Sir Gareth Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 I'd just like to point out that Captain America: Civil War, this year's flagship Marvel film, only received three non-retailer-exclusive sets, as did Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice... Three seems to be the magic number... Quote
NXS7 Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 (edited) Three seems to be the magic number... Unless the title of the film uses the word 'Avengers' 2012: 4 sets 2015: 6 sets 2018/2019: 12 sets (estimated) Edited July 3, 2016 by Quicksilver838 Quote
Sir Gareth Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Unless the title of the film includes the word, "Avengers" That'd be the exception Quote
Ultron Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Ironman looks awful IMO. Very plain and mustardy Well....that's how Classic Iron Man kind of looks...Bright red and yellow with minimal detailing. I think they captured it quite perfectly. Quote
Jbricks Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 there's no doubt Gamora will be in at least 2 sets So there's no way Lego will make less than 5 GoTG 2 sets. "No doubt" "No way" Sorry, but your inferences aren't confirmation. Gamora could die in the first scene and appear in 0 sets for all we know. Just because something is possible or makes sense doesn't mean it's guaranteed, especially with Lego. Pushing female characters didn't make Black Widow have a second appearance in Civil War sets, and the large amount of characters didn't stop Lego from making only four ("less than 5") CW sets, excluding the polybag. Legocity2713 Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 Tough crowd. No wonder just2good lost interest in hinting future sets... Well, considering the "or the last " addition to your other post I hope you still have an interest in hinting future sets. That said, I just noticed that the Scorpion Mighty Micro is very reminiscent of the 90s Spider-Man Animated Series with all the lime green which makes it even cooler in my eyes. Quote

Pulp Detective Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 Tough crowd. No wonder just2good lost interest in hinting future sets... Might get a little off-topic but here are my five cents on the matter.I can't speak up about everyone else in here but I personally never liked the whole "hinting" game you guys like to play. You either feel comfotable enough to share the information you have or you don't.Just give a straight answer and not the likes of "this might happen or that might be somewhat true". Sir Gareth Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 Straight Talk: There will be less than five Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 sets releasing in March, four at the most. Quote

Amazing Bricks Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 Sounds reasonable! 4 sets worked for civil war and it should work for GOTG 2. Quote

I do agree, but there's only so much they can say at a time. Dropping a hint to a certain minifigure or build is fine I believe, but they can get in trouble for just giving all the information out at once Quote
Sir Gareth Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 (edited) The hints are primarily just to serve as a guide, steering you in the right direction as we near official information. Edited July 4, 2016 by Sir Gareth Quote

LegoRomania Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 (edited) Next year are three movies: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2-sets Spider-Man Homecoming-possible? Thor:Ragnarok-? Edited July 4, 2016 by LegoRomania Quote
The Lego Nolan Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 Next year are three movies: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2-sets Spider-Man Homecoming-possible? Thor:Ragnarok-? I'd say we will probably get Homecoming sets as we get Spidey sets every year anyway. Quote
EdWebhead Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 Yup, Homecoming sets are very likely as Spider-Man is a huge seller. That'll also provide us with a new Iron Man variant as he's going to be in the movie. Quote
Battlinpanther Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 (edited) I'm interested in how many Spider-Man sets they'll make for Homecoming. Like Ant-Man and Doctor Strange it probably won't have a lot of marketable characters outside of the main heroes and villains (plus Iron Man). Actually, given the discussion about the main film of the year getting more sets than the others, could Ragnarok be considered the main film of 2017, or Guardians 2? Yeah. Now they need to go around Mantis, Yondu, maybe some Ravegers (like Kraglin or Sylvester Stallone), Peters father (doubtful to be J'son, but that's a discussion for a different thread), the new villain and maybe even Wonder Man, plus there's all 5 Guardians and Nebula returning When they said there will be more merchandise for the women, I imagine they were talking about other things. There was lots of controversy about instances of T-shirts and posters and stuff that had all the heroes but the women like Black Widow and Gamora, so they'll probably try to avoid that. Lego is generally pretty good with the female heroes. They got all three women in Civil War (even Sharon Carter, who didn't do anything) so it's not like they're really bad in this area or anything. We'll see Gamora and Mantis minifigs but I doubt they'll warrant multiple sets. Edited July 4, 2016 by Battlinpanther Quote

Finally more concrete info about GoTG 2 sets. I kinda agree with opinions above about hints, you either can or can't share info, never liked ambiguous hints tbh. Agree with both of these points, so much! The hinting game feels really, really patronizing. If you have to protect your sources, be mature and don't say anything. If you can say something, we'd love to hear it. But stringing us along with tiny hints of information, (not talking specifically about you, but usually while sounding very smug) gets old really fast. Straight Talk: There will be less than five Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 sets releasing in March, four at the most. Thanks! This is the kind of thing I love to hear! This is nice to know! I'm not bothered about the number; 3 was enough to represent most movies we've gotten lately! Quote
