Because have you seen the K'nex set? I'm sorry but that thing is an eyesore. There is no comparison between that and this, Lego's looks incredible and actually something I wouldn't mind guests seeing when visiting. Quote

I saw that mentioned earlier in this thread, but haven't seen anything official to support that statement. The set is now on the S@H site (in the US at least), but it only claims it's coming soon on Nov 1st. Nevertheless it can't hurt to check again tomorrow and watch your email. I'd like to get it while the double points are still on offer, but I can always wait until they return again. I'd like to have the set asap, but I don't NEED to have it before double points roll around once more. Quote

Though, I can see why at least some kids might enjoy this. I never watched the movie Yellow Submarine as a kid (at least, as far as I can remember), but I had Beatles cassettes courtesy of my parents, and I loved the sillier songs like "Yellow Submarine" and "Octopus's Garden". Obviously I'm many years older than today's kids, but I think there are probably still plenty of kids and teens who are familiar with the song Yellow Submarine, if not the movie. Good to know, I never really paid attention, but now that I think about it, Ideas sets are def for an older demographic. :) Quote

The sets are either too 80s, or too much display-pieces really. Edited October 15, 2016 by Littleworlds hunting typos! Quote
jonwil Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Does anyone know what hair is on the guys in this set? Looks to me like http://brickset.com/parts/design-62810 http://brickset.com/parts/design-3901 and http://brickset.com/parts/design-40240 (which I believe is new in black) but I cant work out what the hair is on the guy holding the green thing (not a Beatles fan as you can tell :) Anyone know what that hairpiece is? Blondie-Wan Posted October 15, 2016 Author Posted October 15, 2016 I believe the George Harrison minifigure uses the same hair element originally created for Sabine Wren from Star Wars. Quote

legonerd54321 Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Is it just me, but I would LOVE to see Sgt. Peppers Lonely Heart Club Band figures in the near future. Heck, they might give us an official LEGO trombone build, or even mold! Quote

Robianco Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 The Sgt Peppers band figures either from the film or from the Sgt Peppers album would be fantastic. I think the album design with the bright coloured uniforms are easily iconic enough to warrant some kind of add on to this set in some at while still being a standalone release. Now they've negotiated the image rights with EMI and Apple Corps who knows where it might lead. Quote

GeekByKnight Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 Saw this out in real world (shop near me is selling it already and had a built one on display) and it's a hard pass for me. Looks like a glorified duplo set. I'll only pick it up if I see it on sale somewhere, which seems to be quite common with Ideas sets. Quote

Robianco Posted October 29, 2016 Posted October 29, 2016 I'd say over a thousand of these have gone through the till at the Liverpool Store today already. The designer is signing them from 11am to 1pm. Quote

Got there around 9.40 this morning and there was a bit of a queue to buy already... saw people walking with bags on my way from the car so they'd been selling from minute one. Two queues when I got there... one to buy and one for signing. They were bringing cartloads to replenish the display unit. Two per household and most people were doing just that. After I did a bit of shopping I walked past at around 11.15 and the queue for signing was pretty big... I had my 7yr old with me and she was moaning so I didn't queue up. However many they got in I'm not sure they'll have any left tonight. Best thing was my little girl was given several copies of a display sticker which was quite nice. I've claimed on of those.
