Soupperson1 Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 Im honestly not sure what they'll do for sets, nearly all of the show/comics/books take place in school and occasionally on the streets (not Danny :( ). The only recurring building besides the school is the Capes and Cowls café, which has Steve Trevor as the employee. I guess we could get Batgirl's purple batjet in one of these sets, but it be downsized a lot with these prices. I suspect the smaller sets to be scenes from inside the school wether they be a dorm, Ivy's green house or the fashion design studio. For the characters themselves, mini-doll sets generally have less figures than minifigures. So with that in mind I'm not sure we'll get all seven girls. The school set will most likely have a teacher (Amanda Waller? A Grodd recolours would be hilarious though :P), a female student and a male student as that what they do with the schools in Friends. As for their hairs I'm still convinced Ivy and Harley will use their moulds from the LEGO Batman Movie as they're really close. Wonder Woman and Batgirl will probably need new hairs, but Supergirl and Katanna could easily use existing ones. I'm not sure if any of them need new legpieces, which is good as the new moulds can be used elsewhere. Lastly I suspect they'll use the super pets and beast boy transformed for the animals in these. Coca-Cola Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 (edited) Super bummed out they are using minidolls. I guess it was to be expected, but damn... Thank you for the info by the way! Edited August 12, 2016 by Coca-Cola Quote
Captain Nemo Posted August 12, 2016 Author Posted August 12, 2016 I made a separate topic for DC Girls: http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=138750 Appreciate the enthusiasm! However, I'm going to hide that thread away until we get more substantial information that demands a sub-theme specific thread be made. In the meantime, all the "DC Superhero Girls" discussions can continue on here, in the overarching DC Superheroes 2017 thread. I've merged the previous Girls discussion over. Thanks everyone! Quote

1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 My wife is going to have a blast with these news. Especially now that she's a Harley Quinn fan after watching Suicide Squad. At least someone in our household will be getting the figs. Quote
Deathstroke77 Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 CM4Sci, are these both due in February? Or just the DC Girls line? I wish there was some form of tagging system here. Quote

BlueberryWaffles Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 Ugh. I was really excited for DC Girls until I heard minidolls. I was really hoping for minifigs. Quote
Bricky Dee Williams Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 M-minidolls? No! Well, at least it's a new Poison Ivy. Quote
Ultron Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 That's a lot of sets for a subtheme. That's more than DC generally gets in a wave...lame. Quote

It's not a sub theme, it's a separate theme like Friends is separate to City. That's why it features mini dolls. Besides were getting 15 Batman Movie sets next year, which I'm sure will feature some interesting minifigures, which is what most people care about anyway. :P Do you even know what the DC Girls brand is? It revolves around the girls in high school, Super Hero High is a must for a set. :P Edited August 12, 2016 by Soupperson1 Quote

I'll be honest, I squee'd when you mention Danny the Street. Love me some (Morrison) Doom Patrol! As for DC Girls Superheroes, meh, with minidolls, they'll have to have mind-bogglingly superb set designs to get me even moderately interested. Oh well, I've still got tons of LEGO to spend money on, so no loss. Quote

I just hope we don't get them in those sets. because i want to see them as minifigures first. but i think they could do all seven of the main girls and then do some side characters from the web show who have already been in lego sets such as Beast Boy, Starfire, Catwoman, Hal Jordan and Gorilla Grodd. just to name a few. because I really hope we don't get Amanda Waller, Red Tornado, Cheetah and Star Sapphire before we get them as minifigures. It's unlikely we'll get to many original characters, Bumblebee is likely but I don't think anyone cares about her. Characters like Amanda Waller and Cheetah could be used but I don't see why mini doll versions would stop them for being made as minifigures in the future. Besides mini doll distribution is far worse than minifigure distribution (2 existing characters with no new prints in an unlicensed $80 set... :/) so even then we'll be lucky to get the main girls, whatever teacher they chose and the boy of choice. Star Sapphire is a really small character in the brand and Red Tornado has had like three lines so far so they're definitely not going to be made at least in the first wave. Quote
Robianco Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 If they're going to give us Waller then it'll be in the High School set. I've got no problem with some figures being minidolls first as long as we get minifigures of them at some point further down the line. There's a very good chance, even with fig duplication, that at least one of Waller, Bumblebee, Cheetah, Oracle or Red Tornado will make an appearance in these before minifig form. Quote
CDFCustoms Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Just like I thought, there was no way Lego would have 2 DC lines competing with each other at the same time. But I'm certain that we'll get at least some Justice League members in Batman Movie sets, I mean they were in a trailer. I belive there will be at least one wonder woman movie set, have any of those been confirmed Quote
Bricky Dee Williams Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Well, there's always the new hair pieces which will inevitably result from this! Very true, the LBM wave and potentially this wave could bring about some very good hairpieces. Do you just mean, like, High School in general? Because I'm with you there, man. Been there done that. The Whisperer Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 we are getting Krypto with Lashina Harley Quinn is in a set saving a boy with blonde hair Quote
