Brickenberg Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 (edited) Dear friends! I'm glad to present you my modular building project. My project includes the casino building and little abandoned building. Unfortunately I can't upload to this topic more than one image. I can't understand why. So I suggest you look at the other images on the page of the project on the lego ideas website. More photos you can see there: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/145201 But don't forget to click support!;) Enjoy! Edited July 14, 2016 by Brickenberg Quote

Brickenberg Posted July 14, 2016 Author Posted July 14, 2016 In another color, i would love it instantly... so now i would only chose another color.. It reminds me of Monaco.... I wanted to create a building that is similar in style to the Winter Palace in St. Petersburg Quote
Mr Greeble Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 In another color, i would love it instantly... so now i would only chose another color.. It reminds me of Monaco.... I agree about the color, but It is still a very nicely made building. Some great detailing going on. Quote
cimddwc Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Actually, I quite like the color of the main building. (What is it, turquoise?) But it clashes with the blue (azure?) of the small building on the left... Anyway, some great detailing indeed! Quote

I really liked the idea, which is realized in the Brick bank: 2 buildings from the outside, but inside the 1. This adds variety to my mind the overall look of the building. You don't like the blue color or design of the building as a whole? Quote
Severus A Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 (edited) Beautiful neo baroque (or Austrian Secession ?) building. This kind of town landscapes could be seen yet in Central Europe. Edited July 14, 2016 by Severus A Quote
cimddwc Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 You don't like the blue color or design of the building as a whole? I do like the buildings (and I've built some fancy details myself, too), and for itself, the small one does look good in blue, too. I only think that the combination of these two colors next to each other doesn't look that good. Quote

I have some ideas for big reconstruction of this buildings. But it will be another independent project. Quote

BrickCurve Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 I forgot to mention, nice use of that part for the roof. Quote
Withacee Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 Nice one, I really like it. I would love to see this in real bricks. It might look a bit over the top, colour-wise, but I know the Winter Palace in St. Petersburg, and it reminded me of this. Given the right context, it really works. I agree it might not look great next to some other modulars, but hey, that happens in every city in the world! And besides, the colours are easily replaced. Keep clicking those bricks together! Quote
Brickenberg Posted July 22, 2016 Author Posted July 22, 2016 I'm understand, that many lego fans don't like an idea with lego casino. But I think the casino - it's part of our lives. Casino is legal in many countries. But there are cheating and fraud in many areas of our lives. Banks at least profit from the savings of citizens than the casino. And sometimes take money from citizens at all. Remember the crisis in Cyprus. Stock Exchange - is the largest legal casino in the world. But for some reason the casino is a negative reaction from many fans of Lego. Quote
Brickextreme Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 I normally don't like such bright color but the torquiose works for me. I do agree with earlier comment that it clashes with small building. Maybe orange or medium dark flesh for smaller building would look better? Quote
Sorrelon Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 Looks awesome! The building itself is lovely, and I think colours look beautiful as well. I guess the main reason of people complaining about colours is the abrupt change of colours when your MOC is placed together with other buildings on the each side of your MOC. It looks rather good together with the Brick Bank, which also has white colour on the second floor. If you place it between Brick Bank and Parisian Restaurant (or Green Grocer) instead of placing it between Brick Bank and Pet Shop, I believe the colours of buildings might suit each other much better. As for casinos, I have no problem with having Lego casinos myself. But, I don't think Lego will ever release an official casino (modular or not), mostly because if they do, someone will bring it to the court by accusing Lego of influencing children and encouraging them to gamble. By the way, is your MOC accurate to it's real life counterpart height-wise? I think it can use an extra floor, although it'd probably put it on the same height as the Town Hall or Palace Cinema, perhaps even higher. Quote
brickblues Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 Nice job Brickenberg!! I like the color scheme you used very much, and the façade detailing is beutiful! Very European! The Casino function is quite debatable and imho, Lego would never support this for various reasons. But still, liberty to play and build, gives us opportunity to imagine our modular neighborhoods as we like. And some of them would need a Casino for sure! Maybe you could have think of more subtle and less direct "message", something like Lego came up with when introducing "money laundering" in The Brick Bank...which is informative and educational. Brickenberg Posted September 5, 2016 Author Posted September 5, 2016 (edited) Thank you, dear friends for your great comments. I redid this building to another project where there is nothing forbidden.
