As far as legs, I would say Darth Maul's in a dark green would work well. Quote

About the wings, just do something brick built. I think green legs with an attachment claw piece (kinda like the existing ice skate piece) could work well. I would prefer new molded wings, but I want something like the plastic Hawkman wings because they're better than the static wings, I think. Quote

Yes the plastic space batman/hawkman wings work also better for me. Quote

Rookie875 Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 I thought I heard somewhere that we were going to get a D2C/UCS set for Marvel next year, but since The LEGO Batman Movie is almost definitely going to get a D2C I wasn't sure if we were getting one for both next year or not. Quote

LEGO Movie had one so I think he's assuming TLBM will. I think a Wayne Manor or Batcave would be cool... 2 Batcaves in a row though would be kinda eh. Quote
rob-ot5000 Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 (edited) Haven't heard anything about a LBM D2C. Not that I know people or things. But there's already 13 sets dedicated to LBM, plus a CMF line, so I doubt there will be a D2C/UCS-style set. Completely OT, but all of those acronyms reminded of this: "Excuse me, sir. Seeing as how the V.P. is such a V.I.P., shouldn't we keep the P.C. on the Q.T.? 'Cause if it leaks to the V.C. he could end up M.I.A., and then we'd all be put out in K.P." Thanks, Robin Williams! That is all. Edited July 30, 2016 by rob-ot5000 Quote
Winter Soldier Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 Well, I doubt there will be any D2C/UCS sets for Spiderman: Homecoming. Most likely for GoTG 2, considering it's the biggest Marvel movie of 2017. Altough, an arena Hulk UCS/D2C set, would be very nice. Quote
PriorMarcus Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 Guardians isn't bigger than Spider-man. Spider-man is the single most popular and successful franchise Marvel now have. He's going to overtake Iron Man in importance going forward, especially with Robert Downey getting too old for the role. Quote

In terms of comic-based merchandise, yes; Spider-Man is bigger than everything (The Avengers, Superman, Batman....everything). In terms of the MCU, Spidey is still behind IM, Cap and the rest of The Avengers in terms of importance. Once the original guard steps back or aside, then Marvel will elevate properties and characters like Spider-Man, Black Panther and Captain Marvel. Until then, The Avengers as a whole are the most important movie property they have. Quote
Winter Soldier Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 What I mean is: the GoTG are more important for the MCU than Spiderman. Quote
Battlinpanther Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is also going to be more important to the upcoming Infinity War plot than Spider-Man, so I imagine Marvel will have a pretty huge push for it going forward. Quote

All signs point to GotG2 having NOTHING to do with the Infinity Stones, Infinity War, or anything else Infinity-related. Quote
ToaDraco Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 All signs point to GotG2 having NOTHING to do with the Infinity Stones, Infinity War, or anything else Infinity-related. Yup this was confirmed by Gunn himself, he was very clear that there is nothing in this movie having to do with any other tie in. I find it a bit odd and almost problematic given how intertwined everything else is and how cosmic the threat is. Aside from Thor, the Guardians are our best window into that world until Thanos actually arrives. I suppose we're kind of veering off topic but there isn't much else to discuss in this thread until we get more information about merchandising for next year's movies. I do hope we get a Thor set that includes an armored Hulk with a hammer and axe, a new version of Thor with the short hair and war paint, the Grandmaster, Hela, and Scurge with maybe a weapon rack and part of an arena wall or something. For Guardians, we don't know a whole lot yet but I would expect Yondu with a propper fin mohawk, likely just using a dark red version of the mohawk piece that already exists as well as Mantis and probably a nanofigure Groot, oh of course and a humanoid form of Ego. His planet form is probably too much to hope for sadly. Maybe if we're lucky we'll also get Stalone's character in minifig form too. I can't imagine Spider-Man will be too different from the one we have now but the Vulture will be very interesting. I get the feeling we'll be getting Falcon's wings with a new print, along with a new helmet mold. Quote
Legoman123 Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 The D2C doesn't have to directly tie in with a movie though does it. I'm personally hoping for an X-Mansion or Baxter Building. Quote
Captain Nemo Posted August 2, 2016 Author Posted August 2, 2016 Guys, please focus on the sets we do know about, not ones we hope to get. There is no indication--at all--that we are getting any Marvel D2C set anytime soon. So let's not run off tying to guess what the non-existent set will be. And as always...keep the movie talk in the MCU discussion thread. Thanks! Quote
Khscarymovie4 Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 So what if I told you guys we'd be getting a Coulson minifig? With a Lola build too. Not sure if it's 2016 or 2017, but it's coming. Get hyped! Personally I have been waiting for a Coulson minifig ever since The Avengers came out. Even if it's not an MCU Coulson, which I don't think it is, I'll be happy. Yes, we're getting Coulson. Indeed, I just verified with my own sources. Actual set. So were getting a Coulson minifigures in a set, as Hope van Dyne once said "It's about damn time" . This was in the 2016 forum BTW. Quote
wesker Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Good for those who want him but personally I can't stand the character. Quote
Ultron Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Good for those who want him but personally I can't stand the character. What's not to like? He's just a Shield agent. Quote
YellowCorvette Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 What's not to like? He's just a Shield agent. i think that this has something to do with Coulson's revival from death (Kinda). It kinda reduce the impact of his death scene in The Avengers movie and let the scene itself can't be taken seriously anymore. Quote
HawkLord Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 A bit mixed. I like the character and think it's about time he got the Lego treatment (there's already a Hot Toys and Hasbro figure of him), but I've never watched AoS, as I prefer Coulson to be dead. Here's hoping the set he's in is not AoS based. Quote
TheAmazingDarkKnight Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 (edited) At this point I feel getting a Coulson figure was so long overdue to the point that I could really care less to get one. 2-4 years earlier and I would be on board, but now I would much rather have another Comic/TV themed character (DareDevil, Jessica Jones, Punisher, Zemo etc.).
