Posted June 21, 20168 yr I'm interested in getting one of the Creator house sets: 31012-1 Family House 7346-1 Seaside House 5771-1 Hillside House 5891-1 Apple Tree House 4996-1 Beach House 4954-1 Model Town House 4956-1 House I'd like it if my daughter could use the set as a play house for minifigs, so play features and ability to access various parts of the house are important. For my own sake, an interesting build and good alternate models would be nice. Lastly, if the set could either be easily converted into a modular building or at least provide a lot of useful parts for building modulars, that would be a bonus. (Posting this to the town forum even though these are Creator sets because the subject matter otherwise seems like a good fit.)
June 21, 20168 yr If you want access and play features, 4954 and 4956 are out. They don't have any interior or anything like that.
June 21, 20168 yr For me it is the Apple Tree House.. Looks great and has some nice details as a lawn mower....!!
June 21, 20168 yr The Hillside House. My daughter still loves it. Good build. ps I think creator houses fit better in "Town" then friends (who are so big to warrant an own subforum).
June 22, 20168 yr Though it's on the more expensive side, I'd say go with the family home. It has cars, minifigures, toys, a little bit of furniture, and a really nice light up feature for play. On top of that the build is a really unique modern house with a lot of useful pieces.
June 25, 20168 yr My wife is very fond of Apple Tree House. She periodically redresses it for the season, puts Halloween stuff all over it and puts all the costume and monster Minifigures from the "CMF" line out in the yard around Halloween, etc.
June 26, 20168 yr Put me down for Apple Tree House as well, though Family House is a very close second.
June 26, 20168 yr 5891-1 Apple Tree House would be an excellent choice. It was one of the first large Creator houses I built and still I think one of the best.
June 26, 20168 yr I think 4954 is the best option for parts, actually, that set was my first parts back (I got two) when I was just starting to get into MOCing. Though the hillside house is a much better play set though.
June 30, 20168 yr I've always loved the Beach House (4996) in spite of its small size. I thought its modern style was really cute, and some of the details are really nice, such as the interior fireplace, barbecue grill, and outdoor patio with seating area. There's enough room indoors for you to add furniture on both floors, which cannot be said for all the Creator houses. The Beach House was also very budget-friendly when it was first released; I doubt the same can be said now but I'm sure you could BrickLink the pieces without too much difficulty. The Beach House set also makes a great parts pack if you ever decide to tear it down because it contains a lot of windows, doors, and black slanted roof pieces. I actually have two sets; one still stands in my city because I like it so much and the other was broken down for parts.
July 1, 20168 yr I love the family house because 1. It is large and will offe a challenge for your little girl 2. The exterior offers play features and looks very nice 3. The interior is extensively detailed with a turning on light and a bed and fireplace with a desk and chair. 4. There is also a very nice car with a working brick built garage. 5. The other builds have a lot of thought put into them and will offer a great play experience. 6. It has many great pieces for mocs
