bmacro Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Hi Lego Train Comunity, when I saw about 2 years ago this picture, I decided i had to build my own version with bricks.. Very simply, I had to a put a lot of stickers on a white "chassis", like the original one ...so I thougt|!!! :cry_happy: ...taking pictures of the old Austrian steam lok RH 310 of 1911, ..and attach the stickers.., like here the designer Gudrun Geiblinger who realized this masterpiece.. Here my "chassis" P1040044 by MASSIMO B, su Flickr together with its smaller brother.. TheJiral Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 (edited) This is the sleekest Taurus Lego model I have seen so far. The design compromises a bit more on the 3D form of the front but makes more than up for it, with its clear lines. I like it, also the regular red version without the sticker. 3D LEGO Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 bmarco, Decals! That must have been a project in and of itself. But the end result was well worth the effort. (I am sure an all white body saved money too.) In your comparison shot I noticed your first Siemens Eurosprinter "Taurus" is a little shorter. Did you decide to lengthen it when you set about to build another one? Or is the prototype actually longer? 3D LEGO Quote
bmacro Posted June 9, 2016 Author Posted June 9, 2016 Thanks to TheJiral. And thanks to 3D LEGO. The decals project was an hard job, but I don't really know: decals by our friend Helos!! PS: Taurus 1216 is 30cm longer than Taurus 1016, my model is 2 studs longer... to much? Quote
3D LEGO Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 bmarco, If ~2 studs is what the difference of 30cm (11.8 in) between the ES 64 U4 (ÖBB class 1216) and the ES 64 U (ÖBB class 1016) comes out to in your scale, go for it. But that does seem a bit much. 3D LEGO Quote
ust60 Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Ciao Massimo, a brilliant idea this original to realize a model. A very, very nice Siemens Taurus. And a very successful presentation. Ich ziehe meine Imaginären Hut. Yours sincerely Udo PS. kurioserweise könnte ihr Jeffrey und Massimo auch auf Deutsch kommunizieren! Quote
zephyr1934 Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 Wow! A great design and unbelievable that you were able to decorate it so spot on. Quote
James Mathis Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 Simply magnificent! You have captured the shape beautifully. I love the front end combination of the curve brick set at angle atop the steep straight slope-- perfect effect! James Quote
Asper Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 Wonderful engine! Great model, you captured many details and the shape very well! Quote
Man with a hat Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 That's a very nice and smooth design. The 7-wide really works well here. Quote
Feuer Zug Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 Very good looking. The lines match well and the stickers are applied with precision. Even the unadorned lines are nice. Quote
bmacro Posted June 18, 2016 Author Posted June 18, 2016 Thanks all !!! Moreover, in order to improve the result, all decals will be changed as soon as a best printer will be found! Bye bye PS: Udo, kein Problem! Zieh deinen Hut wieder auf... Quote
xboxtravis7992 Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 Wow! Great work. The decals are spectacular. If you ever built the steam engine in Lego though, it would be cool to do the decals based on a Lego engine. Just a small idea. Quote
