July 11, 20168 yr You don't know what you're missing... ;) I do! I'm missing some chinese knock-offs, bootlegs, and even more! IMO, the knock-offs and bootlegs look nothing like real LEGO, which is why I don't get them. Some of them are better than others, like Zebra Batman and Spider-Gwen, (mostly Christo stuff), but I still don't get them. I'm strictly a LEGO purist. ---------------------------------------------------- But that Rainbow Batman is good... makes me wish there was an official fig for me to buy.

Not to derail the thread about the Rainbow Batman but bootlegs and Chinese knockoffs are one thing but a good custom whether it's pad printed or digital can be a superb addition to a collection. I wouldn't want anyone to confuse the two or link bootlegs with customs too closely. Being a purist is a completely fair and reasonable standpoint. As a minifigure fan I'm always interested in a well done custom figure but the design work needs to be right. It can have the most beautiful printing in the world but if it's badly designed it'll look crap. Same as having a well designed figure will look OK even if badly printed but if you put the two of them together you can get something exceptional. I've used bootleg parts but I can honestly put those parts against any Lego figure and nobody would spot the difference in plastic or print quality. I personally fear for my bank balance the day Christo prints up a Rainbow Batman.
July 11, 20168 yr Rainbow batman is just so ridiculous. I like ridiculous. I hope rainbow batman will be in the batman cmf series.
July 11, 20168 yr It's a classic part of Batman's early era. The print on it would be a nightmare to produce though. I can only think something like that would appear in a very expensive set.
July 11, 20168 yr Hah it would be a printers nightmare. But in the cmf series they tend to go all out (dual molding and a lot of printing. New pieces) so it is still a possibility, right? Unless he doesnt appear in the movie of course. Is bat-mite also from that era? I saw some customs of him too. I'd like to see this batman also: http://www.dialbforblog.com/archives/524/batman134sept1960.jpg batman on a 2x4 tile lol
July 11, 20168 yr Aw man, i just took a look at some detective comic covers and they look like real fun comics. I never was into batman (my little brother was) but these early villains are fantastic. If you liketo have some alternate batmen, you can make some purist ones. Genie batman http://www.coverbrow...omics/322-1.jpg use a genie legpiece, a batman torso Mummy batman http://www.coverbrow...omics/320-1.jpg use a mummy torso and legs and head. Switch the hips and give his his mask. The Lord of Batmanor http://www.coverbrow...omics/198-1.jpg give batman the kiltpiece from the cmf series A nice one to get is also this one: http://www.coverbrow...mics/284-11.jpg Edited July 11, 20168 yr by Borex
