Posted August 9, 20168 yr Hello my Train Tech friends. Well after a bit of a break from the train world and several Star Wars MOCs later I've returned to my train layout project. This is the first section which is an upgrade in size and detail over my previous model that was part of my Harbour build. The design is based off of several large grain elevators located in a city very close by to where I live. More MOCs will follow as the layout progresses. Enjoy. August 9, 20168 yr Sorry, but... where's the MOC? The only thing I see is a scale model kit... No, I'm just kidding, of course. This thing is outstanding! So realistic, and so many details - those roof vents, the rainwater pipe, the lamps, the tanks... And the different-coloured patches of the brick walls really are the icing on the cake. I'm blown away! Two questions: Does it have an interior? And how do you keep the slanted roof section in place?
August 9, 20168 yr I love your attention to details! This MOC is an amazing masterpiece with a retrò style architecture!
August 9, 20168 yr Wow, so in addition to amazing Star Wars MOC, you also build beautiful town/train scenes? Consider me impressed I think my favorite bit is the subtle weathering on the slanted roof - great work!
August 10, 20168 yr Wow. What a huge building! Does it have a working grain elevator? Or is this feature reserved for Phase 2?

The next stage involves several large silos adjoining the back. The roof is held in place with hinge plates. Wow, so in addition to amazing Star Wars MOC, you also build beautiful town/train scenes? August 10, 20168 yr Nice and quite impressive. I wonder how the whole layout will look like if this is just the start of it.
August 10, 20168 yr Wow! The comparisons to a scale model are spot on, this just looks right! Well done!
August 10, 20168 yr Looks fantastic - well done. It reminds me a bit of Terminus from the Walking Dead - maybe an idea for Phase 2 or the interior?
August 11, 20168 yr Author Nice and quite impressive. I wonder how the whole layout will look like if this is just the start of it. Thanks. I have to try not to let it get too big this time. Wow! The comparisons to a scale model are spot on, this just looks right! Well done! Thankyou. Looks fantastic - well done. It reminds me a bit of Terminus from the Walking Dead - maybe an idea for Phase 2 or the interior? Now I'm going to have to stock up on zombie minifigs;)
August 14, 20168 yr Amazing work, really neat design with a great level of detail. I fell like driving through Antwerp seeing this. Are you coming to Brickmania Antwerp with any of these models?
August 14, 20168 yr Author Very nice work. Thanks. Amazing work, really neat design with a great level of detail. I fell like driving through Antwerp seeing this. Are you coming to Brickmania Antwerp with any of these models? Hey thanks capt. I'm always wanting to bring some builds to Brickmania in Antwerp. Just hard getting enough time free to go. I still have to join up with Belug too.
August 15, 20168 yr Lovely build - like the "stained" bricks look - helps with making it look used and deteriorating a little. Love the little shunter too!
August 17, 20168 yr A bit late to the party I am but I would also like to say how much I love this. It just looks so right. You have captured that industrial type of building so well. I am very impressed
August 17, 20168 yr This looks amazing, really detailed! It would fit in perfectly with the detailed scale model kits I remember from messing around with Marklin trains. Nice use different colours to give it the weathered and used look without overdoing it.
August 21, 20168 yr Outstanding work. Your locomotives ( especially the Class 77) and freightcars on your Flickr are great too.

Thanks everyone. I'm planning on building some new locomotives shortly. Also I added a small section to the top of the building the other day to finish the top off better. The surrounding sections of the layout are under construction now too. Small MOD done today adding an extra part on the roof. by Michael, on Flickr
