Traditional LEGO bricks had the LEGO logo on top of every stud, however ever since the diversification ofLEGO elements this is not always the case. Sometimes the LEGO logo can be found in the more obscure and unnoticable places on the pieces.

The LEGO horse for example - I have no idea where to find the LEGO logo on this magnificent beast or if it even has one at all. Could someone point out where it is? If in fact there is one at all.

Now, are there anymore examples you can think of?

I don't have one handy to check, but what about on the studs where the rider goes?

They are in fact hollow... That was the first place I checked. However I've checked under different lighting conditions and if you look closely enough the logo is there.

Ok, what about a mini-figures head? The head only.

The older heads (solid stud) had it printed right on the top of it... I don't think theres anywhere for it on the newer heads...

Yes, that's the conclusion I came to.

Feel free to submit your own pieces!

On the good old Pirates Cutlass its on the side of the blade but unless you look very closely you won't see it.

Yes, I know where it is on the cutlass, but where is it on the Castle Sword? Also, where is the logo on plumes? :-D

I suspect we're currently identifying with no LEGO Logo on them at all. Which is also the intent of this thread so good for us.

where is the logo on plumes? :-D

A guess: on plumes, it'll could the wheel they come attached to. I can't check because I don't keep them! Can anyone verify?

it'll could the wheel

doh!

I meant: It could be on the wheel !

Where's the logo on sloping roof bricks?

Uhhhh... I thought plumes were the feathers that could be attached to the mini-figures' hats. I'm not sure what a plume is in realtion to a wheel.

The plumes come on a 'wheel', three types of plumes per wheel... I think thats what he meant... ON that note, I have a few at home & I will look at them when I get off work :-D

Ahhhh yes... Now I'm with it... I forgot that's how plumes come. Come to think of it, I have several mint condition plume wheels except I've got them stored and right now I can't be bothered getting them out.

The moral to this story is never write and essay, prepare a slide show and watch Revenge of the Nerds II while posting here... You'll seem quite dopey.

Could you provide a picture Bloody Jay, I'm not exactly sure of the piece you speak of? Not that you're actually speaking...

I just happen to have one of those out and I can't find the logo on it anywhere. But I'm frazzled so that might be why.

I always have this problem when I receive a bulk lot purchased from someone through Ebay.

The auction listing will say "100% Lego" and things like that and they will swear up and down they checked twice, but inevitebaly when I received my "50 lbs of lego" or whatever that lot is it is always 49.8 lbs lego and .2 lbs junk....

I guess my point though is some junk is hard to tell. Especially for an AFOL like me just coming back from my dark ages in the past year or so. Many specialty pieces were released in the 7 or so years I was "away" and so sometimes I find myself thinking, "is this a Lego piece and I just can't find the logo, or there is no logo, or its a farking megablock!"

Sometimes I',m not sure and so for that reason I end up saving this pile of stuff that are the "maybes"

By "junk" are you referring to MegaBlok or other immitation brand pieces? Or are you referring to non-LEGO somehow ending up in the mix?

I keep the Megabloks and other copies as a sort of black museum or rogues gallery. Non-lego bricks are pretty easy to identify, but I usually end up with a load of non-brick plastic parts, most of which are broken bits of other toys completely, but some of which might be specialist parts, like unknown minifig tools, or maybe technic parts, or vehicle axles.

Hehe, I recently sorted laaaarge pile of used Lego. I found lots of Megablocks, some other (incompatible) building toys, toys from 'Kinder Surprise' etc. So in preliminary sorting all of this stuff went immediately in the trashbin.

Together with this: http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/x374 and http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/2474

I must have looked like homeless, digging in my trashbin for these parts :D

Do these parts have the LEGO Logo written on them anywhere?

I don't think the car wash brush has any LEGO logo, because, guess what (this is most surprising):

None of the LEGO Technic wheel axles (nor any similiar parts) have any LEGO logo...

Example:Common LEGO Technic axle

Unless one knew it was part of a LEGO sets, would the car wash brush be recognisable as a LEGO piece?

Is that piece also used in the street cleaning vehicle sets (whose numbers escape me, but we discussed them a while back)
