XAxles Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 I do not like the Mercedes F1 set. It's wrong, wrong, wrong. Quote
Man with a hat Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 yeah, that green must be a mistake... But the other sets look quite ok. I will be mainly going for the ford GT's, the Bugatti and the Mercedes AMG and perhaps the Ferrari FXX K. Quote
GallardoLU Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 AMG, FXX K, Ferrari F1 (I skipped the hauler), and Ford GTs are all must haves for me. the Bugatti is a strong want as well but I could pass on it for the others easily. FXX K is the stand out for me though, a very very must have. Quote
blurrkup Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Will be geting them all to keep the series complete, but agree the Mercedes F1 set looks the wrong colour. Quote
Vectormatic Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Hmm, The AMG, Ferrari F1 and Bugatti are sure buys, the Ford GTs a maybe, and the rest a pass, i like the FXX-K set, but €55 for essentially one car (i dont display the set pieces) is just not acceptable. And yes, the Merc F1 set is all kinds of wrong Also, i notice a black helmet on the SF16-H driver, didnt the set have a white helmet before? (ill be giving him a white one anyway) Quote
TheLegoPerson9 Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 The Ford set, the Chiron, and the AMG GT3 are must haves. Wanne see if I can mod the GT3 into an AMG GT or AMG GT-R. I also like the FXX K set, but, not sure when I'll get that. Also, the Ford set makes me wish they do that more. How cool would it be to have a set with a Mclaren F1 GTR or a Mclaren P1 GTR? Or a F1 LM and a P1 LM? Quote
letsbuild Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 Ferrari F1, Bugatti Chiron, and Ford Gts have now been put on my to-buy-in-2017 list. Quote

XAxles Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 Hoo, boy. Those things look like The Business. Anyway... time for the takes. 75877: One of the rare cases where I wanted the grille to be printed than stickered, as the model provides a front end that follows the road car version, but then, the grilles would only be useful in grey, so I digress and just go 'shop the stickers for different color palettes. Otherwise, accurate model, with YELLOW RIMS!!!, a cool driver figure, and spot-on bodywork. 75878: I knew it as meant to be. LEGO's inherently blocky nature lends well to the Chiron's immensity, and it shows. The pop-up wing needs a change (the real car's wing is as long as the car is wide), but otherwise, it's a well-done rendit--OH WAIT A SECOND I CAN SEE SOME NEW PARTS IN THE FRONT END AND THEY INTENTIONALLY DISCOLORED IT AND WOW WOW WOW THIS IS BIG NEWS 75879: Singles F1 car. Standard build. Accurate, but I couldn't care less because the real car sucks. Moving on... 75881: Even if I've seen these models for so many times, I still have zero idea how they nailed the buttress on the New GT GTE. If anything, this is living up to the hype. 75882: Does TLG realize that the name of the car is a swear word? Anyway... FXXK-ing amazing. Barring the slightly questionable splitter , the car is finely-recreated, and the development center is just as good as the model. My money's on this first. 75883: AAAAGGGGGGGGHHHGGGHRAHRHARGHAGRHARHAGRHGAHRHAGRHAGRGAGRHRGAGRHAGRHAGRHARHAGRHGHRGAHGRHAGRAGHRGHAGRHAGRHAGRH WHY IS EVERYTHING BRIGHT GREEN AND NOT SAND GREEN?! IT"S SUPPOSED TO BE SAND GREEN!!! Major turn-off, really. The rest of the model is incredible, but the green... GP2 ENGINE!!! ARGH!!!! There. As always, don't mind the stickers, they're a necessary evil, just recolor them using an image manipulation utility. In general... this theme has so much momentum... and I have a feeling we haven't seen them all yet. Quote
RacerRabbit Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 As with the past two waves, I'll be getting them all. I find the rear of the Bugatti very interesting as it looks like it uses a rubber band for its rear lights. Very interesting indeed. The new curved slope wedge looks nice too. Quote
XAxles Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 So we know of 75880 as Mercedes Pit Stop... ??? But we already have the F1 cars. Could it be that we're getting the Sauber LMP cars, C9 and C11? Could it be an extra AMG-GT3 and an SLS GT3? Could it be that new hypercar they've yet to reveal? Quote

I totally missed the yellow rims on the AMG, that thing just gets better and better, my only gripe is the studs above the wheel arches, but that cant be helped if you want the profile of the car kept low. I might even be temped to get two of these for a proper GT3 outfit to take on the 911Hybrid and R8 GTLM The GT GTE is an interesting looking build, i just have the same problem with it as you do with the SF16H, i really dislike the real thing... GallardoLU Posted January 3, 2017 Posted January 3, 2017 From the moment I heard they were doing the FXX K I was excited, but this set really hit a home run, can't wait to get my hands on it! (image from hothbricks) Quote

Koenigsegg Koenigsegg Koenigsegg Koenigsegg Koenigsegg Koenigsegg Koenigsegg Koenigsegg. Sorry, I just really want to see Koenigsegg in this theme at some point haha. The 2015 and 2016 sets were great, but, the overall finish of the vehicles seems to be getting better with each wave. Quote

All I know about cars is they have four wheels. But LEGO has done an amazing job with this series. I think they keep getting better because LEGO finally released, new molds aren't bad. 15 years ago LEGO made a lot of horrible new molds that were huge. They took a break and have really improved the last several years. All the new smaller pieces are being used excellently in these sets. Of course my favorite is Bugatti Chiron 75878, the one with the least amount of stickers. :) Quote
GallardoLU Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 (edited) by the way has anyone heard about set, 75880: McLaren Road Car? Brickset still lists it though that could be outdated info. just wondering if there was any more info out there on this forgotten set. if it is still coming which car would it be? P1 LM, P1 GTR, 675LT, 650S, 570S? Edited January 10, 2017 by GallardoLU Quote

P1 LM, P1 GTR, 675LT, 650S, 570S? It probably won't be the P1 GTR. That car is McLaren's idea to the FXXK. But it might be one of the last three you suggested. Whatever one it is, I hope we get pics of this set soon. Quote

Agreed, compare that FXX-K with the 2015 LaFerrari to see how far the design has come And i was rather impressed with the variety from 2016 compared to 2015 as well. Quote
HarrisonWells Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 Aggh, just disappointed that there's not more vintage cars. They need a whole line similar to speed champions, but only with vintage cars. Quote
