BaneShake Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 Ahh yeah. That would be interesting I've been half-tempted to get one just to make a custom Mogo, mainly because I can. Planetary characters might be the least offensive characters Lego could release for the giveaways. Quote
Umbra-Manis Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 DC: -Movie Clark Kent -SS Joker Marvel: -Doctor Strange Civilian Variant -Spider-Knight Quote
adotnamedstud Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 Going to actually try. DC - far fetched but I think a TV show figure would work. I think maybe the Atom or White Canary seeing as those characters, especially the Atom has been present in every CW show, figure he might reuse the Superman head as Routh obviously played Superman before. Or White Canary as LEGO really needs to represent the opposite gender in these exclusives more. Marvel - I would die if they released that "Hail Hydra" Cap as it's really the ideal Captain America suit in my opinion, and has a fantastic retro shield to accompany it. If not for the compelling design, it might br all the controversy around it that adds appeal to the fig. My second guess for Marvel would be a battle damaged Avenger from AoU, as odd as a choice it is, a ripped up War Machine suit would be pretty great. Or Stark, they could reuse the Silver Centurion head. Or perhaps Peggy Carter as it's really the pinnacle of her popularity and it's foolish to not try at the least. (Not sure how many guesses we get but whatever.) I really hope that eventually LEGO makes more female heroes even if they're SDCC figs. We've been lacking a fantastic line up of heroes other than the often oddly rehased Black Widow. Scarlet Witch, Agent 13, and White Tiger were a breath of fresh air! Quote
halomaster96 Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 DC: Rebirth Wally West Zoom (CW) Marvel: Zemo (comics or movie) Spider-Gwen Whatever they end up being I hope they're not too difficult to get this time since I'm going. Quote
wesker Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 Beast Mystique -Gambit -Rogue Apocalypse (big fig) I would cry if any of these happened. No more SDCC exclusive X-Men! Its bad enough we missed out on Phoenix Jean Grey in a set. Quote
Gomek Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 I'm hoping there's one of each for Marvel and DC with maybe a figure or two from other themes as they've done for the last couple of years. I'm probably not going to hazard a guess as it's a complete stab in the dark and we'll get to know in around 3-4 weeks anyway. Just curious, why are you hoping for this? I don't get why people enjoy paying $150 for a minifigure on ebay? Enjoy having holes in their collection? Enjoy paying a hefty price for a convention ticket so you can stand in line for a figure you may or may not get? Are any of these things better than walking into the Lego store at your leisure and buying a $26 set with 4 new figures in it? I'm really not trying to be a jerk. I genuinely don't understand why anyone who loves mini-figures would support this practice. Quote
Ultron Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 Marvel: -Deadpool variant -MCU Baron Zemo DC: -some sort of batman variant -DCEU civilian wonder woman It's bad enough we missed out on Phoenix Jean Grey in a set. I still cry about this at night. Super low move, Lego. Quote

I hope it's only one of each as there will definitely be exclusives so I'd much prefer it to be just one each of DC and Marvel rather than two. I've bought pad printed customs of a couple of SDCC DC figures so there aren't those gaps in my collection. I'd rather they didn't make them at all but reality is they'll be there. I'd also rather they made them advance figures such as Azog but release them later... That way the package is exclusive but the figure is only exclusive for a while. AnnaBuildsLego Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 I definitely agree with you guys, I wish Lego didn't make exclusive minifigs for SDCC. I've bought pad printed customs of a couple of SDCC DC figures so there aren't those gaps in my collection. Those sound cool, do you mind showing some pictures of them? I too would be reasonably happy to rely on custom DC minifigs if they were good enough quality, but I haven't been able to find anywhere that makes minifigures like that. The only minifigures I have that are probably custom ones are some I picked up at a comic convention in the midst of my Dark Ages, so I don't really know if they are official figures or made of any official pieces. I have a Green Arrow to replace the SDCC one that way! Quote

I'd say if they were bought at a convention a couple of years ago and didn't cost at least £30 each then it's a bootleg minifig probably from China. There are some very good bootlegs and some very bad ones. I'll PM you with the link to the pad printed figures to not clog the thread up... these ones are on genuine Lego and are very good. jurrobear Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 Collecting these at SDCC has become one of my favorite things about the convention. I did start noticing how much bigger the lines are now. It feels like you have to commit more time to being in line if you want one due to the line being filled with flippers. Quote
tafkatb Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Now, you say someone only gets credit for their guess if they're the first person to post it, but surely a special prize should go to the first person to correctly guess both in one post? Quote
NXS7 Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 We've had 3 pages, Amazingbricks, do you think you could say yes or no if anyone (without saying who or what they said) has guessed correctly? Quote

I take that as there are only two SDCC exclusive minifigures again this year, one for DC, and another for Marvel... Quote
TheBrickBuilder14 Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 (edited) Here are my guesses: Marvel: Classic Vision DC: Batwoman Edit: Since Raven has now been sort of confirmed to appear in Dimensions I have removed her. Edited June 9, 2016 by TheBrickBuilder14 Quote

NXS7 Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 Thought I saw The Brick Fan post that one is a Walking Dead figure. Hmm... Interesting. Likely Rick, Negan, Daryl or a Walker (or maybe it'll be one of those sets, and we could have more than one person) Quote
BaneShake Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 Thought I saw The Brick Fan post that one is a Walking Dead figure. I don't think Lego has rights to any of Image comics characters. This sounds highly unlikely to me. Quote
