narbilu Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Captain Bran and the Queens Shade - my first BoBS build - Last night, Captain Uli Bran gathered the last few men for his journey east. A small regiment boarded, the supplies for the Quinnsville was loaded on board and Captain Bran overlooked the whole process with joyful eyes. The first official mission, setting sail to newly discovered islands under the reign of our Majesty, starting my new life far away from where he grew up. With pride he stood on the deck of his newly assigned Class 2T cog the Queens Shade, watching the crew prepare for their trip. By dawn the sail was raised, the early wind caught the ship and dragged it into the open ocean. Captain Bran pulled his wheel towards Cocovia, a long journey towards the new settlements. On a sidenote: Thanks for the compliment for seeing me as a veteran builder, but to be honest this is my first MOC including building a ship of this size. So this is new to me too... on the other hand, I won't post anything that I am not satisfied with. So I hope you like it, I do. Some systems are not really clear to me yet, so explain, how this build can be maximized for the Economic system or just one of the Trade projects. Thanks for your help. For example, what do I put in the title so I will get the appropriate bonuses? Quote
Tezclatipoca Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 That's a nice begining ! I like this cog, though some more rigging could add a lot to the ship (but it's really a pain in the megablock to do a good one...) To answer to your question : you need to register the ship using a ship license form You'll have to follow this form and don't forget to tick the free license part of this form. With that, your ship will be registered for free, as it's your first one. And you can make an extra 10Dbs by registering this build as a freebuild for july ! just fill the freebuild registration form and don't forget to add a link of your build in the Monthly freebuild registration thread made by Garmadon ! Yes, it's a lot paperwork ! If you want to be precise in your title, you can, but it's not an obligation, add FB 1 (1st Freebuild) COR (Corrington) JULY, and precise you made a ship by adding SHIP. But it's a bit long, and some players are not doing this. You're free on this, but for the BoBS index and to help Maxim to maintain it, it's a nice attention for him to add SHIP. I hope that helps ! TitusV Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 For a first ship, this is very great. Personally, I think the stern is a bit too flat, but well, that's IMHO. And I really like the rest! Quote
CelesAurivern Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 ome systems are not really clear to me yet, so explain, how this build can be maximized for the Economic system or just one of the Trade projects. As a 2T it's already quite maximised for trade, having a good cargo modifier. Bregir or Mike could hook you up with a Corrington Convoy perhaps? Quote
blackdeathgr Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 A nice first take on a ship. I find it lovingly built and cute. As to how you can contribute to the Economic Game System (or EGS), after you have chosen your preferred faction (namely Corrington in your case), your fellow co-builders can help you tremendously at the respected thread. Or better yet, always helpful Faladrin summed it up for you Quote
SilentWolf Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 (edited) This is way better than my first ship build for BOBS. It looks like what I would expect from a merchanting cog. I look forward to the future ships you build. Edited July 4, 2016 by SilentWolf Quote
Capt Wolf Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Good job with your first ship. It is immediately recognizable as a cog. And I like that you're telling Captain Bran's story with your builds. You're off to a great start in BoBS, and I look forward to seeing more from you. Quote
