Ultron Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 The Avenjet and Iron Skull sub both came out in January... You're right, forgot about those. Quote
benderisgreat Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 If you say so, but this year alone has had five... 5 including summer wave. First wave had 2. Quote
HyperOnion Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Well the x men set was the worst selling marvel set of the year it came out so Lego might be trying to see if times have change and they can come out with more X men sets Hm. I was planning to just brick link the figs, but maybe I'll buy the XMen one, give a little more of a boost to more XMen sets... Quote
Krikkit Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 This is my major takeaway. Fingers crossed for more X-Men sets!! Yeah, but these are still two fogs that they already hold a license on. I wonder if another Deadpool will rear it's comicy head. Also, the magneto head will make Onslaught. Quote
brickmasterben11 Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Tony Stark's face is a epic bad poker face (look it up!). I can't wait for these sets. Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 So much happens when I'm gone for 4 days, it's crazy. First of all, love that classic iron man! We finally have him in Lego form and he looks amazing. Thanos look alright, but his vehicle is the best! That infinity gauntlet is perfect. The wolverine vs magneto set comes to a surprise, they still look ok. Getting tired of seeing both of them. We all know what this means for the x-men from now on... The scorpion looks great! It's nice to see that tail in such a cheap set. Spiderman again comes to no surprise, but at least we have a new face. All of these look great and look forward to seeing the rest of 2017 has in store for us. Quote
ToaDraco Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 (edited) 10 points awarded! For some reason, Tony's face reminds me of (Super) Mario. Go figure! In real news, these new waves look great! I'm especially thrilled with that Thanos figure! I'm not a big fan of bigfigs, so it's nice to see some parts to make an minifig version of him. As for his gauntlet, I think, for my purposes, I would have preferred a golden boxing glove, or even just one golden hand, instead of the piece chosen, but it does fit with the heavily stylized aesthetic they've developed, so no real complaints. The Gauntletmobile, obviously, is above reproach. No interest in the others this time (until I see better pictures of Mag's head without the helmet), but it's encouraging to see the X-Men show up again. Play nice, corporations. Then you can have ALL the money. Iron Man's helmet printing scares me. Way down. In my soul. Go figure. If you're truly bummed about missing the Blackbird set, I have good news! You can still get in from Toys'R'Us.com, and they're currently running 20% of all Marvel LEGO sets. Go! Go now! Personally, I liked that set a lot. The jet looked great (IMO), plus you get Cyclops and Storm, and the version of Wolvie that I prefer (i.e. masked). The Sentinel, though....well, maybe it's best if we don't talk about that... Seriously!? You're the man! Thanks for the info. About the Sentinel, I actually don't think it's that bad. Not perfect but passable.edit: You also get a free $14.99 sized Bionicle set with purchases of $40 or more? As a lifelong Bionicle fan that's hard to beat! I already have them all but spare parts are always welcome. Edited July 3, 2016 by ToaDraco Quote
mediumsnowman Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Well the x men set was the worst selling marvel set of the year it came out Source? Quote
Sir Gareth Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 (edited) Source? That would be me: ...and the fact that X-Men vs. the Sentinel was the worst selling Super Heroes set of 2014... Edited July 3, 2016 by Sir Gareth Quote
Ultron Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Probably would've sold better if they had designed the Sentinel like they did Giant Man Quote
wesker Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Its not surprising it was the worst selling Superheroes set that year when it wasn't even released in every country. Quote
Rayduh562 Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 IMO iron man's helmet is the same its always been, just painted red and yellow. Notice it has a bulge at the top, which to me looks like the hinge for the mask to open and shut. Quote
agoodfella77 Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Nice!! Love wolverine Yup probably my favorite of the bunch along with Iron Man. They finally got Logan at his proper height, lol! Quote
Krikkit Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Yup probably my favorite of the bunch along with Iron Man. They finally got Logan at his proper height, lol! Ahahaha I was thinking the same thing! Quote
Marvelous Spidey Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 IMO iron man's helmet is the same its always been, just painted red and yellow. Notice it has a bulge at the top, which to me looks like the hinge for the mask to open and shut. It's still mostly the same shape, especially up top, but it definitely looks like it's one piece not two. Also the bottom curves out in the front, which the current one does not do. Quote
Im_the_Juggernaut_Bricks Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 I would trade my Crimson Gem of Cyttorak for new X-Men sets. Quote
LegoRomania Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Next year will have Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 sets. Is possible to be a 10$ set? Anyway, next year is also Spiderman Homecoming and Thor:Ragnarok. Quote
Jayoheazy Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Wolv/Magneto looks great, along with Thanos. Ironman looks awful IMO. Very plain and mustardy Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Their is no doubt in my mind that there will be more than 3 GOTG 2 sets. The first avengers movie had 4 sets, age of ultron had 6 sets. The first GOTG wave of sets had 3, so it would make sense to have 5 GOTG 2 sets. More characters mean more sets. There should be a cheap set around $13, featuring a guardian and some type of goon. I'm looking forward to this next wave of sets. Quote

I'm looking forward to this next wave of sets. Yeah. Now they need to go around Mantis, Yondu, maybe some Ravegers (like Kraglin or Sylvester Stallone), Peters father (doubtful to be J'son, but that's a discussion for a different thread), the new villain and maybe even Wonder Man, plus there's all 5 Guardians and Nebula returning Quote
benderisgreat Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Yeah. Now they need to go around Mantis, Yondu, maybe some Ravegers (like Kraglin or Sylvester Stallone), Peters father (doubtful to be J'son, but that's a discussion for a different thread), the new villain and maybe even Wonder Man, plus there's all 5 Guardians and Nebula returning Considering Marvel said that they will have more merchandise featuring female characters, there's no doubt Gamora will be in at least 2 sets, plus a set with Mantis and main villain who is also female according to rumors. So there's no way Lego will make less than 5 GoTG 2 sets. Can't wait to see baby Groot done in Lego! Quote
Sir Gareth Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 ...there's no way LEGO will make less than five GOTG 2 sets... Don't count on it. Quote
benderisgreat Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Don't count on it. Don't count on it. like mentioned above, Avengers 2 had 6 sets and it was main Marvel movie for 2015. And GoTG 2 is Marvel main movie for 2017, so it makes sense to expect around the same amount of sets for GoTG 2. I only suggested how many sets we'll get, but if you have any info regarding upcoming sets please share if you can. Quote
