BrickCurve Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 (edited) As the Kaliphlin civil war came to a close, shortage of food, and resistance to the new leader of the guild, causing unrest among the populace. Now, after the mock glamour of the civil war attracting so much attention from the wider diplomatic scene, let us return to the desert lands to find what goes on there... After the civil war in Kaliphlin ended in stalemate, the main concerns of it's leaders turned to how to rebuild their shattered economy. Marauding armies had raided and decimated farms throughout the land, leading to wide spread hunger and deprivation. Peregrinus had fared somewhat better than it's neighbouring provinces, as most of it's battles had been fought against Ulandus on the sea. Although not blessed with much arable land, the locals have made do by cutting into the hillsides, creating terraces where produce can be grown. Soldiers from both sides of the conflict have found ready work on the land, finding a new common purpose after the exhaustion of war. Much to the dismay of the wealthy villa owners, many of their villas are being converted into terraces to supply a bit of extra food to the surrounding towns and villages.[/font] Terraced Villa in Peregrinus - 1 by Gabriel Thomson, on Flickr In an attempt to maintain security and control, ostrich riders are on patrol all around the guild. OstrichKnights by Kayne _, on Flickr However, they cannot be everywhere at once, and cannot stop the meetings between those who disapprove and rebel against the Desert king, at locations such as the Maritime Inn on the Southern Coast of Kaliphlin. Chapter2a by Kayne _, on Flickr And the minions of the desert king have, so far failed to find the location of one of the main supporters of the High Council, buried in the almost forgotten, cavernous cellars beneath Castle Anrarr on the inland sea. Beneath Anrarr by Henry Alekna, on Flickr End note: SkaForHire was originally going to contribute a model in the place of Kayne's ostrich knights, due to unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances, (a careless air conditioner repairman), his build was too far damaged to complete in time. Thanks to Kayne for filling the gap. Thanks are also due to Gabe for replacing Si-MOCs when he ran out of time due to BrickWorld with only ten days to go. Thanks also to Mark of MMCB Capes for printing the custom flags. Unfortunately they didn't arrive in time to be used by Kayne in his builds. We will also be posting our MOCs separately to make it easier for them to be registered as free builds. Edited July 14, 2016 by BrickCurve Quote

Kai NRG Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 Great job here! Not having managed to build with the team I was planning, I kind of regret I didn't take you up on your offer before! The ostrich riders are really great and of course Gabe's MOC is fantastic! Quote
Littleworlds Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Very nice to see some variety from the usual European-style castles. Even better since it is also very well built (amazing wall-textures!) and photographed Quote

Thanks, I was wondering if we were going to see an entry from the team you mentioned. Well, a Kaliphlin team is planned for next years summer joust, no idea who will be in it yet though, maybe there could almost be two Kaliphlin teams- if it was organised enough in advance...
