I could be wrong but haven't we already gotten that spider mould in the small Indiana Jones set? They were the fire ant mould yes as well as the ones in the Antman set? I mean I could totally be wrong but that's what they look like to me.

Here's what I think may come with some of the sets going by the prices listed and whats gone before!

60153 - Fun at the Beach (€ 49.49) - Hopefully this comes with a Lifeguard and high seat, Ice cream seller with cart and A vollyball net in place of the football goal.

And could the be a minig combing the beach for lost coins with a metal detector. This would see the return of part #4479 not used since 2010

geez must have been looking through my crystal ball when wishing for things to be included in the Fun at the Beach set. :sweet:

Also noticed in this set that there is 15 mini figs like fun in the park when compared to the prelim picture that only had 14 figs. The wee boy with the red hat was missing from the prelim

Fun at the beach is for me now quite ok, hopefully there will be more detailed pictures, i want to see details on torsos, can you guys see if the red swimsuit is the same as it was in collectible minifigs sries?

Hi cebelicamya, having zoomed in on the red swim suit girl, it looks like only the legs are the same as the red swimsuit from the collectible minifigs as the torso is slightly different.

First, where is a tiger in the jungle sub-theme ?

This tiger is not happy, so total pass on the jungle sub-theme for me.

The best of the city sets is the bus station, looks tidy, well detailed, though in the minifigs a bit of a throw back to last years "Fun In The Park" minifigs.

The cargo terminal is the next best with it's variety of different cargo including what appears to be a ride on lawn mower in lime green but the truck looks a tad late 2000's throw also.

Funny, I get the feeling the coast guard sets are half new, half re-hashed from 2008 especially the giant helicopter. Though I'm digging the new coast guard ATV looks like something off Bondi Rescue.

Now for Fun At The Beach, I feel some of it was just tossed together and I'm only buying it for the minifigs I'm afraid like it's going to take me two minutes to build everything else ! LOL

We can only hope at LegoWorld in February that the city design team have some Easter Eggs for us in the display like they normally do.......fingers crossed for more buildings.

And at least we have Assembly Square this year eh ?

Thanx

looking at the better picture i like the new torso pieces. I love that they included one yellow male torso without abbs printing. Wish the red swimsuit was in another color, pink or purple. Love the green torso on the little girl, i wonder what is printed? Sea shells maybe?

dolphin doesn't have printed eyes, do you guys think that lego will put friends style or city style eyes?

The bus station is really good. Wheelchair access aswell. Also noticed that the sticker between the number plate and windscreen says 'Electric Hybrid'

I personally like the coastguard sets even though they seem to be a re-hash of both 2008 and 2013 sets. With the HQ set, I'm happy to see they have kept with the same type of large boat hull as used previously instead of the one used in the latest Fire Boat and Deep sea Explorers. I like that there is a small HQ building that was missing in 2013 and it has a helipad for the copter that comes with the set, but looks to small for the Heavy Rescue Helicopter. Also there are 7 minifigs with the set. That's on a par with the Artic base camp. The starter set is pretty cool. The ATV is like a polaris type vehicle and this set will go well with Fun at the Beach, minus the shark.

Looking forward to seeing whats on offer from lego world too. Maybe see what set 60168 is???

Very well said, monkles. The same is true for other themes too, notably Superheroes, Star Wars, and City. It's interesting to note that the themes aimed at girls (Friends, Elves) have large, interesting builds that give the themes some context and a sense of place. The Friends jungle theme from a few years back was terrific. Presumably Lego has some market research to back up their product design decisions, but I find it ridiculous to have an Arctic theme with almost no scenery.

Jungle seems to be even worse than the other sets. I count 4 vehicles that are the size of small quadbikes and seem to have little definite purpose.

Real let down.

I like the larger Jungle set with the crashed plane, the set gives off a classic Adventurers vibe. Really like the Venus flytrap, new spider, and Jaguar. The other waterfall set is decent too, beyond that the others are all kind of bland.

The Jungle line is pretty nice, imo. I think they did a good job with the scenery, there's a perfect amount this time around. None of the sets really fit into my existing layout, though, but I'll probably pick up the starter set to add to my swamp setup.

Fun at the Beach is okay, it's a bit of a downgrade from Fun at the Park. It also appears to be a little more expensive, which is unfortunate.

Bus Station is definitely one I want. Looks decent, plus, I don't have any buses.

Fun at the Beach is decent. I don't know if I will be picking it up, though.

The jungle sets in particular look really good. Plus, I love that they included two big cats. The vehicles look good as well.

