Jim/mods...if you think this thread is spam or a waste without pics etc/too soon then please delete.

I got a formal warning over those fake Chinese threads I started...so I do not want to get banned!

Let me explain my thought process first, it will probably be considered by most to be expensive.. even bizarre.

I bought 8448 second hand off eBay for €161 with shipping. No box + manual #1 was missing, but the guy who owned it kept it inside a case for years...it was mint, really superb condition.

I am obsessed with rebuilding old sets by swapping out old parts for brand new, where possible.

Anything I can't find/have brand new gets washed and polished. This is where I am at now, I am almost finished parting out and cleaning 8448.

I am almost ready to build, I want to try do a review/pictorial rebuild of this classic set.

When I start I will take pics as I move along the build process. Give my thoughts on the build and the set etc.

Probably be another week though before I sit down and build, but I wanted to give you guys a preview/heads up of what is coming :-)

(edit):: i took a couple of pics of the parts bag, full to the brim!!!
