Kman860 Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 Here's some breaking new, lego sets are actually designed for children  Seriously though, I think I might actually buy that one (that would be my first Mighty Micro set). Quote

Yeah, something I've noticed on here is that a lot of people complain about or don't like the fact that there are play features in sets. For example, I saw posts complaining about the explosion function in the Tanker Truck Takedown set. But Lego sets are designed for kids and kids like exploding their toys and playing with them, so I think it's a bit unfair for everyone to bash the Lego set for having play value. Quote

I agree, that's just silly. Now whether or not said play features are integrated well or function as intended are certainly acceptable topics for criticism. That said, I think(obviously without having it in hand) the exploding feature is rather decent. Play features that are sturdy, work seamlessly and can reset themselves or be very simple to reset are great for play and sometimes display. If I have room to keep the tanker out, it'll be displayed exploding. Quote
Venkefedo Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 Better an exploding feature designed & built into a truck than a kid slamming a Lego truck into the ground or a wall to make it 'explode' a different way... a way that leads to a much bigger mess to clean up, and probably some painful encounters for anyone walking around without shoes on later that day (or the following week, perhaps!) Quote
CM4Sci Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 Play functions are always good to have - I always add them into the models I build, I aim for them to be like actual LEGO sets. I don't see why it's a problem - it's better than just building the model and having it sit there. Quote

When I was younger, the built in explosions weren't enough for me, so I just utterly destroyed everything I played with Quote

Suproc Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 We're getting 3 Marvel Studio films next year. GOTG is most likely getting a wave, anybody think or know if Spider-Man is going to get more than one set if at all? On one hand, the more the merrier, but on the other with all the awesome 2016 sets how can they top that? I envision 1-2 sets and then Thor might just get 1 if at all, but I'm not hopeful. I didn't think we'd get a Doctor Strange one and that one turned out amazing. Quote
CM4Sci Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 Is that a hint? A hint that the GotG sets will probably be really cool? Sure. Quote
legobagel Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 Are the two yellow parts on the back of Iron Man's mighty micro new? I don't own any, nor have I seen one. Quote
