Pretty much. The only real thing putting Daredevil ahead of other characters is his TV show, and that's not likely something Lego is itching to cash in on. It'd be like making Lego sets for The Walking Dead or Orange Is the New Black.

Yeah, shame. But it would just be bad publicity and would ruin lego's brand values

That's why they should give us the classic costume. There's no link to the gruesome Netflix series, and like Joker, Deadpool and Ghost Rider, a classic Daredevil is child friendly

True that

What's funny is there was a time not too long ago where Daredevil was a bad word. Right after the Affleck movie no one wanted to touch him. Now that there's a new Daredevil television show, he's back in the limelight, but only for adults.

At the same time, She-Hulk has been a fan favorite for years and a member of multiple teams. I consider her a solid B-list character.

Lego venturing out of just the main MCU roster is really great for collectors, as it gives the impression they may yet take on nearly every A through C list superhero. It's a smart move adding that level of collectibility.

It's very good for collectors, I like lego venturing out of the rosters, it's really intriguing!

I think the figures are really great but I'll reserve judgement on the vehicles until we get more pics. It looks like the Hulk vehicle has a big gap in the middle and they both seem to have the bigfig spots hanging off the back when I feel like they could've integrated them into the builds better. It seems like anytime we get a bigfig vehicle they just kinda hang off the back rather than get a spot that's well-integrated into the build so it actually looks like they are in the vehicles rather than standing on the back of them awkwardly.

Also, personally my top most wanted figure for 2017 would be Daredevil.

I agree and it is really quite annoying, darkseid and killer croc are the major ones in this issue, when lego learns this, the sets will be astounding

I actually really like the hulk set. It looks just like a good, old, cheesy seventies toy. And the figures are to die for too :sub:

I'd love an official Daredevil figure, but with the mature content he's currently associated with I'm not sure how likely it is. Though we did get a Deadpool figure, so who knows.

Just remember that was 2012; before the movie came out. Ghost Rider however... He's always been a darker character (aside from the bright fire). His movie(s) are like rated PG 13, and really aren't suited as a family superhero film.

The way I see it though; if LEGO give us the classic red suit Daredevil, it's not like kids are going to take one look at the set and be instantly inspired to find out whether there are any gruesome Netflix exclusive shows based around him. As long as it's a Spider Man set, the Netflix series isn't being promoted, which means the kids get a lovely Daredevil minifigure, we get a lovely Daredevil minifigure, and everyone wins

Oh I agree. I was just saying that once you take the TV show out of the equation, there wasn't much putting Daredevil drastically ahead of She-Hulk if we're talking notoriety among non-comic fans. Like someone else said I would imagine her TV appearances factored into her getting a figure to some degree.

In my opinion Ghost Rider was really the only oddball if we're talking characters getting minfits.

Yes, but the subject material for Deadpool has always been pretty gruesome. They acclimated him pretty well to the Lego game and Ultimate Spider Man show, but he's been a very mature character in the majority of his appearances. After the movie they'd definitely never make a figure of him

I think it's worth remembering that Lego uses the movies and cartoons as guides as to what kids might be familiar with. My kids' eyes light up when I show them new Lego images with characters they know. So She-Hulk and Red Hulk really excited them, but Red She Hulk was kind of meh (to them).

Ghost Rider HAS appeared on the cartoons. My son shouted out "From Agents of SMASH!" when he saw the first photos. Daredevil sadly has not appeared in anything lately besides the Netflix series.

We've heard that the 2014 X-Men set sold poorly (I haven't seen that corroborated with sources) but the fact that there hasn't been an X-Men cartoon in many years probably hurts it.

Scarlet Spider and Spider-Woman have both appeared on the Spider-Man cartoon, as has Vulture, and we are getting all of them in sets this year. Mind you the minifigs look NOTHING like the depictions in the cartoon for any of them (Spider Woman maybe) but it's still enough that kids will recognize the characters, and at least know if they are good guys or bad guys.

Squirrel Girl HAS featured quite prominently on the Spider-Man cartoon. Good hope there! So has Agent Venom.

So I put forth an obvious thought: Characters from the movies are very likely, and characters that have appeared on the TV shows are much more likely than those that have not.

Let's keep our fingers crossed for more characters! This Hulk-centric set is really encouraging that Lego is branching out and giving us sets where the majority of the characters have never appeared as figures before, and two of those we have been hoping for for a long time (resorting to bootlegs and MOCs all the while).

For people who say that Daredevil would be unlikely due to the mature content of his Netflix series, I point to exhibit A: this year's DC sets that featured the full line up of the Suicide Squad featuring looks that are actually pretty similar to their appearances in the upcoming movie. We also just got Ghost Rider, though the movies were pg-13, the comics historically have a significant amount of mature content. We've also gotten Carnage, who was a serial killer before getting powers-- and then proceeded to become a serial killer of people with powers. We also got Deadpool, though he tends to be more crude than gritty, I don't know if that matters to TLG. Honestly, the only thing that's hindering the existence of a Daredevil minifig is the fact that he's only appeared on Netflix lately. If he shows up in the cartoons, he'll have a better shot. Heck, Ghost Rider appeared on Agents of S.M.A.S.H. before it was canceled on, I dare say, it's best episode. Man, did they portray a perfectly B@d@$$ Ghost Rider and I loved it. The LEGO model of his bike even somewhat resembles the one from that episode, certainly more so than any other version of his bike to date. I also get the feeling he will appear again in this form in an episode of Ultimate Spider-Man or Avenger's Assemble, given they tend to share character appearances including those from Agents of S.M.A.S.H. as a shared MC(artoon)U.

Also here are the LEGO bike and the bike from Agents of S.M.A.S.H. as I don't think anyone has mad a side-by-side comparison yet.

I'm not sure if you read my post before writing yours but we are saying pretty much the same thing.

I think this is just another way by separating them, same mold in just a different colour would be too easy and even kids might notice that it would be a little sloppy to do so.

I like that they used 2 different molds, gets a little variety in the design wise pretty meh set.

You can't tell me we won't get at least one Asgard set!

Unfortunately the amount of physical sets they build for the Thor movies have yet to have any correlation to the amount of Lego sets we've gotten (None).

I wouldn't hold my breath. With Spider-man and Guardians coming out there might not be that much space left for Thor. Though I do think seeing a Dr. Strange set this year at least makes the odds better.

I still think we are, Lego won't pass a chance for Hulk, besides, 1 set would do, Thor, Hulk, Villain, other Villain, Valkyrie.

Lego hasn't done an Xmen set for quite a while

They normally do one every 2 years. Last one was in 2014 (sentinal), next one is in January (mighty micros).

Here's a close up of the bigfigs and minifigures which I don't think has been posted in this thread yet: Lego-Marvel-Hulk-and-She-Hulk-vs-Red-Hulk-and-Red-She-Hulk-Copy.jpg

As many others have said, the figs are great (though the toe-less Red Hulk is a bit odd), the vehicles rather unprepossessing and the price point painful.
