Ceroknight Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 Meh I guess I'm glad I'm never gonna get those Quote
halomaster96 Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 Sounds good for exclusives. I'm honestly shocked it isn't knightmare batman. Hopefully they have enough for everyone this year. They're 50/50 chance thing is really stupid. I hope they've got enough so I could maybe get more than one of each this time (still need Shazam, bizarro, and Phoenix). That ultra agents helmet would be perfect and I'd prefer that to just the regular head. Quote
adotnamedstud Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 Congrats to those who guessed them first! Real sleuths you lot. Quote
albertbalanza Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 Our Chinese friends are just waiting for the images of the figures to appear and they'll be flooding the market. Funnily enough there are already two Atom figures due for release. That aside, that Cap design is really nice. Not sure whether they'll dual mould the arms with print added but it should be a really nice figure. If they don't product unique moulds for SDCC figures what kind of shield will they include? I guess the copycat folks at China were at it already. Found these over at eBay recently: Minifigure Price Guide also pointed out similar minifigs that he stumbled upon over at eBay. These LEGO knock offs are notorious in copying leaked images of the originals and they can, unfortunately, get away with it. All they have to do is to modify any small detail from the original design and they're off the hook. So it will not be a long shot if this year's exclusive SDCC LEGO minifigures will very much look like these. Quote
NXS7 Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 (edited) That Captain Germany is basically a fan made recolour of the CA:TWS suit, the variant we're receiving will be the All New, All Different Steve Rogers Captain America Edited July 8, 2016 by Quicksilver838 Quote
Borex Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 That Captain Germany is basically a fan made recolour of the CA:TWS suit, the variant we're receiving will be the All New, All Different Steve Rogers Captain America Actually his name is Militant i believe. Quote
albertbalanza Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 Actually his name is Militant i believe. I guess its probable that it refers to the Militant, considering that this alternate world (Earth 616), 'Hyrda' re-imagining of Cap is close to the comic version as seen in his first appearance in Amazing Spider Man #519. NXS7 Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 I would call it a mix between CA:TWS suit, Militant and the color black Quote
HyperOnion Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 (edited) That Captain Germany is basically a fan made recolour of the CA:TWS suit, the variant we're receiving will be the All New, All Different Steve Rogers Captain AmericaYup. Reminder, this is the suit it's being based on: I'm assuming the shield will be based on that new Nexo Knights piece, not the circular one (if they include the shield at all, that is). Also, I'm real surprised we haven't seen official images yet--ComicsAlliance had whole article about other toy companies' SDCC exclusives, and we're getting 2017 images already, but... nothing for Lego for SDCC yet. Weird. Edit: Trying a different, smaller image. Edited July 8, 2016 by HyperOnion Picture is Too Big Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted July 8, 2016 Author Posted July 8, 2016 They'll be revealed sooner than you think, and I expect this type of shield for cap: http://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/9KQAAOxypNtSf~Ob/s-l300.jpg Or they can go with the series 13 Egyptian shield. The first option is much better. Quote

BaneShake Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 And the color black :-D Can't forget the color black. Cap's worst enemy. :D Seriously, though, is it possible LEGO is keeping a tighter lid on these intentionally? We've seen several figures leaked out early the last several months (blue Nightwing, for example), so they may just be upping precautions for the rare figures. Quote
Suproc Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 I hope that LEGO goes back and re-releases some of the classic figures they've released. I mean like this Captain America, I don't care if I get my hands on him. Something like the ASM2 Spider-Man, again, we have so many it doesn't matter. But stuff like the Phoenix or Spider-Woman, those are classic superheroes that now cost like $250. I'm not familiar on the Atom except that he is a rip-off of Ant-Man or something but again, that's kind of unfair to those DC fans. I like what they did with Rocket Raccoon, made a nice little set and then later released him again by himself. Quote

