Posted July 28, 20168 yr Hi there This is my entry for the Rebrick contest Build your dream Lego Technic Porsche The model 906 was build in 1966. Now we are 50 years further, so i thought it would be nice to build a 50 years anniversary edition. My entry of the Rebricks contest: Build you Dream Lego Technic Porsche. The Porsche 906 was originally build in 1966.Exact 50 yesra ago So i thought it will be nice to build the 50 years Anniversary edition. The real 906 had a great front but a very "simple" back . So i figured: why not build the model from the old days, combined with a modern feature on it So heres my creation: The model has • Automatic rearspoiler. (This spoiler rise automaticely when in 5th gear) (Unfortunally i only have the normal batterybox for feeding the servomotor. My plan was to use the rechargable one. That has a speed meter, so that the spoiler will rise slow) • Full independent suspension of all wheels • 5 + R gearbox • Fake boxerengine with moving pistons and airintakes • Bucket seats • Working Handbrake • Opening gull-wing doors and hood • Real steering • Front and rear lights with switch Measuring: L: 48 cm, W: 19,5 cm, H 13 cm More photos coming soon enjoy! July 28, 20168 yr Welcome to EB! I think you did okay....who am I kidding....this is some seriously nice work
July 28, 20168 yr Wow. The more fine models like this come out the more I feel sorry that I miss out this contest. The automatic spoiler rising this is something I always wanted to implement. Awesome job! Edited July 28, 20168 yr by Lipko
July 28, 20168 yr Wow. The more fine models like this come out the more I feel sorry that I miss out this contest. And the harder my judging duty will be
July 28, 20168 yr Welcome to EB indeed, this to start with! Very cool build...it has its slick looks...nice!
July 28, 20168 yr Nice model, thanks for sharing! I like the originality of your car and the connection to history to learn something about the real car as well . Wow. The more fine models like this come out the more I feel sorry that I miss out this contest. I share this feeling every time when I see such great entries and when some contest is beeing closed ... There are some really great entries on rebrick that weren´t presented here on EB. And the harder my judging duty will be I´m wondering about the "true" criteria, the winners will show. Because the ones stated on the site sound quite spongy and leave much room for personal preferences: Overall coolness and originality (25%) Most inspired details and functions on the model (25%) Understanding of the Porsche brand design and competition theme (25%) Overall LEGO Technic look and feel of the model (25%) Will this contest derive any ideas for TC10?
July 28, 20168 yr I´m wondering about the "true" criteria, the winners will show. Because the ones stated on the site sound quite spongy and leave much room for personal preferences: Some criteria are indeed personal. Overal coolness for example. But rest assured, for all the EB contests my winners ended up on the podium (or top 5 or something) Will this contest derive any ideas for TC10? Nope.
July 28, 20168 yr Author thnx everyone. i will added more detail photos later today (suspension is not show in my video (forgot to film.... )
July 28, 20168 yr Author As i promised, here some extra detail photos of the 906 First two comparison photos: And some photos of how the spoiler works: When the fifth gear is active, the pushrod activates a switch that will set a servo motor in upward position. When an other gear is selected, the pushrod set back the switch and also the servo in neutral position here you see the switch: And here the pushrods for shifting gears: (the gears are for the photo a little messed up) the upper pushrod is for shifting between 4th and 5th gear. When in 5th gear the rod turns the hinge that is connected to the switch. btw: the 5 + R gears requires only 3 studs wide In the rear end of the car is a build in servo motor that push the spoiler up Suspension: Front i used a basic wheel connector, because of the little room i had because of the very low front hood. The springs in front are mounted on a rare way. Almost horizontally, but it works fine For the suspension on the backside i used a different connection. With a three way connection due a ball pushrod and a single hard spring i think this suspension is great Several detailed photos: engine: Cockpit: Lights: Frontlights are two Powerfunctions Leds (it has double headlights) Rear is 1 PF led per side Hope you enjoyed it! July 29, 20168 yr Author thnx here two photos of the gull wing doors and entree Why is there a hole in the entry pad, you ask yourself... because unterneath there is the switch for the lights. otherwise i cant reach it:) Edited July 29, 20168 yr by Techniccrack
August 10, 20168 yr Really nice car, well done! The only thing I don't like is the windscreen. From the side it looks like it has a vertical windscreen. I would have added a black axle thorugh thge center of the windscreen, to "show" the curve a bit. For the rest, the model is very nice. I like the lines, and the internal structure seems to be very solid as well. The added lights are a nice bonus!

And i try the axle as you discribe, however this wasnt an option, because it turned out not that great.:) Techniccrack Edited August 10, 20168 yr by Techniccrack
