Numbuh1Nerd Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 Some foreign (French?) magazine did a piece on the new Wonder Woman movie, and confirmed that Ares will be the big bad, so if anybody was doubting that earlier set info, doubt no more! Quote

I really don't like the Mighty Micros. Mainly because of their stupid tiny legs and the cartoony faces. But I can't really pass up a Doomsday or Bizarro. I'll display them with different, less terrible legs. Probably the first time I'll display figures that are "edited" but I can't stand those tiny legs. I hope to do so with Bizarro (since I can't get the SDCC version!) but will wait until that set goes on clearance since its the only part of the set I want. The Doomsday is actually pretty cool, but I can't get over the fact that he should be a bigfig. I may pass entirely. Quote

I have discovered that I like both bigfigs and minifigures since I own the Hulk in the two forms. I'm going to assume we're not getting a proper Doomsday Bigfig. It would require new molds for the body, arms and legs assuming it's the comic version. That might be too much. I'm happy with a normal minifigure of him then. Also bigfigs are harder to display. I don't like how they have less articulation and always face downwards. I really wish you could move their legs at least. Maybe turn their heads. You know, just minifigure levels of articulation. It's the main reason I don't like the tiny legs! No articulation = no personality or neat poses. Quote
Robianco Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 I see us DC fans are being treated to a new book with another exclusive minifigure: Quote
Duncan Young Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 @Robianco Cool find! Intriguing, I wonder who the exclusive fig is. Hope it's not a Batman variant. We have TLBM for that Quote

Hoth Bricks have got the full story on it. Available for pre-order from Amazon for a release in May... slightly later for France. I'm kind of hoping for a Saturn Girl release... seeing as there was no cube last year something new would be a nice alternative to the whole Bat theme this year. Captain Britain Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Nice find Rob! I always forget about all these books etc when I'm trying to work out who I need etc. Quote
DarrellBricker Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 I will have to keep an eye out for it ... and I, too, hope it's not another Bat variant. But I can't help but be a little pessimistic about our chances for someone unique. After all, Batman is inarguably a big draw among the kiddie set. But, hope springs eternal ... :D Quote

Yeah, I mean I'd be fine if it was a well known Batman costumes (TDKR, Flashpoint, Beyond) but if it's just a throwaway one (like thepirate, caveman, fairy, Glam) I'd probably skip it. Hopefully the figure will be someone worthwhile Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 The book itself actually looks pretty dope, too! Quote
BaneShake Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 I'm gonna guess Firestorm. Why? I dunno. Whoever it is, I'd suspect somewhere in his tier of unreleased heroes. Could be the likes of Guy Gardner, Ted Kord, the Atom, or Vixen as well. Quote

No articulation = no personality or neat poses. I definitely get where you're coming from there. I think we're gonna see a Doomsday bigfig down the road, but probably not very soon. I, too, really wish they would they would at least change up the poses of bigfigs. Guys like Darkseid and Thanos probably shouldn't have the posture of the Hulk. Some articulation would be nice, but I'm gonna set the bar at "not all of them are hunched over" and see where we go from there. I find it really interesting that Marvel hasn't had any books or animated features. The thing about villains is that I feel like they're easier to put in sets than heroes are. If they do a Flash rogue, it would make much more sense to put them in a Flash set, because you can put the same Flash figure in a dozen sets that cost a lot more than a book and only ever change up the villain. The heroes are what tend to sell the sets, and Flash is, if not just about, popular enough to carry a set on his own. Making an iconic Flash villain into an exclusive is basically robbing Lego of a set opportunity. It can be a lot harder to get a hero into a set, though, since most sets have 1-4 minifigures and Lego seems to prefer repeatable characters like policemen, goons, or sidekicks to entirely unique, marginally-related heroes that require all new prints or molds for a one-time appearance. I don't know if I'm making any sense here to be honest Quote
BrickRapper Posted January 15, 2017 Posted January 15, 2017 I really hope it's Saturn girl. Or maybe a minifigures we want like reverse flash, vandal savage or mad hatter Quote
linnormlord Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 From previous experience with wave releases and early images for sets appearing online - Given the summer release dates of the second wave of DC Super Hero Girls sets, when can we expect to find images of those sets? I want to get one Batgirl set - so I want to figure out which one I like better. And I want to do so before Feb. 15th so I can pick up the Krypto polybag at the Lego Store with a set, but will it be Batgirl or something else? Quote
BrickRapper Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 If brickheadz get released in March, when will the images come out? Early February? Quote
linnormlord Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 How do people get the krypto polybag. I am using this tgread because the other one is dead The Krypto polybag is an in-store (and online?) promotion at the Lego Store from February 1 to February 15 with the purchase of any DC Super Hero Girls set. The store calendar for Feb is here: https://mi-od-live-s.legocdn.com/r/www/r/stores/-/media/brand retail/stores/calendar/january/feb17-l.jpg?l.r2=-1726013088 Quote
retrotaco Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 I know there's been a lot of new minifigs released recently across all lines - any dual-molded legs out there with red on top and yellow on the bottom that I may have missed? Cause poor Flash looks so, sooo plain compared to some of the newer minifigs lol Quote