Robianco Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 I like what they did with Rocket Raccoon, made a nice little set and then later released him again by himself. They did that with Azog as a figure in blister packaging as well as Bard the Bowman. He only thing the packaging didn't have was the word 'Exclusive' on it so they ended up just as preview figures. You'd have felt very silly paying over the odds just for it to appear in a set a few months later. If it doesn't say 'Exclusive' on the backing card then it won't be. Rocket was good because it was in a set and I'm not sure they've done exclusive figures in sets. I think that was the same year as the mini '66 Batmobile which had the figures from the Juniors set and the Superman and Ultron sets from last year... nice exclusive little sets but no exclusive figures in them. Amazing Bricks Posted July 8, 2016 Author Posted July 8, 2016 (edited) I remember when a lady paid $1000 for azog to give to her husband. I bet she regretted that as soon as the dol guldur battle set came out. Edited July 8, 2016 by amazingbricks Quote
Duncan Young Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 My bad, the Ray Palmer Atom who can shrink showed up only a year before Antman, sorry Quote

Small exclusive sets with a figure who's going to get a mass release later, or exclusive packaging of a preview figure would be much less annoying--can still maintain it's collectability, without being as annoying for fans of that character who can't afford the ridiculous mark up. If they did Spider-Woman now it would probably be in her updated costume (which I'm good with, since the old one is... pretty outdated). I'm also guessing they'd go with a different Jean Grey costume if they put her in an X-Men set now... Quote

Venkefedo Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 (edited) Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that Spider-Girl? In the Ultimate comics, she's definitely Spider-Woman... took the name Jessica Drew & everything. I'm not sure how that stacks up with the USM cartoon (where I think the "Spider-Girl" they've had dresses more like Mayday Parker), or whether she's in Earth-616 now post-Secret Wars (Miles made the jump over, but I don't know how many other former USM characters transitioned with him) Isn't the bridge the Ultimate Spider-Man animated series on Disney XD? They do some odd things with the Spidey sets... some are clearly more cartoon-based than others. Like, in the cartoon, Rhino is a guy who's mutated into a big rhino guy... but in the Lego set with Rhino, they based it more on ASM2's version--a guy in a mech-suit (which is sorta like what Ultimate Rhino was in the comics, but not 616 Rhino either). The Bridge Battle has the "Web Warriors" title, which screams 'cartoon', but Aunt May in the set is closer to a semi-classic 616 portrayal, while the cartoon's Aunt May is very much more like the Ultimate comic version--younger, hipper, just with shorter gray hair that doesn't get put in a bun. I'll throw in my agreement for the Rocket Raccoon or Azog model of SDCC exclusive figures... the Spider-Woman/Phoenix/Bizarro/Shazam model is no good. Tho it was still a bit troublesome to acquire that Rocket, being part of a TRU promo and dependent on how your local TRUs were managed and/or how many folks tried to get multiples. NXS7 Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 (edited) Isn't the bridge the Ultimate Spider-Man animated series on Disney XD? It is not, no Starting from 2015 the Spider Man sets started to be more based on comic books. Seeing as Miles Morales and Carnage only appeared in one episode (back then at least) and Rhino Mech, Scarlet Spider (Ben), old Vulture, Spider Girl, costumed Green Goblin, Ghost Rider, Hobgoblin, Captain Stacy don't appear in the show... I don't want to clog up the thread so if anyone has any queries about any of the Marvel animated shows, just PM me, I know almost everything about them Edited July 8, 2016 by Quicksilver838 Quote
HyperOnion Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 Okay you got me there.... But technically they are both Jessica Drew minifigures (SDCC being mainstream earth-616 and Bridge being Ultimate comics) Sort of? The Ultimate Jessica Drew is an almost completely different character then 616 Jessica Drew. She's closer to Ben Reilly then Jessica Drew proper, being a clone of Peter Parker in the Ultimate version of the Clone Saga. It's one of those ways that the Ultimate Universe lost the thread as it went on, making continuity WAY more confusing instead of being the continuity-lite version of Marvel it started out as (case in point, why did Ultimate Jessica Drew switch to the Black Widow codename? I get it's a cool spider name but man does that confuse up all the things for readers)... I mean heck, 616-Jessica Drew was under the Avenger's banner for most of her existence (what up, origin all full of Wundagore Mountain and the High Evolutionary and HYDRA), and only recently moved to the Spider-line. Usually I'm cool with getting an Ultimate version as counting towards getting that character, but... not so much in this case. (and uh... apologies, this is probably way off topic...) Quote
