I got back into Lego in 2014, after nearly 30 years.  I was drawn to the city/creator/modular type stuff, and tried to organize a set up that kind of centers around those themes.

The friends/disney sets made a cool, similar environment for my daughter.

Sadly though, almost all of the little sub themes (underwater, space program, arctic, volcano raiders, etc...) haven't really fit into the sort of layout I've been putting together.

So I've just been ignoring them, and gradually losing hope that TLG with ever release a sub theme that I could use, other than swamp crooks.

...and then I see this thread!!

I just happen to have a beach next to a jungle with a lot of coastal space between it.

I'm very excited for the new sets to come out.  I don't know what I'm going to do with all those yellow vehicles that aren't going to go in the jungle, but who cares.  The crashed airplane, native structures and large cats are a dream come true.  I'll have to spread some things out to make the beach larger, but that's ok, i'll just make the table bigger.

I wouldn't post anything about this if I just thought the new wave was sort of cool, it's nearly perfect!!!

The more I look at Fun at the Beach, the more I don't like it... maybe because the Fun in the Park really had outstanding elements like the a lot of new torsos, wheelchair and the baby.  Making it more expensive doesn't help either.

I am warming up to the Jungle subtheme and now looking forward to the new Jaguar and Panther.

As i do not have a beach, there is no need for me to buy the Fun at the Beach set... besides that, most minifigs have normal clothing, and having a few almost nude, would be strange.....for it is like i would put some Ninjago figs in the layout..haha!

You're right. Totally not feeling the beach vibe.... most people are wearing too much clothing. They might as well make this  fun at the quay or waterfront.

As much I want to like these set, no monkeys and parrots just kills me. SO why they even updated that mold?!

Just wait for it. I was expecting the monkey to make a come back as well.... but at the same time if TLG will give us all the new animals in one wave, they might as well make a zoo set -- but they aren't.

Is the volleyball ball the same ball used for the DFB series?

I'm intrigued to know if it is the same mould with different print... I think we just have to wait.

I was confused when I found this answer from the other topic.... but anyway, the paddles doesn't have the same contour and like @Robert8 said, the designs were created at least a year in advance.

Doesn't really look like I'm going to be getting a lot of sets this summer, which is probably good for my wallet. I'm not really a fan of the overly large vehicles used in the Jungle (and Volcano) theme. Same with the large SUV in the Coast Guard theme, along with that giant aircraft nose Lego insists on using all the time. On the other hand, the bus station and the cargo terminal look fantastic and I will be getting those along with FATB.

I honestly thought at the very least we would get a new monkey mould.  We got a new colour scheme for the parrot which would have being a great opportunity to use it within this sub-theme as well.

Really nice layout and cool looking cliffs with waterfalls with a tunnel and a train. Jungle will fit perfectly.

Loving the Tower set!

I completey agree with you, Legoman123!

At about 0:33 in the following video you can clearly detect a big tan statue with a small cave next to it, a golden tumbler as treasure on its top and on the right a river with a small some sort of rope bridge above. So the Jungle Explorer Exclusive supposably will include:

- huge double rotor helicopter

- 4x4

- cargo boat

- watchtower

- ancient statue with cave and part of river with rope bridge above

Suppoably this is the best, but even the most expensive, set of the whole line!

I was really looking forward to the FATB set. But now that we've got detailed pics, I have to say that the result is really disappointing!

The Jungle Exploration sets are - apart from the missing HQ and a missing huge temple and that the big vehicles are for my taste too huge - amazing!

Thanks for the video, I have been waiting for better pictures from the Denmark :classic:

I bet and hope the set also will include a jaguar and a crocodile

Do anyone know when can we expect pictures of the box or similar?

Since this set seems to be the biggest one from the JE subtheme, I bet that there will be a crocodile and a panther or jaguar included.

If I remember correctly, pics of the City and Friends Exclusives show up very late - about one month before their release. So I'd guess we'll get official pics in May. (But take into consideration that there aren't yet many official pics of this year's summer sets whereas there were last year - so the date of pics showing up might even be later.)

After viewing the video my heart sank, no special surprises which we have been getting from Legoworld almost every year since 2011. I'm interested in the title Brick Sq on the bus and it's a hybrid one too.

Well, looks like my money will stretch this year ! LOL

According to the CG EXclusive:

It's very likely that the small sailing boat shown at the Legoworld layout will be included. But did anyone detect which CG stuff will come with it? I mean: That helicopter above looks exactly like the one from tthe CG Heavy Rescue Helicopter set and it's absolutely unrealistic that there'll be one heli in two sets, isn't it?

Yeh couldn't see anything else coastguard related that already hadn't been disclosed as the summer wave apart from the sailing boat. Maybe the exclusive could be an updated version of 4210 CG Platform seeing as 60167 has the HQ building and main boat.

So, it seems the volleyball ball is just an unprinted soccer ball. :sceptic: I was expecting a new mold.

I think it's called cutting corners to save money and maintain profitability

Thank you very much for the link, Lego_Talk! :classic:

Btw: So "Fun at the icy cold beach" will be available already in June, too?
