Sir Gareth Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 (edited) Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is to Captain America: Civil War, as Spider-Man: Homecoming and Thor: Ragnarok are to Doctor Strange. Rule of Thumb: Marvel's flagship films are predominantly released in May. Edited July 5, 2016 by Sir Gareth Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Yeah, that was pretty obvious. I can't wait to potentially see Spiderman and iron man together in a set. Quote
Marvelous Spidey Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Yeah, that was pretty obvious. I can't wait to potentially see Spiderman and iron man together in a set. It's honestly a little odd it hasn't happened yet. I guess it's because LEGO likes to keep their two biggest Marvel set sellers separate. Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 I feel like a lot of the Guardians hype has been muffled by Spider-Man and recent Civil War buzz. Thor Ragnarok definitely qualifies as the smallest movie, but I wouldn't be so certain that Guardians is the flagship just yet. I'd say Comic Con will really paint that picture, since we're supposed to see Guardians footage there, which oughta start the real hype. Personally, I think just a little more actual information about Homecoming is all that it'll take to top Guardians. It's honestly a little odd it hasn't happened yet. I guess it's because LEGO likes to keep their two biggest Marvel set sellers separate. Has Spidey appeared in a set with any character that exists in the MCU? Nick Fury is the only one I can think of, but he's just as much an Ultimate Spider-Man character. Quote

Captain America, Hawkeye, and vision in 76067, and now he has the chance to be with iron man in a set next year. Edited July 5, 2016 by amazingbricks Quote

Robert8 Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Oh I didn't know there was a Scorpion themed villain (?) in the Marvel Universe I love him! Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Classic iron man looks amazing with his helmet on Quote
benderisgreat Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Don't think Iron Man will be in a Spiderman Homecoming, so probably not in a set. Tony Stark on the other hand will be in a movie, so a possible minifigure. It's nice to hear that Thor 3 will get a set, will be first Thor movie set! Quote
thedudeabides Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Actually it is almost certain that Iron Man will appear in Spider-Man: Homecoming Quote

benderisgreat Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Iron Man is confirmed to appear in Spider-Man Homecoming. According to rumors he will appear without armor, as Tony Stark. It's cheaper to have RDJ in a movie without armor, plus if he wore armor it would take away from Spidey own movie. Quote
NXS7 Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Iron Man is confirmed to appear in Spider-Man Homecoming. No Robert Downey Jr is only confirmed as Tony Stark. Whether he be Iron Man or not is yet to be seen Quote

legosamsonite Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Im pretty sure the accords keep him from suiting up to help spidey so he may not appear Quote
Captain Nemo Posted July 5, 2016 Author Posted July 5, 2016 Guys, please do not discuss the movies here. Focus on the Lego sets. Quote
Ultron Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Well after we get this iron man, all we'll need are classic antman and wasp to complete a classic avengers lineup! Classic iron man looks amazing with his helmet on He looks so good! Can't wait to give him longer legs. Good thing red legs are common, unlike the pearl silver for the Ultron Mighty Micro :/ I'll probably end up buying the Xmen one too. I want to support it so that maybe there's more reason to have Xmen sets again one day! Also, does anyone know if there are regular legs in that color for Thanos? Quote
Battlinpanther Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Who said Thor 3 will get a set? I imagine we'll get one. They didn't bother doing one for Dark World but with the Hulk involved (as well as a bunch of new characters) I'm sure Lego is gonna do something. Plus while they didn't do anything for Thor 2 or Cap 2, so far we have gotten sets for every MCU film since Guardians. Quote

Nick Fury is the only one I can think of, but he's just as much an Ultimate Spider-Man character. Technically Power Man and Iron Fist are part of the MCU, but they're in the same situation where it was through the Ultimate Spider-Man line. But yeah, as AmazingBricks pointed out the divide between X-Men/Avengers/Spider-Man is breaking down some on the Avengers/Spider-Man side now that he's in the MCU. But it is a bit surprising how strong the divisions between Marvel lines had been before then. Quote
