sebitsena Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 I'm going to get this Pizza Van: it's cool and detailed. For the second set, i don't know what to buy between the 4x4 with catamaran and the pick-up with quads. The pick-up is nice, but the catamaran is quite charming too. Which set do you prefer? Quote

I really like the Catamaran. LEGO makes a SVU / Truck with quads every other year, there is nothing special, but that catamaran, very cool. But I'll probably get both when I have the money. Quote
just2good Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 Here's a new set, this image was found on LEGO's image servers which has hundreds of new pictures for 2017 sets. How to use it: Full size picture: http://cache.lego.com/r/dynamic/is/image/LEGO/60142?op_sharpen=0&resmode=sharp4&wid=4000&fit=constrain,1&fmt=png-alpha To find alternates (edit the "_alt" after the set number by counting upwards): http://cache.lego.com/r/dynamic/is/image/LEGO/60142_alt1?op_sharpen=0&resmode=sharp4&wid=4000&fit=constrain,1&fmt=png-alpha Quote

The Plastic Archer Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 That's because she is getting away! Why is the money transporter truck a police vehicle? How odd... Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted November 30, 2016 Author Posted November 30, 2016 (edited) Thank you all very much for posting pictures, reviews and links! 19 hours ago, The Plastic Archer said: Why is the money transporter truck a police vehicle? How odd... Not absolutely odd: In general you're right that money, jewels and gold etc. are transported by private security companies in their vans. But at least here in Germany it's the case that large amounts of new printed banknotes are transported from the print office to huge banks by special and armored police trucks: And imo - aside from that it's a bit too small, missing car doors and weird safes on the outside of the van - the money transfer does really look cool! Btw: The massive police car in the bank robbery set seems to be designed after the following new, armored special vehicle for police forces: I really do like the car in Lego, too - it only disturbs that there are no blue lights and mainly no blue stripe or "Police" sticker in the back (big, plain white car doors do look bad)! Police money transfer, armored police car and police auto transport - these are really amazing vehicles which bring some variety in the otherwise sucked dry Police theme! Plus I really like special vehicles in all City subthemes! Keep on releasing more of these great sets, TLG! Edited November 30, 2016 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
koalayummies Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 Just built the Pizza Van, hands down one of the best Lego vehicles ever. Build tip: eat dinner beforehand. Even though I ate a rather large home-cooked meal prior to starting I was still craving a pizza. Quote

Vinny 33714 Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 the video of the survivor vehicle is a police version of the Bundeswehr dingo MRAP I believe built by Rheinmetall Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 Ah, so the city designers are using Germany to base their sets on ? Interesting, hmm, I was originally not liking the money transporter but it's okay since 'K-D' explained the back story. Our hopes are at NY Toy Fair time so we can see the second wave sets - fingers crossed it's a boom year not a bust. Quote

Hahaha. Now I don't feel so bad for wishing I was eating pizza continuously for the last 12 hours. Quote

I won't say the Pizza van is something like "The best", but it's indeed a very good and innovative set. Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 The only problem I have with this set is that it comes with ONE pizza slice (+ spare). I hoped we will get a whole sliced pizza. At least Friends pizzeria comes with much more pizzas :D Quote

Now I don't feel so bad for wishing I was eating pizza continuously for the last 12 hours. Last year I ate a full pizza for lunch and a full pizza for dinner. In between that I ate a bowl of frozen custard, then went home later and ate a pint of Ben and Jerry's (ice cream). Couldn't sleep and at 2am went to the store and ate another pint. My friend went "How the hell can you all that and look so good?" I looked at him and went "I biked here, I biked him, I biked to store. I bike a minimum of 20-30 miles a day, I can eat whatever I want." So if i want the friends hot dog truck and the pizza from the food truck I can and no one will guilt me! And LEGO really needs to make a CMF taco guy, then a taco piece so we can get a taco truck too. Quote
jonwil Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 I suspect http://brickset.com/sets/71004-12/Taco-Tuesday-Guy is as close as we are going to get to a taco guy :) Pizza (and hot dogs) are a lot more popular with kids in all of TLGs markets (Europe in particular) than tacos. Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 The pizza van cook has back printing! This is the first time I've seen that, they finally updated the chef torso. Quote
makoy Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 It's about time they put more details to City minifigures. Quote
Huaojozu Posted December 15, 2016 Posted December 15, 2016 Excuse me if I missed it but are there any rumour regarding 2017's large scale vehicle and landmark (i.e. 2016's Big Ben/Beetle)? Quote

There isn't a landmark building like 10253 every year; they only come along every three years or so. But to answer your question more generally, no, and they wouldn't be in the City forum if there were. Quote
