LegoDego Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Hello, this is my entry - Porsche 914. My model has flat four-cylinder engine, realistic rear suspension with trailing arms and double wishbone front suspension, openable: hood (with prop), trunk (in which the roof is stored) and doors (with fixation), and also very nice seats, adjustable working steering wheel, sun visors (which are also parts of the roof) and rising headlights (controls from passenger compartment). Roof in the trunk With roof Interior Rear supension and flat engine My favorite feature - rising headlights:) I hope you like it, more photos on my flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/139343351@N04/ Quote
syclone Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Love those pop-up headlights +1 about the roof, somewhat too high Quote
Rishab N Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 I agree with the others that the roof is a bit too high. Aside from that great entry! Quote
metulskie8 Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Super... my favorite Porsche from Lego Technic. I'm very excited. Quote
LegoDego Posted July 15, 2016 Author Posted July 15, 2016 (edited) I think the roof doesn't look good, it seems way too high, besides that, I really like it, especially the interior. Love those pop-up headlights +1 about the roof, somewhat too high I agree with the others that the roof is a bit too high. Aside from that great entry! I know that problem and roof was lower but I have another problem with doors, so this is only way to solve it But I glad to see that someone likes my model:) Thank you Edited July 15, 2016 by LegoDego Quote
Thirdwigg Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Great job. My entry alludes to the 914. Great to see this. What is the problem with the doors keeping you from lowing the roof? Quote
Seasider Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Wow ! Any chance of an Ldd file for this ? This is my favourite Porsche, I almost bought one a few years back, I did actually try to build one for this competition but couldn't solve the problem of the rear suspension and drivetrain. I do agree the roof could be a stud or 2 lower Quote
TheMindGarage Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Nice! I like the looks a lot, and the parts used to make the back of the seats are imaginative. My entry will have the 914 name (914.5 to be precise), but won't be anything like the real 914... Quote
LegoDego Posted July 15, 2016 Author Posted July 15, 2016 (edited) Wow ! Any chance of an Ldd file for this ? This is my favourite Porsche, I almost bought one a few years back, I did actually try to build one for this competition but couldn't solve the problem of the rear suspension and drivetrain. I do agree the roof could be a stud or 2 lower I can make an instruction (after some improvements), but it depends on how many people interested in it. I could make 5 stud height roof instead 7, but it's too low and due to flex axles and panels I can't get a shape which I want. So I think that this roof is pretty good for me. And probably I will make detailed photos of a rear suspension;) Edited July 16, 2016 by LegoDego Quote
LegoDego Posted July 23, 2016 Author Posted July 23, 2016 (edited) Some improvements of the rear suspension: moved shock absorbers closer to the center (sometimes wheels touched mounting) and add leverage to increase the strength of the structure. Edited July 23, 2016 by LegoDego Quote
