Luberry_pie Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Hi guys... Was wondering if anybody would be able to help with a design for a kite? I've reached a total mind melt trying to make one that is realistic and pretty! I have an abundance of parts at my disposal but whatever I do I can't seem to make it look right. My first thought was a string reel and a see through stand to make it up in the air...? Would be most grateful for any ideas! Thanks you xxx Quote
Athos Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Here is a box kite that I did and another and another. Steve Quote
Luberry_pie Posted August 10, 2016 Author Posted August 10, 2016 Oh my... Thanks guys :) The box kite is adorable Steve! But I'm looking to do more of a traditional kite although I do like the string you have used and might pinch that idea! Sorry for not saying about the size... I'm hoping to make it minifigure scale so that it doesn't look out of place in a little moc I'm creating with a beach theme. The issue I had with the tow-truck string was the reel looked *huge* in the minifigure's hand! Thanks again for the input xxx Quote
Athos Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 A couple of wedge plates might work for a flat or delta kite. Or maybe some of those triangle road signs clipped on the tubing? Steve Quote
Actor Builder Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 Use a small cape or other cloth-based piece wrapped kite-like around a few bars or tubes, perhaps? Quote
emilstorm Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 (edited) Maybe a shield could work, the size would be pretty good. Edit: you could take an oval one and attach it with one of these http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=11090#T=C to the type of "string" Athos uses. Littleworlds Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 Maybe some flat flag pieces with clips too. The kind that is used for speeder bikes and stuff I hope that description isn't too confusing Quote
KamalMYafi Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 (edited) Maybe a shield could work, the size would be pretty good. This "kite shield" (click image for the parts): or Here! It has a decoration too! Edited August 13, 2016 by KamalMYafi Quote
BrickCurve Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 This "kite shield" (click image for the parts): Here! It has a decoration too! . That is probably the most accurate option at that scale, there is also a more octagonal version with more rectangular edges as well, this set has it in it, though I don't have time to find it on Brick Link now: Quote
