I assume you mean the ATM Heist Battle? If you look at the actual finished build it is RIDICULOUSLY small and so, so far away from being worth the price. The minifigs also aren't desirable enough to warrant a purchase. Quote

Regardless, those prices are too high for the other sets for me even to consider getting them at that cost. Will definitely be waiting for a sale as the three larger sets should each be about £5 cheaper. I think the prices are mostly reasonable. 500 pieces for a $60 set with new bigfig molds is fine. The Asgard set is definitely overpriced, it would be much better at $40. The Vulture set is reasonable for the piece count, and so is the ATM Heist Battle. Quote

Given the fact that beware the Vulture has 4 minifigs I think that price is fine. Also for the ATM battle heist, 2 new figs (face prints) not bad. Absolutely, Asgard battle is OP even tho the Hela minifig is beautiful it doesn't suffice specially with the builds. Quote

I hate this time of the year when the US and some European countries are A. lucky enough to be getting sets early and B. getting them for so much cheaper. So any chance I have to get a set early it makes me feel like I'm actually getting it the same time as the rest of the world[...] I know it sounds really childish and first world problems but I already wasted 1 hour today going there and back and now if I want to get the sets I'm going to have to go back AGAIN for another 1 hour. I also live half an hour away from most of the stores that get Lego sets early/on time, and I've been in your situation in the past. Whether a customer can persuade an employee to let them buy an unusual product feels random, but the stores are too far away and it represents too much time and effort for me to just hope that it'll work. Trial and error has resulted in a method of calling ahead that (for me, at least) either works or saves me the trip. Call ahead, and be certain you speak to a manager. Ask them if they've got the product(s), and if you can buy it. Let them know that you live far away, and you're only going to make the trip to their store if they can guarantee that you'll be able to buy it. If they say no, thank them; you've saved a trip to that store! If they say yes, get explicit permission that you can buy the product(s), and write down that manager's name. Ask them to put the set(s) on hold at the Customer Service counter. Then go to the store and pick up the product(s). If the purchase doesn't ring up properly, tell the employee that you received permission from the manager you spoke to earlier. The employee may call over a manager, but there's always someone in the store who can make the purchase go through. Because the person you speak to has decision making power, because they have full knowledge of the situation, because they promise to do something simple for you, because the retail environment is devoted to making customers happy, and because people don't enjoy breaking promises, this method hasn't let me down yet. Quote
Ashnflash Posted May 30, 2017 Posted May 30, 2017 @N_Cat Ya but let's imagine if I had called. First off when you call a store asking them if they have a product and they do they won't think to scan it to see if it can actually be purchased. So they would've put it on hold for me anyways. Also I work in retail in the stock room and I know that a manager typically wouldn't be the one to answer an inquirer like that unless they were the one to pick up the phone. Retail employees are pretty lazy for the most if you ask them if it went through and scanned I very much doubt that they actually would scan it, they'd just say 'yes.' Also its not like it was my first time there this week and I was hoping to get new sets. I knew they were coming today and I had already purchased them. The fact that out of the 50 sets I can't buy the 2 that I want is ridiculous. I can't remember if I mentioned this before but customer service couldn't even find the product on their end. This whole thing doesn't make sense... Quote
GoldenNinja3000 Posted May 30, 2017 Posted May 30, 2017 Jang has uploaded his review of Beware the Vulture! The more I see Vulture's wings, the more I love them. I'm extremely excited for the villain in the movie and the technology that he uses just seems amazing. I really like how many poses the Lego wings can get into, and the feathering on the ends is very well done. The helmet doesn't look as bad when the figure is attached to the wings. It's also really nice that he can stand up with the wings attached. I think the only thing I'll modify is adding fans (the printed 2x2 round tiles with a hole in the middle) to the big engines. Quote

Jang's review actually convinced me that the Wings size are actually good. But still don't get why did they use the Nexo Shields, it looks so bland and boring. I have created my own version of wings, just waiting for the set for the pieces I need, also for Vulture fig. I am going to use the same exact fans circular tile with hole. looks pretty accurate. Yeah I've convinced myself they're decently sized too, especially since the people making the movie have set their interpretation of the wings are more of a vehicle than a jetpack setup to make it more unique and less like a Falcon rip-off. I love the use of the tessellated Nexo shields. While it may not be the most accurate thing, it looks superb and is an excellent source of unprinted Nexo shields for mocing. The helmet has grown on me too. It looks good and I do think it was a wise choice for LEGO to make a helmet mold as universal as that one, we just tend to expect more from movie based sets it seems. When you think about it, over-use of ultra-specific molds isn't very LEGO-like at all, we've just gotten used to it. I'm still disappointed by the complete lack of leg printing and claw feet on him though and the lack of a mask for Shocker is also very frustrating. It's still a very good set and I look forward to getting it tomorrow along with the Republic Fighter Tank. Quote

Same thing that I was thinking, probably we're just expecting too much. BUT STILL I cannot forgive them in what they did with the mask, I would rather have the krytopnian mask with different coloring rather than this new Ironman helmet mold. But yea, this mask is now good for me comparing with the first time I saw the fig. Quote

Ultron Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 So if we get a set for the Black Panther movie, would it release in January? Or December? They like to do the 2-months-before-the-movie-release with merchandise. Quote

Well, I'll be dissapointed if we aren't getting atleast one set for Black Panther. Quote

There's only one reason why nothing is known about 2018 Marvel sets - they are all movie based! So spoilers? I think we'll get some leaked sets after we get trailers for BP and IW. Quote

Lol. Agreed. BP is movie based so I think it make sense that while DC is getting leaks and leaks Marvel stuff keeping it secret until the very end of the release. Well that also means a lil chance of comic based 2018 sets, still a sad news for us. Personally looking forward for another ironman variant Quote
Borex Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 The problem with movie based designs is that i almost never like them. I want my superheroes to be iconic. I stopped reading comics in the 90ies when there were just too much crossovers and spidey became a blonde dude. So a winter wave without comic based sets is sad news if true. Quote

benderisgreat Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Just bought Battle for Asgard set, and a like the set a lot more than I expected! Ship is small, but looks really cool and even has some cargo space! Fenris wolf is meh to me, nothing special. Minifigures wise set is a mixed bag. Great version of Thor with cool helmet and prints, but the rest of minifigures not so much. Valkyrie could have used Rey's hair from TFA in black as it looks more accurate, and some leg print wouldn't hurt! Bruce Banner doesn't even look like Mark Ruffalo, even though Lego Marvel Avengers had great face for the character. Torso looks good and can be reused for a lot of other characters. Berserkers look nice, but again no leg print! And the biggest disappointment is Hella! Great face, torso and helmet, but no leg print makes minifigure look very inconsistent! If Lego just printed Hellas legs the set would be way better for me. Overall, this set is better than I expected, but lack of leg print on minifigures makes this set a lot worse. Quote

Yeah like I said, it is early, I kind of expected we would hear about all MMs at once rather than one each, but judging by how Monday we got LEGO Batman movie details, yesterday was DC comic/JLA details, and today is Mighty Micros, I'm certain that we won't be disappointed by the end of this week. We're slowly being spoon fed more information every day Quote
Hoth Rebel Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 (edited) Didn't we got the Thanos and Wonder Woman MM sets early last year and got the others a few months later? Information/pictures that is. Edited May 31, 2017 by Kevii23 Quote
