The Arrow Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 These sets look great, cant wait to see some better quality images of the mini figs, especially baby groot and yondu. Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 (edited) Yes! Love them, this is a nice wave. I like the milano set, definitely getting it because I didn't get the past one. Mantis and rocket in a cheap set! Yondu and baby groot together! I'm happy with the outcome. Edited January 12, 2017 by Amazing Bricks Quote
Legoman123 Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 The two smaller sets look fantastic and I can't wait to pick them up! I am however disappointed in the Milano as it looks smaller than the previous version. Quote
namioik Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 I....errrr.....told you so for those who didn't expect a tiny Milano Quote
1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Called it! There was no way they weren't doing another Milano. Quote

So our friends MOCers can certainly create a better MILANO. Baby groot appears in two sets, you have the choice! :) Quote
Undi3sss Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 I missed out on the older MIlano, so I'll get the new one for sure.... Hopefully the Thor/Spidey sets leak soon haha! Quote
wesker Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 The new Milano will be an easy pass but I'm looking forward to picking up the two cheaper sets. Quote
Ultron Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 This is honestly a really good wave for those of us who bought the first wave and those of us who didn't. If you have the old Milano and don't care about new variants, the Milano is an easy pass. While if you don't have the old one, you automatically get 4/5 original guardians and only need the smallest set to get Rocket. Great wave, although, having bought the original Milano, I wish the biggest set was something else. The smaller model really isn't all that bad though. Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 (edited) The nice thing about the milano is that there are no exclusive new characters. They're just repeated minifigures, so that's not bad at all. Nebula and the rest might have a new variation, but they're not new minifigures. It all works out for those who bought the last milano. Dharkan Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 I'm glad I bought old Milano. I'll just get other two sets and keep the money in my pocket :P I was expecting Yondu in some set %100 chance. After having Mr. T with mohawk in Dimensions, there's no way they pass releasing a Yondu minifig. Quote

Ashnflash Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Well the sets and figures look really amazing. Especially for those prices! I'm either going to recolour this Milano or just sell the ship separately. I can't wait to see better pics! Quote

This happens more often than you might imagine. Release dates vary between regions. Sometimes we get stuff first, sometimes they do. For the U.S., the new Marvel and Star Wars (and probably other) sets are scheduled to be released in March. Edited January 13, 2017 by rob-ot5000 Edited for clarity Quote
RetroInferno Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 I don't own the old Milano ship, I keep looking at both of them and I'm really not sure which looks best? The previous version has the wing and size advantage, the new one seems to have a more accurate cockpit section and a different color scheme... That's a weird situation. Quote
Legocity2713 Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Honestly, I'm content having my "Baby Groot" from the 2014 Rocket Raccoon polybag where he was just a Lego carrot topper piece in brown I'm one of the people who never got the first Milano and because of the size and most likely a cheaper price around $50 I like this set more. That said, I'm probably just going to get the polybag version and modify or MOC it up to fit a minifigure like a Microfighter or Mighty Micro. Quote

Someone correct me, but this new "Smaller Milano" looks to be almost the perfect size for Rocket's Ravager Warbird from the first movie. I can see that being an easy conversion. Also add Mantis to the list of "Characters I never ever expected to ever see in any form let alone a minifigure". I am overjoyed, I've always been fond of the character. The original Celestial Madonna Avengers storyline was the first full complete comic story I ever managed to collect from start to finish. 41 minutes ago, RetroInferno said: I don't own the old Milano ship, I keep looking at both of them and I'm really not sure which looks best? Without having the new one in hand yet, I am leaning towards the original. Simple reason, it has an amazingly decent amount of interior room and detail. You can fit and secure all of the team in it at once except for Groot. The new one looks like it might really just be a one or two fig cockpit. Quote
Falconfan1414 Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 I hope baby groot comes with different facial printings in the two different sets. One of them being smiling baby groot. The other being a angry face like from the trailer. I am a little disappointed we are getting two rockets in the two smallest sets. I would rather have them realease a different character in place Quote
benderisgreat Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 These sets look really nice! Rocket in smallest set, Star Lord and Baby Groot in medium set and Drax and Gamora in biggest set. Unfortunately the biggest set looks like complete rehash of 2014 Milano! But since I don't have Drax I will probably get Milano as well. So I'm getting all the sets. Quote
RetroInferno Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Yeah I just watched Jang's review of the original one and I really did not expect that much interior space, it's damn impressive. Quote
J.V.D. Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 (edited) Pity the picture of the GotG2 sets is still small, or blurry when zoomed in, but looks interesting nevertheless. I thought however to have read , on Brickset I think, that 76079 would be Ayesha's Revenge, and 76080 Ravager Attack. Based on the minifigures included in the sets, I guess it is the other way around then. Only one , minor, let down : because of the supposed set name "Ravager Attack", I had hoped to see more, at least 2, different Ravagers in that set. (excluding the main team in case they come in Ravager gear). Definitely going to pick up the 2 smaller sets, but since I am happy with my 76021 I am not sure yet about the Milano. Will depend on the price I can get it, the build itself and of course the figs.. hoping for a Gamora with a darker outfit then the previous version. Edited January 13, 2017 by J.V.D. some spelling corrections.. sorry, no native speaker of english :-) Quote
Ceroknight Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Hmm the new Milano looks a lot cleaner than the one released in 2014 Quote

I can see that being an easy conversion. Now that is an interesting idea / argument to buy this new Milano too.. But I am not sure though this new version is really a lot smaller. Based on a quick count of the studs, as far I can distinguish them, the wingspan of both versions seems to be more or less the same, the new one being about 2 studs shorter. The new one also seems to have a more accurate cockpit dome, and while the way the color scheme / striping was done on the first 76021 was more accurate than this one ( unless this has changed for GotG2), I seem to prefer the blue / orange combination of the new one over the blue / yellow from the previous version Quote
