High Baron Vindavin Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 This is a gatehouse situated on the norther outskirts of Odinshire (Odinshire is what I have decided to name the village Lord Clutchski rules over) and serves as a guarded entrance to the village and first line of defense. Here, we see an archer standing watch and a knight leaving for a routine patrol to find lost travelers, or unwanted guests. sorry about the fuzzy picture that's also an attachment, I have been having some weird problems wit the URL pictures. it says that "you are not allowed to use that image extension in this community." even though I have done the exact same thing before. Weird. https://1drv.ms/i/s!Ag1BfaoqmAZShixnY7M0ej_A2J8l this should work better. Quote
BrickCurve Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Looks nice. A higher camera angle when you took the picture would make it easier to see the entire MOC. Also, uploading the photos to a site like Flickr or Brick Safe would make the viewing much easier than how you are currently doing it. Quote
Alfadas Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Try using flickr, that works. Just make an account of Flickr.com, upload the photo. Then, in the right hand bottom corner there is a button that says "view all sizes", click that, select the size you want, right click on the picture and "copy image address". Then in this comment box you see "image" when you hover over it. Paste the link in there and voila, a picture that isn't blurry (as long as it isn't blurry to begin with). Hope that helps Anyway, nice introduction into Mitgardia! Quote
gedren_y Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Flickr, like the others. Just be sure to select an image size of 800x600 or smaller. Also to make the BBCode come out neat you can add a line break or delete everything after [/image][/url]. To do this it is best to use the toggle button so you can see all the BBCode for editing. Henjin_Quilones Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Aside from the picture quality, I think you have done a good job with the SNOTed 1x4x1 log bricks to make the wall; it creates the impression of logs stacked on top of each other to form a simple sort of barrier rather nicely. In fact, you have quite a bit of SNOT-work here, which I always like to see. (Of course, I had to click on your link to see it, since your picture was so fuzzy ) Quote
High Baron Vindavin Posted August 4, 2016 Author Posted August 4, 2016 yah sorry, my computers having, issues. The picture was the one in the link, but of course an attachment has to be 100KB max, so I had to do a LOT of cropping. I will get a Flickr. Quote
Henjin_Quilones Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 I will get a Flickr. It's a good idea. It's free and easy to use, and Eurobricks has some helpful tutorials in the FAQ section about how to use it to share pics on the forum. Quote
soccerkid6 Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 Neat build to start the gatehouse series off with. Everyone else has given you some very useful tips for your photo presentation already I like the dark green you used in the gate section, and how you topped the walls with white plates for snow. TitusV Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 What I can see looks very good, but as said before the image could be a tad larger. Nice start, that much may follow! Quote
LittleJohn Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Great little build, the SNOT log bricks are very effective here The angled entrance and snow-capped walls are excellent too Quote
