+ pages... nerdsforprez Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 (edited) Now it works: 1. My gearbox Yes... great looking modifications.... Edited August 27, 2016 by nerdsforprez Quote
JJ2 Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 Now I have to buy new Bionicle elements (are they called so??? I hope you know which I mean... ) They are called "Bionicle 1x3 tooth with axle hole" Quote
porsche911bestcarever Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 I tried to use oval cockpit windshields for the ligts. At the moment, they look worse, but I think we have to modify the complete area arond the ligts. And has somebody tryed to put the RC buggy motors in? Quote
JJ2 Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 has somebody tryed to put the RC buggy motors in? I don't think so but if you did I would recommend a 3:1 gear ratio. Quote
starstreak Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 OMG, all I need to do was put the part on backwards? Please tell me it was just printed wrong in the instructions and they didn't see it. That's so dumb. Hi fellas, I think I find a permanent solution for the double engagement issue. It is a possible mistake in the instructions. Please watch the video I've just uploaded. Thanks for your attention, give me some feedback how does it perform for you. I have no idea how to insert the video here, so I link it I made it finally (I mean the video insertion) Quote

starstreak Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 It must be late. I don't seem to see what else was done. To stop the gear from back peddling a little after every shift, it seemed like he switched that one red pieces around? There is more to it: see Rebrickable. Also, for those who did the chassis mod to be removed from the body, am I right in assuming that besides the red locking pins, you still need to remove the black pieces that hold the lower window frame down, the center console, then the grey cross member beam to remove the chassis? To stop the gear from back peddling a little after every shift, it seemed like he switched that one red pieces around? That's indeed the only change in the video and it helps to reduce backlash. What I meant to say is that a few more things can be done to make the orange flaps to the side of the gearbox align perfectly. Not to mention the improvements that can be done to reduce friction in the drive train. Quote

Yes to the first one, but mine is modified so the center console and grey cross member can stay. Quote
porsche911bestcarever Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 Has someone ideas how to build a Sport Chrono clock for the HOG? (It´s the clock on the dashboard, the Sport Chrono Package gives you a stop clock for lap times and a launch control) And theres an unlogical design issue: there are five instruments ( with Sport Chrono cloch six) on the dashboard, not three. I did something like this for my dash gear indicator in my ultimately playable version: LXF-file here. Quote
