Posted June 29, 20168 yr I am making a mini crawler, it is 4-wheel drive, have flex axle suspension (need to buy the flex axles), and steering. I need to get flex axles and a smaller battery box. I also need to make a better body. This is based of a H1 Hummer like this: http://www.thehummerguy.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/img_8875.jpg I based some of my frame of a Pego Suzuki Samurai Rock Crawler http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=136280 but not much. Thank you anyways Pego.
July 1, 20168 yr Author I will be gone for a week but next time I post my crawler body should be done.
July 1, 20168 yr This is the right way to start, it was a good choice to take Pego's chassis as base. It is small, but interesting, good learning material! With some fine tuning, your bodywork will be also better, maybe like an old american truck. :) Please make test video too.
July 1, 20168 yr Author I am making a roll cage body. I need to finish the body and get flex axles and a battery box but here is video. Sorry for bad video. Edited July 1, 20168 yr by Lego2016Lego
July 1, 20168 yr Very powerful for it's size , the new body looks better. The video is working Edited July 1, 20168 yr by LXF
July 1, 20168 yr Looks great! Nice to see someone uses the LDD files I'm making The front axle seems great, but you should lengthen the steering rack by 2 studs if possible, so that it doesn't get reverse ackerman. Also the bodywork seems a little narrow, I'd maybe widen it by 2 studs.
July 2, 20168 yr Nice looking, The steering looks nice and rigid. I would consider moving up to the 62.4mm D. x 20mm tires (from the Mercedes Arocs set) as it will not only have better ground clearance, but it will also have better performance. Edited July 2, 20168 yr by PunkTacoNYC

I would consider moving up to the 62.4mm D. x 20mm tires (from the Mercedes Arocs set) as it will not only have better ground clearance, but it will also have better performance. It depends on the situation, here I'd keep these tires as larger ones raise the COG and makes it prone to tipping, also the ground clearance seems fine. Better performance? Depends, for rocks sure, but mud, sand and other stuff not so much, it's all down to preference. Also larger tires means more torque through the cv joints making them pop easily. So keeping those tires is my advise.
August 9, 20168 yr Author Hi, I am sorry for not posting sooner but I have been moving and just been able to work on it. I will post pics soon but I have redone the front suspension and made the chassis stronger.
