LordDan Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 Throughout the many wild islands and tropical jungles of Kaliphlin there are many unique beasts and creatures. There are many rumors and legends about ancient, gigantic beast that once ruled the lands eons ago until they were struck down by a great ball of fire falling from the heavens. However some say that the ancestors of these great beasts still live on, secluded from the rest of the world on one of the many small islands off the coast of Kaliphlin. Now, after years of searching, explorers from the University of Petrea have discovered these magnificent creatures and proved beyond a doubt the truth behind the old stories... This build started off as an attempt to build a dragon in the style of the ones from How to Train Your Dragon ( colorful, animated looking, etc) but it ended up as a dino instead. C and C appreciated. Quote
Henjin_Quilones Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 (edited) It is a very nice, smaller-scale beastie, rather than the large dragons that seem to be more popular (I know I like the big flyers myself). The bright colors look great and I like the use of the flipper for the face. It has a great amount of detail for its scale. And anything inspired by HTTYD is good, too. Well done! Now just add some wings, and a Lego Hiccup or Astrid, and let's fly! Edited July 6, 2016 by Henjin_Quilones Quote
Mr Greeble Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 I can see the inspiration. Very cute little dinosaur. Quote
LittleJohn Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 Great vignette, LD! The base with little tree in the back is nice, and good use of that flipper Quote
BrickCurve Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 Great job! The storyline, base and tree make an excellent background for the creature. I look forward to seeing where you go with that storyline! Quote
Tezclatipoca Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 Nice vignette ! I like this beast a lot ! Greatly done ! Good job ! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 Pretty neat dino/dragon! Great palm tree too, the whip wrapped around the trunk looks great Quote
TitusV Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 That looks very nice! My favoured part is defenitely the use of the flipper! Quote
ixypixy Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 Ahhh, it's a very unique and cute little dragon. I agree it's got more of a dino feel to it but it doesn't stop it looking great. You've definitely achieved that animated look to it with the zingy greens and it's a great base and palm tree as well. Quote
BrickCurve Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 I forgot to ask, is that the Indiana jones whip used as a vine around the tree? Quote
