G'day All,

The 2016 Brick Expo was held in Canberra this weekend and was a whole lot of fun. We made it a celebration of 50 years of Lego Trains and had blue track, grey (golden) era 12v, 9v, power functions and monorail. So much monorail.

For those who couldn't make it due to being in the other hemisphere, there was a 3D scan done late on Friday night that features the train layout so you can do a virtual walk through!

I would love to know what you think of the layout and get pointers from the more experienced exhibitors in the group. My easy favourite is the 12v section because it looked like something straight out of the 7777 ideas book.

Here is a news article with some additional information and the scan embedded.

Thanks! Looks very nice indeed!

Wow! Spectacular 3D image work. Makes me appreciate your LUG meeting even more.

Brilliant!!

So that's where all the monorail track has gone! ;)

Great layout

Awesome layouts and ditto reporting. The 3d thing is magic!

O WOW. That's amazing.

Thanks for sharing. I will be in the 3D Layout for a while.

Hi All,

Thank you all for the positive comments, the layout brought many smiles to many faces. And no, I regret that monorail track is not mine:)

I have just updated the first post with a video of the CLUG train display at Brickexpo 2016. I have tried to include the most cheesy music possible. Enjoy

Rob

Really nicely you used the achievements of 3D-technology to display your LUG's work. It was almost the feeling I'm there, except the trains weren't running. Great job!
