Being a bit bored I checked if it might perhaps be available already and it was. Site loaded normally and placing the order was no trouble at all. Might be different when Lego officially announces that the set is available.

Does anyone know the availability of this set in the US? I mean specifically in store, but I'll do online if that's not possible.

It should be available at Lego Stores, Toys R Us stores, and Barnes and Nobles stores across the US (both in-store, and online).

Expect all stores to temporarily sell out on launch day.

Thanks! This indeed looks like something that could easily become addicting. I've always been kind of 'fidgety' with my hands, so Lego seems the perfect answer to that. I'm already looking at some other sets. Some of those Star Wars ones look really nice.

But first, this Saturn! I really hope local toy stores will have it in stock.

Welcome to the group. A lot of people have started coming back to Lego.

I was away from the early/mid 90s until about 3 to 4 years ago. Lego + Star Wars was too hard to ignore.g

I agree about the Saturn... this rocket is an amazing build. I'm excited to see it in person. I'm sitting here in the US waiting for it to switch to "available" on Shop @ Home...

4 minutes past midnight.  Nothing yet, but the site is really slow, as if thousands of people are waiting for that moment............

I'm trying to buy one but Lego's website can stoping eating bags of &?%$.

Their website upgrade is plain putrid for a multi billion dollar company.

It is in the cart, but cannot get past checkout page or apply the VIP points I have saved up for 6 months.  Lego really really needs to explore the concept of preorder.

The website logged me out, now I can't even sign back on.

Now the website doesn't even want to display sets category without giving me generic ''call customer service'' message.

AFOL are not big on their market but they sure can wreck their crappy shop@home website...

The shop at home site is an embarrassment. TLG should be ashamed not having extra server capacity on hand for what was guaranteed to be a ridiculously high traffic period.

Picked up my rocket from the Dreamworld store, no problems whatsoever getting one (I was there when they opened at 9am. When I left at 10:30 they still had a a bunch on the shelf and probably more in the back)

Even got a bonus 30611 R2-D2 polybag (the Dreamworld store was doing them with any purchase over a certain amount and I was lucky enough to get one of the few they had left)

One hour later, and the order goes through!  Funny thing is that I got the site survey request about 20 minutes ago.  Probably the only negative survey I have ever given The Lego Company.

The site was ''stuck'' at confirming my payment info. I got bored and refreshed the page and checked my orders. Everything was there.

What a complete shit show.

Does anyone know if this is likely to be available in store today in the UK in either Toys'R'Us, Smyths or John Lewis? Don't really want to make the drive over to the retail park if it's going to be a wasted trip.

I don't think Smyths or ToysRUS have it yet but John Lewis have been selling it since last Thursday so they might have it but why not give them a call and find out?

I find this whole start of sale very frustrating.

I was checking the S@H site the whole day yesterday until 17:00 just to see if maybe it will be available to order earlier. Just as I stopped checking as I see it was made available.

At least they could inform VIP-s when the sale is starting, this way I went out, got sh*tfaced, and when I woke up today at 6:45 the first thing I did I checked the site and it was already back ordered.

Pretty pissed with LEGO right now....

I think - at least in my country and around it in EU - LEGO stores have Ideas sets first exclusively, and then some time later the retailers get them. (someone correct me if I'm wrong)

Edit:  Now showing 30 day backorder online  Hopefully it will not go to out of stock status where it no longer allows you to place an order.

Now the fun begins for those who plan on going to the Lego Store today to get one.  If last night was any indication of demand, then my suggestion would be to get there early before it opens and try to look through the windows to figure out exactly where they are going to be in the store.  It would honestly surprise me if the Lego Stores allowed 5 per customer like the online site does.  Imagine the tension that would create of someone bought the last 5 and there were people in line behind them wanting just one.  The store in Dallas is not that big, so they only have room for so many of these at any given time.  Glad I do not have to go there and compete with everyone else to get one.

I am going to go out on a limb and say this will probably be the most successful Ideas set ever, if not one of the most successful Lego sets of all time.  It has a very broad appeal to various groups.

That's a fair assumption, I just wonder if they keep the run as limited as the other ideas sets, or will this success make them extend the production?

Waiting in the parking lot of my local Lego Store... absolutely nobody is here. But that beautiful set is in the window !

Just finished assembling the Saturn V, its easily the best set of 2017 so far, beating even the Assembly Square.

It's on the UK site now, I've just had a look.

Its already on back order in the UK expected deliveries to start 15th June

30 Day backorder, 8:30 am US Eastern Time , got an e-mail confirmation of shipping delay.  Usually, though, the wait time is a lot less.

My SO who obviously loves me very much, went to our local LEGO shop a little before opening and got in line. Apparently, there were only 12 sets available and thankfully she was 7th in line. Surprised they didn't have more sets at the store.

Good luck to everyone else hoping to get a set.
