As the fierce struggle against the invading Algus continued, it became obvious that Mitgardia needed to strengthen its defense against the frozen beyond. Thus a new fortress was to be established in the north, to serve as the main bastion against this chilling foe. The construction of such a castle was no small feat, and troops and supplies were rallied from all of Mitgardia. Upon its completion, the great fortress Rekkrfell was manned by the Kylma Katsella.

This was built back in April of 2015, and was really too big for the parts and time I had available then. Thus, while there are several sections I really like, I'm not very pleased with the MOC as a whole.

There are more pictures available on my website, link.

C&C always welcome :classic:

Great MOC, het again!

Tough there are hundreds of little things I like (like the gabbles, the interior, angles, portculis and wooden sections), I have a little remark: the snow patches on the roof have a square feeling... More then in your other builds

Looks great to me! The only thing I think that needs work is the trees/ bushes at the front of the MOC, that are rather flat looking.

They are just weighed down by the snow

The fact that this is what you can do with too few parts and too little time speaks volumes about your skills as a builder, SK. I am very impressed. I really like the stone stairway down into the dining room, as well as the roof on the wooden corner tower. Your walls are, as usual, excellent, with great buttresses and decorative overhang. I do not love the cupola/little wooden room on top of the keep, however, as the alternation between 1x1 cylinders and 2x2 cylinders makes the corners seem unnecessarily busy. Perhaps going with one or the other, but not both, would have improved that (I think 2x2 would be better, but maybe those were parts you did not have at the moment). That is a minor point, however, in what is overall a very impressive build.

Very nice build, SK, and great way to finish off those Algus! :classic: I agree with you as to some parts being improvable while others are really great - the large tower/house and its interior, as well as the wooden tower top on the left being my favorite parts

Duuuuuude it looks awesome and I'd love to have just that many parts, I don't even have what it takes to build at half the size.

Looks great SK!! Love the fact that the castle don't have so many rectangular shapes in the walls!

In the interior part, which I Love as always, the details are just wow!!

Is the floor stabile when you don't have "secured" it in the last corner?

Impressive fortress, it definitely looks like it can withstand some destructive ice magic!

I like the roofs and the crenelations a lot, but the walls are maybe a bit too polished? And why are there half-plate gaps between the pillars and the wall..?

Awesome, I really like it a lot, especially the houses and the topping of the gate. Only the wooden battlements on the right corner feel a bit strange to me, but that can be just me :)
