Posted June 14, 20168 yr Hi! I've added additional videos - winter test-drive and mechanisms review: Hello! After my Feller-Buncher I've decided to create one more forest tractor – it's John Deere Skidder 648L. Skidder is a type of heavy vehicle used in a logging operation for pulling cut trees out of a forest. Unfortunately the scale of my skidder differs from the scale of the Feller-Buncher because there are no such a big wheels in Lego. Maximum dimensions: 50x18x22 cm, clearance – 2.5 cm, the weight – 1660 g, the scale 1:19. There are nine PF motors, four IR receivers and one LiPo in my model. We have eight RC functions here: 1. All-Wheel Drive, two L-motors; 2. Steering, articulated chassis, M-motor; 3,4. Two-stage crane, two M-motors; 5. The claw, M-motor; 6. Claw rotation, M-motor. Also we can rotate the claw manually; 7. The blade in the front, M-motor; 8. The winch for trees pulling. Also my model has pendular front suspension like the original machine. Video demonstration: And more photos of course: Flickr: https://flickr.com/photos/141718063@N06/albums/72157669256376081 Thanks for watching! June 14, 20168 yr I was waiting for the class wheels for building another skidder, cat or tigercat in my case, congratulations for one of the best machines I have ever seen.
June 14, 20168 yr Fantastic! Looks like the real thing and really like how you incorporated so many functions. Thanks for sharing!
June 14, 20168 yr Very nice Desert and seeing the model in its natural habitat makes for good pictures.I am currently nearing the finish line on the build of your Feller Buncher and if that is anything to go by and your video this skidder's functions work smoothly and at a good speed. Top Job, so when the time comes I for one would be interested in instructions. Edited June 14, 20168 yr by Technic-Kobaltz
June 14, 20168 yr I really liked building the Feller Buncher but I had to take it apart for power functions. It was a great build. I am looking forward to build the skidder. It also has great form and function. Thanks for making plans!!
June 14, 20168 yr Great work. I love how Lego has been slowly adding more and more green parts. It make beautiful MOCs like this possible.
June 14, 20168 yr My family actually owns a logging buisness and I have experience with these machines, my uncle operates a john deere skidder like this one, I have seen them up close and personal. You did a great job.

June 14, 20168 yr Author Thanks for kind words!!! I was waiting for the class wheels for building another skidder, cat or tigercat in my case, congratulations for one of the best machines I have ever seen. I think many builders are waiting for these wheels. As for me - I want to construct new grader with Claas wheels. I think you've nailed it. Where have you housed those motors? H It wasn't too easy to hide them. There are no free space inside the model. Great job with the shape and functions, could I see an underside shot? Thanks! I'll take the bottom view tomorrow!
June 14, 20168 yr Your models never cease to impress me. You did a great job on this, it's so realistic.
June 14, 20168 yr This weekend I told Sheepo that class wheels will bring us big graders sooner or later jajaja.

June 14, 20168 yr :))) I have an old score with graders... http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=84978 Me too... but go first with yours.
June 15, 20168 yr This looks amazing! I tried making a 6 wheeled log skidder with Midstorms NXT, but do to lack of parts, the frame design, and coloring suffered greatly, not to mention the teeny wheels.
June 15, 20168 yr Looking very clean and lot's of working functions. Looks a lot like the real one. Great work!