Coast Guard is a fine bunch. I love that Jeep looking vehicle, and, the Starter Set is nice as well.

All in all, a decent bunch of stuff.

Did not set the bar high for this wave but it surely is better than rumors suggested.

The jungle stuff isn't half bad if only for the animals and the nice color scheme. The rest of city sets look great too. Loving that bus and the coast guard theme is also looking nice.

Another people pack is nice will come in handy plus he creator houses look set to bolster a few cities around here.

I am really glad that coast guard helicopter has its "face" built from bricks not from one big one-purpose part. (unlike the recent city planes). Someone at Lego remembered again that it is what is LEGO all about. building stuff from simple parts.

Personally, I absolutely love the new City sets, specifically Jungle--which says a lot considering I don't think I've ever left Licensed before!

The Jungle sets to me offer tons of Adventurers nostalgia, which only adds to their appeal. Unlike say Volcano, this wave not only has the obligatory "study" objective feeling, but also "explore", "adventure", and from what I can see so far, "treasure hunters". It all adds to the fun in my opinion, as well as a sense of danger. Sure Volcanoes are dangerous, especially if you walk right up to one, but heck a Leopard is a bit more terrifying to walk up to! The new Leopard and Panther are spectacular (I never knew I needed them until now!), as is the nice if possibly unnecessary, new Venus Fly Trap mold. And if you buy the whole wave you'll end up with three crocodiles and numerous frogs and snakes. The new Spider mold is appreciated as well. There wasn't anything wrong with the previous one, but I like that we are getting new species.

The vehicles and terrain are done well too, which is a surprise coming off of Volcano (clearly I don't think highly of that theme. Lime green is garnish). Granted my opinion may change on the terrain once we remove the sets from this staged background we're seeing (imagination can only go so far afterall!). But again, the ruined temples give an Adventurers look as does the hints of previous adventures from the crashed plane. I'll note too how well done the waterfall is. Normally I, and I assume most people, dislike the plastic sheets used (they only bring back debilitating flashbacks from that PotC set ), but the one used in 60160 looks fantastic! The largest three vehicles look the best, and I think the one included in 60161 is my favorite. They're overly huge, but they all have a strong heft and tough attitude. The small cars are all throwaways however.

You should have listened to the biologist, I said it was jaguars

But they have the mould now so I think a tiger is the next big cat out, maybe in a ninjogo set within a couple of years :classic:

I think the jungle sets look good, could have been more foliage and less vehicles to make them even better, but they are of course aimed at kids..

The most important thing for me is the animal moulds as always  From what I can see the jaguars look great both the normal one and the melanistic colour variant, they can also be used as leopards without any problem  Also happy several of the sets include the crocodile mould! Nice that we get a new spider and the inclusion of snakes and frogs. Rather surprising that they did not include the new parrot mould in the sets...

The Fatb set seems promising, glad Lego included the dalmatian instead of the German shepherds in the set. Odd the lobster is red, but glad it is in a normal set so soon.. The dolphin I am wondering about, it looks like the friends mould with different eyes on the box, but the one outside have no eyes printed on it. Apparently it is not finished yet, so I hope they make a new mould, but not so sure any more :sceptic:

I guess that mobile lab is going to be our jungle HQ.  The sets I'm not crazy for but I'll still be picking them up for the new animals!  Besides you can never have too many city sets.

Loving your work. Though not sure I'd agree that animal moulds are impotent ?

Happy to have the 'big spotted cat' that can be jaguar or leopard, quite a savvy call by Lego to cover lots of geographical options really. In time we will surely see a tiger recolour.

By the same token though, perhaps the 'crocodile' needs to be called crocodilian to cover crocs, alligators and caimans? ?

The Jungle sets are really cool. I don't know if I like the builds of some of the vehicles, but the setting and the new parts are awesome. For some reason I really, really, really want the big cats..

Fun at the beach and the range of new torsos it brings are also very, very welcome.

I don't know if it's been mentioned, but there's also a really cool new mould in one of the friends sets that could be carried over to other themes. Bandages for the hands. ^^

The panther and leopard look incredible.

Agreed. I wonder how much the set with the panther will be in the UK.

I'm hoping that LEGO takes a leaf out of Playmobil's book and uses the new large cat mould to make lions by adding a lion's mane part.

The carnivorous plants are also cool but they're not the first in LEGO. There was this one from the Scooby-Doo range. There may have been others. There were also the cocoons from Hero Factory sets a few years ago. The green leaf parts are especially well suited to making carnivorous plants. You can place a minifigure in a closed flower/cocoon in such a way that it stays in place, appearing to be trapped.
