Queen Annetta read the intercepted letter with curiosity.

Dear Mstr. Aidan Coyle, esq.

It was with great pleasure that I received your enquiry. As you have no doubt heard , Charlatan Bay is a thriving community that includes amongst its erstwhile population many ex-pats of Corrington lineage (my humble person included). While the majority of our population is devoted to the old faith in spite of the unfair persecution of the Church of Oleon, we treat all of other beliefs as per adage “treat thy neighbour as you would be treated”. Our Bishop memories are long, but his justice… fair.

As the financial secretary, and soon to be named mayor, of Charlatan Bay, the Bishop has tasked me oversee the daily running of our community and to develop commercial ventures in order to keep our economy viable. At present, our nascent efforts involve the attempt to establish my trading concern (i.e. Willem Morris Tobacco Traders Limited), but the addition holdings to our colony by the Coyle Trading Company would be a blessing.

As such, please find attached a deed for land title to a lot within the limits of Charlatan Bay for you to use at your leisure. This will be for use of you and your progeny in perpetuity, under no threat of taxation or annexation, as long as the present administration holds office.

As well, Bishop Meloche has informed me that he was moved by your plight and has vowed that should any Coyle Shipping Coyle ship fall into his possession, we will return it forwith without any expense to you, and hopes that he can expect the same consideration. Any damages occurred during a meeting will not be accounted for however.

Once again, I thank you for your enquiry and I look forward to seeing the Sulky Harlequin make port in the near future.

Your humble Servant,

Mstr. Willem J. Morris

(colloquially known as “Big Tobacco”)

She wondered what that Coyle fellow was up to. Supposedly he was repairing Fort Arlin in Arlinsport but it seemed he was busy getting distracted in other matters and investing in a tavern in a Sea Rat town was even more disturbing. Perhaps she should have a word with him.... Or perhaps she should just send a spy to keep an eye on the Smuggler's Tavern keeper... what was his name again? Borden Appleby?

Your story is definitely starting to get quite interesting! The building and landscape are very nice, and your Masa palms look great here! pirate_wink.gifpirate_satisfied.gif I'm certainly looking forward to seeing where you take your story!

The bucket palm tree is really good, and the white and brown for the house looks great! The dash of bright vegetation toward the right adds a lot too!

On behalf of Bishop Meloche and the resident's of Charlatan Bay, let me be the first to heartily welcome Borden Appleby to our happy community. Your new establishment is a welcome addition and I am positive you will find over the coming years that your clientele is both polite and generous. I look forward to seeing you at the next merchant and commerce committee meeting.

May your bread never harden and your taps never run dry!

Your humble servant,

Mstr. Willem J. Morris,

Mayor of Charlatan Bay &

Private Secretary for Bishop Meloche

The building is very nice and follows a certain colonial style. But the owner...isn't he too "properly" dressed?? And that strange haircut. I bet he isn't up to something good...

Really nice colonial style, Mike. I am wondering if it is safe to keep dealing with Coyle Shipping, though, with these odious connections... pirate_tong.gif

The palms and the surrounding landscape is very well built too!

I like this building particularly the colonial design and the roof technique. Good work on the sand and boardwalk, though it might need swept a little more. The palm trees really add a lot to this build. The large one out front is a great idea! The tops of the back ones definitely have a great look also.

That story though...pirate_sceptic.gif Keep up the good work.

Thanks! Well, I'm aiming to see how much trouble I can get Aiden into haha!

Neat build! I like the roof!

Thanks!

Thank you! I can never get enough leaves especially now with all the different colors!

Thanks! Well Borden is probably one of my more honorable characters although a bit naive.

Nice house with beautiful palm trees!

Thank you!

Thanks! The Coyle's are strong supporters of the queen so you should have nothing to worry about.

Nice work, I really like the fat palm tree!

Thanks!

Thank you! Is that an IC or OOC comment about the story though? pirate_classic.gif

Lovely tavern. It definitely has the colonial look. Those palm trees look great, especially the big half-barrel trunk. The tavern owner may be just a bit... different perhaps but it's still a fine build.
