I've built these vehicles to be used for the town airport. It is a small unit containing a water (or foam) cannon, a tank with ladder, tools and hose and a paramedic vehicle.

They are pretty cool. I always preferred 4 studs wide vehicles.

You should also build a stair vehicle and an aircraft tow tractor.

Thank you. I usually build the vehicles in 4 wide because I like the classic town way of building. Good point regarding the stair vehicle and tow tractor.

I love it, 4 wide airport is the best! I have ZERO interest in modern lego airport and aircraft, 6 wide is just excessive for Lego scale when it comes to that.

I just finished rebuilding some of my early 1990s airport sets and I still love the way the 4 wide jets look.

Thanks for your comment. I have the same opinion as you regarding the aircraft scale. In the same time I've seen many beautiful works in 6 or 8 wide. Most of my sets are from the middle of the 80s and I prefer to keep the 4 wide scale even I use modern elements and techniques. Maybe a Neoclassic Town movement could be brought in attention. Who knows? :)

The problem with building a stair vehicle in this scale is that the planes are really low usually.

Well, I'll take the challenge :) A mobile stair is contained by 10159 International Airport set. Indeed it is not very inspired but is useful. http://lego.brickinstructions.com/lego_instructions/set/10159/City_Airport

Good work ! I also prefer 4w studs wide vehicle than 6w one.

Thank you.
