From the diary of Anton D'Oro:

Worry not poor neglected diary... I am still alive and well. After we killed the wolf of Drond's Fields, we went in search of the treasure that supposedly lay in a swamp nearby. After many hours of miserable searching, we came across an old blackened tree and another monster- a wailing banshee. As usual, Kyros seemed undisturbed and made straightway towards it. I followed close behind. As he neared the banshee, Kyros stopped and spoke in a language I could not understand. The banshee screamed. Kyros spoke some more. The banshee screamed some more. This kept on for quite some time and finally Kyros turned to me and told me we needed to bring the body with us. I asked him what body and the banshee moved a little ways off and pointed at the ground. Kyros and I waided through the muck to where the banshee waited. Sure enough a partially decomposed corpse lay nearly buried in the mud. Kyros took off his cape and I helped him wrap the corpse in it. I of course was given the duty of carrying it. Kyros spoke some more in the unknown language and poof the banshee disappeared. Kyros asked for my sword and then waded back to the old blackened tree. He began hacking at its roots and before long had pulled a chest out from beneath it. He didn't bother to open it but turned and told me that we needed to meet with an old friend right away.

This was just the beginning of a great many adventures that have kept me too busy to find time to write them down but I hope to slowly record them one by one. That I think is all for today. Next time perhaps I'll write about the meeting with Kyros' old friend Kha or perhaps the path of eyes....

Farewell till next time!

Good ground cover and a really nice tree, I especially like the 'NPU' use of claws as roots. I'm only not really sure about the red border for the build, I don't really know how to put it in words but the best way I could describe it is that it seems to distract from the rest of the build.

Nicely done, the tree angle is excellent. A dark red might have worked better here, the bright red distracts from the build.

How did you do that first photo? I am guessing slow shutter speed and a white balance effect.

Delightfully spooky tree  The vegetation is also excellent, and it's great to see a new GoH build from you

Sweet use of the claw piece for the roots of the tree :classic:

Awesome tree, Mike, and great to see you building in the guilds again! Excellent part usage, and the black trunk really works wonderfully! I hope we'll be seeing more of your monster hunting adventures soon! :classic:

The tree is great, I agree that the use of Bionicle claw pieces as roots is clever! The little story is good and makes me hope you will write in your diary more often!:thumbup:

Great little build Mike, the tree is a beauty. I like the mushroom peeking out from beneath one of the roots. The subtle change in ground colour beneath the vegetation is nice too.

Thanks! Been meaning to use those pieces as roots for a few years now....

Thanks! Unfortunately that is how my camera prefers to take pics. 8 times out of 10 so I'm assuming there is a problem with the auto-focus with no way to turn it off. Time for a new camera but no idea which to get.

That first image is amazing!

Great vegetation, great tree!

Thanks!

Thank you! Its been too long...

I agree that the red border is off putting, but I like the overall Moc!

Thanks! Red for Kaliphlin and the only color I had on hand.

I really like the tree... Nice job there Mike!

Thanks!

I like the landscaping and editing effect, but that tree sets the mood. Didn't know Avalonia had scary places like that.

Thanks! Avalonia shouldn't but I suspect that it is overflow from Nocturnus.

Thanks! I have quite a few ideas... we will see what I have time for but I plan to continue Kyros/Masa and Anton's adventures. They will be meeting quite a few interesting characters I think, not all of whom are monsters. :classic:

Thanks! I do plan to chronicle Masa's future adventures through Anton's diary.

Very nice tree! :sweet:

Thanks!

As everyone else has said, fantastic work with that tree! The rest of the vegetation is excellent too, gives a very swampy feel

Thank you!

ooh I love that first picture :D

Thanks! That was quite unintentional haha!

Great build and story Mike! This is a great follow to the Wolf of Drond's Field

Thank you! Looking forward to your build!

Thanks! Trying to add more color to my builds as I have a tendency to build with few colors.
