I voted for SW because I am a huge fan since I'm a kid ;)

Apart from SW I would have difficulties to choose between horror movies, animes and Pirates of the Carabbeans (yeah, we need a new pirate theme). Imagine a "Black Pearl" with only skeletons Pirates, that would rule *satis*

Those would be my trilogy ;)

Personally I oppose all licences and would prefer LEGO to use their own imaginations when it comes to producing themes - assuming they still have imaginations.

However, since there isn't an option for "no licences" I have to choose one, so I picked Star Wars. Star Wars is at least highly popular and I've seen what's been produced in the past. So I'm sticking to what I already know.

As for Pirates of the Caribbean... I'd rather LEGO didn't do a theme based on that. If they were going to have a Pirate related theme I'd prefer it to be independant of any licence. They still could have a ghost ship like the Black Pearl but obviously with no affiliation to the movie. Afterall... BestBlock has a ghost Pirate Ship so its about time LEGO got their act together and followed suit.

I chose LOTR...

SW is good, very good, but all good things have to end, so what would be the next good thing???? :D

with LOTR I can imagine a lot of sets, with a lot of fine beasts and scenery!!! *glasses*

Without anymore movies planned for Matrix, Lord of the Rings and Back to the Future the likelihood of seeing such LEGO themes would be slim. I.e. The film promotes the LEGO.

However Star Wars may be able to linger longer since its already got an established LEGO fan base plus there will be future television series to continue to promote it.

Now I could be wrong, so someone debate me...

Yep gotta agree with all the other SW fans out there, i hope lego agrees to doing more sets from the upcoming tv series and of course the Expanded Universe to.

Matrix!

Imagine, we could have a wide variety of themes within this one! The Sci-Fi theme brought by the hovercrafts, drones, APUs,... Then a standard city theme (inside the matrix) including cool minifigs and action!

And then we could also have some sets showing e.g. the asian environement from the training fight between Neo and Morpheus or even the settings of some of the Animatrix clips ("Program" e.g.!)

Would be great!

My vote goes to other : Stargate

My 2nd vote would go to this, too! (Just hadn't thought of it before... :$)

Ok, I'm going to be different and vote for none at all.

I think that, with licenses such as LOTR or Matrix, it is better that there are no sets as this allows people to create great MOCs and use much more imagination whilst creating them. For example, since the Snowspeeder set came out how many custom ones have you seen which don't use the same building technique for the wings? With Licenses TLC is providing us with some good sets, but sets which limit our imaginations and don't encourage us to create MOCs.

I couldn't have said it better, which is why I voted "other". I simply want TLC to get back to its roots and avoid licenses that force it to adhere to specific areas where we get sets that limit the imagination (as well as cost TLC $$, that could be better used elsewhere). The original themes used no licenses, and many were done very well (Castle, Pirate, Town, etc.), where are those themes now? This is why my money is only spent on TLC's old product lines... I am optimistic for the future though, gimme more of the Classics LEGO!!! :-D

I went other. If Lego makes sets based on movies I really want to see a Narnia series.

I was going to vote LOTR but I don't want Lego to make sets based of the movie but rather make sets based in imagination with characters from the books instead. Which is also what I would like to see them do with Narnia also. Though a movie based series will be quite good for either if they won't go with books.

i agree with Jon and Ed. you don't need a "Pirates of the Carabbeans license" to have a decent pirates theme... TLC has proven in the past that they can produce a good pirates theme without having a pirates license. i think we're done with these licenses.

Off course you don't need it!!! (quoting tha Pharao " you don't need a "Pirates of the Carabbeans license" to have a decent pirates theme... ").

However, think about the potential commercial impact ;) This movie was a huge hit and the two sequels will be as big!!!! (or even bigger!!)

True, but because the movie was such a great hit, would that not allow Disney (who I believe owns the rights to the movies) to demand a premium ($$) to get such a license (TLC not being the only 'construction toy' probably interested in it). That premium may cost TLC too much $$ to really profit from the 'commercial impact'. Methinks that is what has been happening lately (TLC losing $$ & such, at the same time gobbling up licenses like Harry Potter, SW, Spider-Man, The Discovery Channel, Dora the Explorer, Bob the Builder, etc.)... Is it not better to completely design and market originality within your product than depend upon a license that will cost money and limit you in ways? (refer to SW-Hasbro connection & the reason we see no minifig packs for SW LEGO)... & I hate to say it, but the most successful line within TLC lately has been a completely original idea, anyone heard of Bionicle? It is originality that will give TLC greater success, it has been proven well in the past... It's just my 2 cents...
