Pulp Detective Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 We're getting She-Hulk but not Daredevil or any other more recognisable character?Since when She-Hulk has become such a big character?I mean it's not like she has her own Netflix show that's praised by many people like Daredevil. And I know it's an adult oriented show but still kids know who he is. LegoCityNut Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 She's in Agents of S.M.A.S.H. That, and it's possibly linked to her being a big player in Civil War 2, and Marvel wanting more female characters as toys. Quote

Pulp Detective Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 She-hulk is a fan favorite for ages as well. Well I always knew that she was recognisable among the comic book community but not outside it,apperantly she gained more acknowledgement recently with her appearing in Agents of S.M.A.S.H. Quote

I'd like to think they'll give us daredevil with a spidey set anyway. Just like they did with ghostrider. Quote
kevkipo Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 The Original Avengers roster is growing, Classic Iron Man, Cap, Hulk, Thor, She-Hulk, soon you'll be able to make your own Classic Avengers roster. But seriously, i hope we get such an epic Thor set next year! Quote
Anonknee Muss Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 Awesome set! Has any other set ever had 2 bigfigs? I'd love to get this but might have to wait for a sale or BrickLink prices to drop. $60 is reasonable, I think, but I'm still not overly thrilled about getting it for full price. Nope! We've never had two big figures in one set. Quote
Sir Gareth Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 The Classic Avengers roster is growing: ...Captain America... Captain America is actually the Ultimates version from 2002 Quote
NXS7 Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 Captain America is actually the Ultimates version from 2002 With some alterations added the torso for Mighty Micros Cap America works for a classic design. All you need is the 2014 head, legs and maybe arms Quote

That, and it's possibly linked to her being a big player in Civil War 2, and Marvel wanting more female characters as toys. Agents of smash is terrible! Civil War 2 is ok but also about Marvel wanting more female characters as toys?! i haven't seen any Black Widow or Captain Marvel or even Gamora in the toys for Marvel. Black Widow was only in one toy that i saw. but yes i would like to see more female characters in the toys but i can see why we don't get a lot of female action figures and minifigures in toys is because usually on the boys isle they don't really sell well compare to their male counterparts. Do they? Because I don't know many parents who let their kids watch the show. In fact Marvel has gone to great steps to make sure they don't lead kids into watching the show, which is why they didn't put the TV versions of Daredevil and Jessica Jones in Disney Infinity or the the Lego Avengers video game (Notice that Agents of SHIELD and Agent Carter got levels or DLC sets devoted to them, but not the Netflix heroes). As for why She-Hulk specifically, aside from her being in a cartoon aimed at little kids, I'm not sure why her inclusion in a Hulk-themed set is surprising. It'd be like being surprised they put Falcon or Bucky in a Captain America set. Edited July 9, 2016 by Battlinpanther Quote

Battlinpanther Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 It like Lego, they won't be putting deadpool in any lego sets anymore because of the deadpool movie Pretty much. The only real thing putting Daredevil ahead of other characters is his TV show, and that's not likely something Lego is itching to cash in on. It'd be like making Lego sets for The Walking Dead or Orange Is the New Black. Quote

The Netflix show probably hurts Daredevil's chances then helps them, honestly. Also, why single out She-Hulk? She's a hugely popular character--she's been on pretty much all the teams, has had several well regarded runs, is a main player in the big Marvel crossover going on right now... just seems weird to call out the second best known and fan-loved Hulk when she's in a set with Red Hulk and Red She-Hulk, two characters who are way down on the D-list. I just used She-Hulk as an example,I could have easily mentioned Red Hulk or Red She-Hulk or even Ghost Rider for the matter. For what I know he isn't very well know character among children but still Lego made him overall. Why not Daredevil then?If they do make a set with him included I'm sure it'll draw the attention of many adults. NXS7 Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 That's why they should give us the classic costume. There's no link to the gruesome Netflix series, and like Joker, Deadpool and Ghost Rider, a classic Daredevil is child friendly Quote
HawkLord Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 What's funny is there was a time not too long ago where Daredevil was a bad word. Right after the Affleck movie no one wanted to touch him. Now that there's a new Daredevil television show, he's back in the limelight, but only for adults. At the same time, She-Hulk has been a fan favorite for years and a member of multiple teams. I consider her a solid B-list character. Lego venturing out of just the main MCU roster is really great for collectors, as it gives the impression they may yet take on nearly every A through C list superhero. It's a smart move adding that level of collectibility. Quote
