I am having a hard time finding good, modular and relatively inexpensive tables for my Lego city. Building them is probably out of the question unless it is dead simple, since I am not too handy. Anyone have any recommendations?

How cheap are you looking for, and do you have any size requirements/limitations?

I don't know your locality, but if you want something that looks presentable and is a reasonable price, Ikea has a good selection of separate tabletops and legs at reasonable prices. If you want to go big, cheap, and don't mind if it's kinda ugly, you can go to some place like Harbor Freight Tools and get a couple of sawhorses (as cheap as $12-15 each) and then grab whatever size of plywood you want at Home Depot and lay that on top. Another way to go is to keep an eye on Craigslist (or whatever local Swip-Swap type of sites you may have) for classic folding tables. Might take some time to catch them, but around me I see 6-foot folding tables in decent shape pop up for $25ish pretty regularly.

Hi,

I personally use these from IKEA:

They are cheap (6€ per piece) and you can easily change the entire form of your build. I have about 16 of them. What's also nice for me is that they are quite small in height since my LEGO is on the attic and the roof at the sides of the room prevents me from using higher tables. But I can really suggest using these tables. Also, if you have children, they can reach the LEGO on top of the tables.

Personally, for large layouts, I use an array of cheap but sturdy, white plastic foldable tables which have been great, though they do need to be used with a table cloth to make them presentable.

I use MELLTORP tables from IKEA, I really love them! They come in two sizes; 125 x 75 meter and 75 x 75 meter. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S19011777/

In my layout I use 3 of the biggest ones + a little additional selfmade area in the corner. They are cheap, sturdy and looks clean.

Feel free to look at my layout:

Without any lego on top:

Ask if you have any questions. Good luck!

So the measurement in total for my layout is 3Mx3M60, but I want a hole in the middle, so busy with calculating how many tables I need and maybe a smaller table aswell, so I have a hole I fit in to work on the city in those middle part
